I am creating a montage. I am wondering how to add all files in a specific folder to new layers without resizing them. I am aware of the automateII function but it resizes the images.
View 6 RepliesI'm using X3 and I have a page I need to make a few inches longer. The problem I have is that if change the page size the contents get centered in the page so I have to move the back to their positions. IE if I have some text 1 inch from the top of the page and I make the page 2 inches taller my text is now 2 inches from the top of the page. Is there a way to tell CorelDraw to just add 2 inches to the bottom of the page and not reposition everything?
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded from CS2 --> CS5 in windows.  This issue started with that upgrade. Been using PS for years.In my large PSD files I use folders to logically-group layers. With CS5, when I put layers into a folder, it automatically groups the layers (not links, groups). When trying to move the contents on ONE LAYER in a folder (using the mouse).... it moves ALL the layers in the folder. Â

If I use the keyboard ARROW keys, I can move the contents of one layer in a folder independently of the other layers in the folder.I have not explicitly asked PS to group or link ANYTHING in my file. The default seems to be to GROUP layers in a folder. It did not used to be this way.Â

If I UNGROUP the layers in the folder, it deletes the folder and the layers are now all at the root level. I lose my organization.The only way to get around this is either:Â
(1)Â leave the folder grouped and use the keyboard arrow keys to move the contents on one layer (way too cumber some), orÂ
(2) MOVE the layer out of the folder, move the contents of it, then move the layer back into the folder.
Can the items in the Contents Folder (e.g. Frames, pictures, etc.) be opened directly into Photoshop CS6 without first being opened in CorelDRAW X6. I have both programs, and it would be great if I had access to those objects whenever I'm using Photoshop.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create an ilogic rule that will look within the folders of an assembly and take the contents of each of those folders and demote them to separate sub-assemblies.
ie. Assembly1 contains NewFolder 1. Â NewFolder 1 contains Part1:1 and Part2:1. Â Upon executing the ilogic rule, I would like Assembly1 to contain NewFolder 1 and within NewFolder 1, Assembly1-01. Â Assembly1-01 contains Part1:1 and Part2:1. Â I would like this ilogic rule to look within each successive folder within Assembly1 and demote them according to their position in the browser such that NewFolder 1 - at the top of the browser list - contains Assembly-01, NewFolder 2 contains Assembly-02, etc.
I currently copy a master assembly with browser folders that contain parts and sub-assemblies to a secondary assembly where I manually demote the contents of the folders to sub-assemblies. Â When I create a drawing for our machine assembly department, the demoted sub-assemblies to isolate only those parts - nuts, bolts and the pieces they fit to - so it is easier for the assembly department when putting a machine together.
Is it possible, using ilogic, to demote folder contents to sub-assemblies with an assembly document?
I have a group called "grey button" with a text layer ("ok, got it") and a shape layer ("large grey") within in it. Sometimes the two elements within the group show up in the layers palette, sometimes they don't. Sometimes when I click the drop down for the group folder, it looks to be open but nothing shows beneath it. Sometimes when I can get the items within the group folder to show beneath the folder, then close the dropdown, the folder looks closed but the elements are still showing beneath it.Â

I looked into the photoshop Automated tasks, in the batch section. It has a list of different actions but resizing wasn't among them? Can you specify your own action to be executed?
Basically I want to reduce the size of many JPEG pictures in a folder automatically.
I can not resize my pictures once i insert them into my job nor can I resize my text box.?

When I select a layer and look at the info panel, I see that the layer height and width is shown apparently by default in percentages. Specifically 100% Height and 100% Width.

I would prefer that the Info panel show height and width in Pixels instead of Percentages. Finally, after seeing the height and width in Pixels I want to change the height by entering the height in pixels. How can I do that?

I don't want to use a "ruler" to do this, I just want to be able to enter the pixels (height and width) that I want the layer to b resized. For example when selecting a rectangle that is currently 100 pixels tall and 50 pixels wide, I want to be able to just change 50 pixels wide by entering (in a field) 25 to make it 25 pixels wide.

In Fireworks I resize by pixels all the time. But can't find a similar method in Photoshop.
How can I resize a batch of files, all to same smaller file size, then export to a new folder?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop CS 5.1 running on Windows 7. When I resize a layer using the Free Transform function, the image "Pixilates" and looses sharpness. I have used this feature before on my computer without a problem.  I took my work to school to show my instructor. I did the same thing on the school's Apple without problem. What am I doing wrong?

I don't even know how to search for them: obviously searching for anything "collapse" takes one to a bunch of collapse transformations stuff.
I have a pdf which is approx 25 pages, the original dimensions are 2500 x 2500. The pages are made up of text over artwork and I need to be able to resize the entire artwork and text to 384 x 512. Or the aspect ratio matching the same like 2048 x 1536. So far I converted the pdf to separate pdfs and opened each in Illustrator CS6 and need to first make the artwork smaller and then the text. Is there a set way to do this as I already tried creating a new doc in ai set for the new dimensions and copying and pasting the artwork. This is not that hard as the artwork I can manipulate but the problem is the text where some of it has strokes and other paths that make up each letter. I tried to ungroup but having a hard time. Would be great if I could just lift the text and just scale down.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to create a collage. I set a feather value, make a selection out of a 2nd image and paste it into another file. Pastes in fine, but when I try and grab the corner of the pasted layer and resize it to be smaller, for some reason (I have done this approach on 20 other occasions), it doesn't resize as a rectangle as it should. It starts to resize as an octagon type shape. The following link shows an example of a freshly pasted layer that I tried to resize. There must be some setting that got changed because I have done this across four different versions of paint shop

I know this is basic I slect one layer for the image . When I use the rectangular selection tool on the layer and go to resize or move the selection with the move resize pixel tool instead of moving or resizing the selected area I get blank rectangle that moves or resizes. The selected area just stays the same.

I am working with a document and have layers grouped into a folder. All is good when I merge that group any layers that I had with a blend mode change from that mode to Normal, thus messing up the merge. Another instance where I had this issue is if I had any hidden layers that were not displayed. If the layers were merged they would be changed from hidden to displayed. Again messing up the image and the merge. Not sure what do to here.
Can I make layers default to the top when I drag and drop into a new layer folder instead of the bottom? It annoys me that they always go to the bottom and I inevitably always need them at the top.

My previous computer had 2 arrow icons on the desktop.
One was for re-sizing horizontal pics and the other for re-sizing vertical pics.
I could simply drag/drop the image file onto these re-sizing icons and they would be re-sized.
The smaller file size thumbnail would appear on the desktop.
How can I get these re-sizing tools on my new computer's desktop?

The folder I'm working with contains thousands of DWGs and I've discovered some layer names which differ from our standard naming conventions.
I need to clean up these anomalies so am seeking a way of identifying/locating them.
When I open Elements 9 in Folder Location the images displayed are not those in the highlighted folder. Similarly if I select another folder I see another selection of images from elsewhere in the structure.Â

Installed Elements 12, converted catalog but now my sub folders are shown as main folders in Organizer folder view. How can I get back my original folder/sub folder system? When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. On searching further came across more info on Community-powered support for Photoshop Family and it seems Adobe have removed the option of sub folders.Â
