So as you can see by my screen shot, my layers tab is open but none of the layers are showing in it. It could just be me being stupid but I don't know. I've tried restarting it and reopening my photo but they still haven't shown up.
View 4 RepliesStarted working with PSE and when I tried to "stamp" a brush shape (whether default brushes or otherwise), the program does something it had never done before....SEE ATTACHED. I will create a new layer to use my brush, but when I try to "stamp" it onto background, the program then creates a layer mask where I can see the brush shape AND a new layer, however ALL that shows up on the background is the icon you can see in my screen grab I am attaching here. What is this icon? (The teeny one middle right of image, black square, outlined in red, with two red circles in the middle) I called Apple, we did a few things, they said it wasn't on there end. I reset my tools, I uninstalled, reinstalled, to no avail. Again, I've reset all tools, the "eye" icon on layers panel shows it should be visible, I've tried layers-->merge visible, I've uninstalled and reinstalled.....
View 2 Replies View RelatedSee my attached screenshot--I've got an image that I pasted into Photoshop. You'll see that it is showing up in my layers palette, but not in the actual image on my screen.
I'm on a PC running windows 7 and Photoshop CS5.
I am new to PS CS5, when I create any vector shape using pen tool or rectangular tool etc the shape does not appear in my layers panel.
Is this normal behavior? If it is, how do i reselect a shape after I've made it?
Previously, I was able to view all layers marked as visible at once when editing photos. Now, for some reason, only the top layer is visible, and will not show the editing done in the layers below.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm currently running photoshop CS6 on windows 8 and when I try and open a file the images come up in the layers but not the actual document.
I know this has already been posted about Photoshop CS5 but I think CS6 is slightly different.
I have a group called "grey button" with a text layer ("ok, got it") and a shape layer ("large grey") within in it. Sometimes the two elements within the group show up in the layers palette, sometimes they don't. Sometimes when I click the drop down for the group folder, it looks to be open but nothing shows beneath it. Sometimes when I can get the items within the group folder to show beneath the folder, then close the dropdown, the folder looks closed but the elements are still showing beneath it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been doing a logo at work on illustrator CS6, but when I come home and load it onto my computer using illustrator CS5, the layers don't show up at all. It's all just one layer. Is this because I didn't save it as a legacy format when I was at work? I feel like I've saved work before as CS6 and the layers have shown up when I bring it up on CS5, but for some reason now it isnt? Anyway, just wonder if I'm doing something wrong or can get around this somehow?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing CAD2011, froze, I restarted it and reopened the file I was working in. In my ribbon, all layers read "0", but show the correct ByLayer color according to what layers they were on before the crash. If I list something, it shows the correct layer, and not that it's on "0". When my coworker opens the same file everything is as it should be, which leads me to believe some setting got messed up during this crash.
It is making work way more difficult than it should be - I can't see what layers are what!
I have two view ports on one sheet and the top one has layers not showing that the bottom one has. I can erase and make a new VP and the layers are on.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I open layer manager, it doesnt show my layers, it is just all blank, not even a "0" layer. I can click in the area and it shows the layer but that is it. I searched for a fix but was unable to find a fix. I have updated my graphics card driver but that didnt fix it. I have attached a screen shot to show what it looks like. I am running C3D 2009.

Well, I was working on an illustration, just trying things here and there, and so I have many different layers of elements, some of them I want show, and some of them not (I don't want to delete them though, cause they may be useful later). At some point I realized that when I saved the file and went to see the preview (space bar) in its folder, the image had both hidden and shown elements.
So this is my doubt: is this normal? is there a way to show the preview with only the shown elements? Of course, when I export the file to .png, for example, I get the picture I should get (without the hidden stuff).

I have a revolved part that's made of multiple layers -- aluminum, for example, with an anodized coating and then a paint on top. I need to make a detailed drawing to show how thick each layer is, and to that end, created the part profile, added an offset rotation for layer 1 and then another offset rotation for layer two. They're thus symmetric and in full contact, but separate, distinct layers. No problem.
Turning this into a precise drawing, however, is a bit harder, since all of the layers render into one monolithic revolution. I need to show those layers distinctly, like in the png file attached. Is that possible?
Why a layer state assigned to a viewport can only restrict the layers showing? I want my viewport to show the proper layers all the time, even when those layers are not visible in model space.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add several photos to a frame. I just downloaded the free trial of photoshop elements 12, but the entire column labeled 'layer' is disabled. I can't use clipping mask. I am wondering, is this feature disabled because it's a free trial? Do I need to have my photos arranged differently in order for the layer column to be active and usable? Is this a feature that elements does not have?

When syncing my iPad, photoshop does not appear in the drop down menu in the photos section, only iPhoto or the option to select a folder appears.
I have re-installed iTunes but to no avail.
Other posts with similar issues suggest that iTunes 11 solves the problem but I have the latest version.
Is there a known problem with color in Elements 10?I have a gif that when opened in paint shows the light blue color correctly but in PSE10 shows as a buff color.Red, yellow and blue seem about right.It doesn't matter if it is the gif or the psd file the color showns the same in PSE10.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout3 weeks ago I installed Photoshop 11 on my MacBook Air and everything seemed to be going OK ... I imported old Photoshop Elements 3 files and organized them into albums.
Recently most of the thumbnails are showing a question mark (?) in the corner and I'm getting messages about missing files and trying to re-connect missing files.
I am startiang from scrach since I only was able to transfer photos to a new hard drive. I installed elements 11 and connected with the photos on my hard drive. I have set up various albums and have placed photos in the album they belong. Now I was familar with earlier photoshop and by "tagging" the photo to a particular album. Then I could go to show untagged items to slowly organize the thousands of photos i have. But the same photos are still showing up in the media display. So what am I doing wrong. Is tagging something different from the earlier versions where you could drag an album label to the photo and then see it listed. The photos are showing up in the album but I see no tags.
