Apr 22, 2013
I have a weird problem with Photoshop cs6 extended. I bought my new laptop HP Pavilion dv6 6170ee which has 2 graphics card 1 is the intel one and the other is the AMD one ( High Performance ).
Â
my drivers are installed and updated anyway the 3D option in CS6 was working good and it's content was enabled and ready to use , but suddeny after restarting my pc I started cs6 and found out that the contents at 3D Menu is disabled I went for my AMD graphics card control center and made sure that photoshop is running on the ( High Performance ) GPU and here is the screen shot that proffs it and then I opened photoshop again , choosen Edit , Performace and found that it's still using the Intel Grapics Card ? here is the screen shot and I have done all what i can do to make the 3D menu content enabled again system restore ( failed ) , Reinstalling windows + Drivers + stuff again ( same problem happpend again after restarting my computer ) and also trying resseting my gpu settings to factory default settings ) all of these was fail , is there a way to force start photo shop like command line ..etc .

all the twirly triangle dropdown menu things (what's the official term?) underneath the contents menu of layers. Especially now that I'm working with Convert to Shape Layer functionality I'm wondering what an efficient/shortcut based way to work with these inner menus is. For instance when converting Text to Shape layers - it seems like I'm spending most of my time dealing with twirly triangle management  I don't even know how to search for them: obviously searching for anything "collapse" takes one to a bunch of collapse transformations stuff.
I installed PS CS6 Extended today, but there is no 3D menu available anymore? Also, it doesn't support .obj files anymore.I'm also having issues, opening .psb files.
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 Extended from adobe.com as the trial, but after installing it I don't see the 3D menu at the top. I have tried reinstalling several times but still no 3D menu. I have a ASUS GTX550Ti graphics card with 1gb of ram so I thought this would be sufficient. Also running windows 7 64bit.
Within Photoshop(CS5extended) there's an option to view Styles I have some original Shapes I have created and also downloaded not too many but I would like to have them added to the window drop-down menu at top similar to styles. Is this even possible, for the life of me I can't find a way to do it
Couple days ago I got a problem. When I try to open extended menu, like Open ->, or Save ->, or Import/Export, 3ds max crashes with "application closed" error. Problem on 3ds MAX 2010 and 2011 in x64 versions. x86 work fine. Service Packs installed. OS Windows 7 x64. Drivers updated, and workis fine.
This solutions did not resolve a problem: - reinstall 3ds MAX - reset user and max settings / deleting enu folder - there is no backup for windows recovery
Can it be, than some windows libraries damaged, or some dll missed? Do not know what to do else, except full windows reinstall.
i started using autocad 2010 in my newly joined office. on using the di command from the inquiry, toolbar a drop down menu appears. after i have selected two points between whom the distance has to be mesured , i have to select an option [as seen in the screenshot]. is there any way to expand the inquiry toolbar just like it used to be in the extended form in version 2009 and older??
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly. Â I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL. Â I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions. Â So, what are my options? Â Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6? Â I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
I'm happy with the NX version, but if I want to upgrade to XT, how do I do it? I looked on the upgrade options for XT and upgrading from NX, is not there.
I Have to force quit Photoshop CS5 in order to get it to quit at all? Then it takes quit azwhile to quit after which a user report comes up to be sent in to Adobe. Â I have tried opening it resetting the prefs file, to no avail.
I work with full screen mode, and the only place I see the file name is in the history palette and it's usually cut off. anything I can do without having to go to standard screen mode.
If I have a layer that is smaller than the canvas, and I want a selection that matches the contents of the layer, how do I do that? Looked at the keyboard shortcuts and faq but didn't see it. orry, I'm a programmer trying to find his way in photoshop.
I am creating a montage. I am wondering how to add all files in a specific folder to new layers without resizing them. I am aware of the automateII function but it resizes the images.
I am trying to design a shower mosaic, using small (3/4") tiles. I have a certain color palette, dictated by where I buy the tiles
And convert it to a mosaic that only uses colors from the tiles. I could then play with tiles of different sizes or a bigger/smaller palette until I was happy with it, and use the Photoshop image as the pattern when I put them in.
I know how to create a mosaic with squares of size x. What I don't know is how to tell Photoshop to take an image and create a mosaic forcing it (as best as it can) into a specified color palette.
A co-worker scanned a photo and emailed it to me to edit it and try to improve it, but everything I want to do is grayed out so I can't select it and I can't figure out why. Maybe it has to do with how she scanned it? Â It's CMYK, 300 dpi, and 8 bit. Â I'd like to sharpen it and adjust the hue/saturation, but they're grayed out. Â why this is happening and how I can work around this so I can make the changes I need to make?
