AutoCAD 2010 :: Colored Layers Showing Up Grey
Oct 27, 2009The layers that are colored will show up only some of the time. Any other time they are gray. Where do i go to fix that?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Layer Manager Not Showing Layers?
Apr 11, 2013Using CAD2011, froze, I restarted it and reopened the file I was working in. In my ribbon, all layers read "0", but show the correct ByLayer color according to what layers they were on before the crash. If I list something, it shows the correct layer, and not that it's on "0". When my coworker opens the same file everything is as it should be, which leads me to believe some setting got messed up during this crash.
It is making work way more difficult than it should be - I can't see what layers are what!

May 13, 2013Why a layer state assigned to a viewport can only restrict the layers showing? I want my viewport to show the proper layers all the time, even when those layers are not visible in model space.

Sep 26, 2013I have upgraded my Lightroom from 5.0 to the new update, so I am using Lightroom 5.2 . Yesterday I went into my old Lightroom 4 on my computer, retrieved a photo, exported it and shut down. Late last night I went to open Lightroom 5.2 and when I did all the photos are a screen of light grey with a light grey border. It seems all the date is there, but no photos show in either Lightroom 5.2 or Lightroom 4.

May 30, 2013how I can change the color of all layers at once to the same color easier then what I'm doing now?...I open the layer manager, select all layers, click on the color and edit it globally there. Then I exit out of the layer manager....is there a routine that would do it with way less steps?...I'd try and create one but I've tried in the past and always seem to screw it up... Apr 22, 2013I was watching one of the tutorials by Scott Georgeson on lynda.com on Corel X6. It was on the polygon tool where he was making a polygon and adding different colored duplicate layers on top to make it multicolored. He said to hold the plus+ key and then grab handle to shrink one of the layers down to show some of the underlying layer. When I try this the layers aren't isolated and the whole thing moves. I saw a check box in the settings to edit layers separately but didn't work.

Jun 28, 2013When I use Lightroom with the LG 29EA93 29 inch Widescreen LED Monitor Lightroom 5 initially looks and works OK but when I try and make changes using develop I get a gray area where the image should be (see below). I have tried other resolutions and that made no difference. Other apps/programs work fine.
I tried my old monitor 1680x1050 and Lightroom 5 functions fine on that one.

The problem I'm experiencing is that a number of objects that have been rotated at an angle or lines that are curved appear dark grey on the screen in PDF format. I'm using the DWG to PDF. pc3 with monochrome setting selected. I've checked the Plot Style Table Editor and all colours have been selected to print 'black'; greyscale is 'off' and screening is at 100%. Is this a 'bug' or is there a fix for this problem?

Aug 11, 2011how to stop AutoCAD Lt from ploting in grey... it doesnt seem to make sense to me why this is happening. We use to have Autocad 2007 and a lot of the files that we still work from were created in that. Everytime files are now plotted to pdf parts of the drawing appear a very light grey as oppose to black which is how they appear on the screen. In the plot style table in the page setup they are also black - and I have tried changing it from monochrome to custom pen assignments, nothing seems to change it. The files are usually in stb as oppose to ctb. whole page prints black or the colours that I have actually clicked on?

Aug 12, 2013We use AutoCad to name our dxf files for our Burn Table and whenever we get a new part it is a repetitive task to input layers and common text. So what I am curious is can AutoCAD input the layers and text automatically using a Macro?
I want the Macro to put in 6 layers and choose the layer color and title then input text boxes with word in 3 different layers. There will be about a total of 10 different text boxes with text already put in the boxes by the Macro.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Bind Xref Layers To Master Layers
Mar 20, 2012I am currently updating and coming up with a better system for are plant layout file for AutoCAD. When this project is complete, it will be set up so if someone needs to make a change they can just make a copy of the X-Ref file for the area they will be updating and hand it back in when there done. I will review the updated X-Ref then switch out the old X-Ref file for the updated one.
Problem: the problem I am having is when I am in the master drawing that contains all the X-Ref files, the layers list becomes enormous. There are about 30 to 40 different X-Ref files with 15 layers each. Those 15 layers contain the exact same information but you have to edit them individually.
Question: Is there a way to make the 15 layers in the master effect the corresponding layer in all the X-ref files? For instance, you hide the “Machines” layer in the master and it hides the “Machines” layer in all the X-ref.
Side Note: If you were going to make the suggestion “use Xbind” I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work well because “Xbind” creates a new layer you have to assign to things instead of making the layers relate to one another.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Grey Lines Flick White When Working In Large Dwg / Cutting And Pasting As Block?
May 4, 2012when I am working on a large drawing and/or pasting as a block, all the grey lines (colour 8) turn to white. When I select a grey line, it flicks back to grey, but de-select, and it's white again.
If I toggle on hardware acceleration, the problem is fixed for a short while, and also if I turn it off, it is fixed for a short while, and also if I save, close and re-open it's good untill I paste a block....
I suspect it may be because of my setup and an un tested graphics card:

I have a revolved part that's made of multiple layers -- aluminum, for example, with an anodized coating and then a paint on top. I need to make a detailed drawing to show how thick each layer is, and to that end, created the part profile, added an offset rotation for layer 1 and then another offset rotation for layer two. They're thus symmetric and in full contact, but separate, distinct layers. No problem.
Turning this into a precise drawing, however, is a bit harder, since all of the layers render into one monolithic revolution. I need to show those layers distinctly, like in the png file attached. Is that possible?

I have several drawings with different image types in them. Whenever I try to print DWG to PDF or even Adobe PDF, I get a "Attempting to cancel" message and everything shows up in the PDF except the images.
I can print to a printer just fine.