I have a group called "grey button" with a text layer ("ok, got it") and a shape layer ("large grey") within in it. Sometimes the two elements within the group show up in the layers palette, sometimes they don't. Sometimes when I click the drop down for the group folder, it looks to be open but nothing shows beneath it. Sometimes when I can get the items within the group folder to show beneath the folder, then close the dropdown, the folder looks closed but the elements are still showing beneath it.Â
In Applications/Photoshop, right clicking or ctrl+click does not give me "Show Package Contents" (it does work for Lightroom 4) - I beleive it is necessary to get to Show Package Contents in ordder to add Photoshop to the dock? Or is there another way to add Photoshop to the dock?
Recently upgraded from CS2 --> CS5 in windows.  This issue started with that upgrade. Been using PS for years. In my large PSD files I use folders to logically-group layers. With CS5, when I put layers into a folder, it automatically groups the layers (not links, groups). When trying to move the contents on ONE LAYER in a folder (using the mouse).... it moves ALL the layers in the folder.   If I use the keyboard ARROW keys, I can move the contents of one layer in a folder independently of the other layers in the folder.I have not explicitly asked PS to group or link ANYTHING in my file. The default seems to be to GROUP layers in a folder. It did not used to be this way.  If I UNGROUP the layers in the folder, it deletes the folder and the layers are now all at the root level. I lose my organization. The only way to get around this is either:Â
(1)Â leave the folder grouped and use the keyboard arrow keys to move the contents on one layer (way too cumber some), orÂ
(2) MOVE the layer out of the folder, move the contents of it, then move the layer back into the folder.
What is a scratch disk? And more importantly, how do I delete its contents because the program is not letting me use it anymore because apparently the 'scratch disk is full.' URL....
When selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.
I have a text layer I wish to use as a clipping mask, for an image above. But the text layer also has a stroke around the outside of the text, to thicken it a bit. I want the stroked part to be included as part of the mask, i.e. for the image above to be projected onto both the text body AND the stroke around it. However, it seems that the stroke is ignored, and only the basic text shape used as the mask.  How do I achieve an effect whereby the image above is projected also onto the stroke?  I have a similar problem with a shape layer I have. It is a rounded rectangle shape, but I am only using the shape to act as a path around which I stroke to create a 20px frame. I want the frame (only the frame) to be used as a clipping mask, so that an image is projected only onto that frame, and NOT inside or outside the frame -- only on the frame. I can set the "fill" to 0% to create a transparent interior, so that all I have is a frame, and transparency inside and out (which I would then hope is a great clipping mask to use for my purpose), but I guess photoshop views this as being entirely transparent (i.e. effectively no mask at all) because it ignores the stroke part completely.
Is there any way to set a preference so that when I open an image from my Finder (Mac) it opens in the center of my Application Frame workspace rather than always docked to the top left corner? Â CS5.1 Extended, updated, current Mac OSX updated
I have purchased CS6 and I am having problems with the 64-bit version. After I open it completely freezes and I have to force close it. This happens every time I open it. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it multiples times. I didn't have this issue with CS5. I am running this on a Mac 10.6.8, Processsor 2.8 with 8GB memory.
I have this image here and as you can see, I took a screenshot but all I want from this is the blue effect and none of the background contents. It's a single layer. Is there any way I can remove the back?
I can do it, but I was wondering if there is a better way. Â Large PS file (CS6 and CC) half a dozen texture layers using low res images. Several have blend modes, transparency and even masks. I now have the same images in high res. I want to replace just the image, but not lose my blend/transparency, or masks. Â Do I bring in the high res layer, copy the mask over etc? Then delete the original?
I am constantly forced to reinstall frutiger for it to show up in the Photoshop list after each time i restart the computer...What's going on!? I ran the font checked script from the adobe help site and it didn't find any corrupt fonts or anything. Â The font was bought from linotype.
In PS CS5 when I open an image with height dimension in range of 1405-1411 or 1873-1882, the image opens half off the bottom of the screen. Width does opt seem to matter.   I assume this is a bug, but until fixed I am trying to work around.  For manual editing the vertical fit screen button or zooming out causes the image to come on screen, but is neither of these display options will record in an action.  When an image is opened half off screen, a Place command does not place accurately for these images. Thus an action that includes a Place does not run correctly for these images.  So either I want to find a setting (nothing in preferences that I can find) to force the image to open on screen, or find a command that will run in an action that causes image to come on screen, while not interefering with images that open normally.                    Â
