I am currently running Map 3D 2012 with CadWorx and I am having an issue with one of my multi tab drawings. Any object set to plot grey (any grey), that is in paper space, is plotting black only in one of my layouts. similar objects in model space and in both spaces on other layouts are all plotting accordingly.

This works perfectly for quickly assessing brightness and contrast of pictures.
In pse 10 however I could not find any button to change the preset lightgrey background colour to darkgrey.
I try to use the color grey its always redish grey and never grey.
I tried changing my color settings from photoshop but it still wont work.
how to stop AutoCAD Lt from ploting in grey... it doesnt seem to make sense to me why this is happening. We use to have Autocad 2007 and a lot of the files that we still work from were created in that. Everytime files are now plotted to pdf parts of the drawing appear a very light grey as oppose to black which is how they appear on the screen. In the plot style table in the page setup they are also black - and I have tried changing it from monochrome to custom pen assignments, nothing seems to change it. The files are usually in stb as oppose to ctb. whole page prints black or the colours that I have actually clicked on?

I'm creating images in Photoshop and printing to a Xerox solid ink printer. If I print in greyscale everything is fine, but if I have an image that has both color and B&W portions, the greys come out green (or brown depending on whether I print from CMYK or RGB). Is there any way to have a portion of an image in a color space and others in greyscale?
what I might try as far as the printer? If I print CMYK the greys come out really green but all the other colors are good. If I print RGB the greys come out browner (which is a little better), but other colors get muddy.
Is there any way to get a printer to stop trying to "interpret" greys as a color when in a color mode?

I'm trying to slice the grey cylinder object in the attached drawing with a curved network surface. Rather than slice around the path of the surface it seems to have just taken a planar slicing plane between the 2 vertical edges of the network surface.
Any way of converting a black object to a grey object? We have a product that is made of black plastic with metal surround and I desperately need an image of the same product with grey plastic, but keeping the detail and metal finish.

View 13 Replies View Related1. When I use the rotate manipulator the rotated object scales up in the world Y axis warping the object when rotating. In a prior step I scaled the object in the Y axis. I scaled the object while the tool was set to local. However I've done many times before but never had this issue. I've deleted history, cleanup, etc but nothing works. The channel box shows all scales are at 1. To test the manipulator, I created a cube and rotated it but the cube didn't scale so it must be something with the object itself.
The pictures show the scaling in relation to the rotate tool. I zoomed to place the object exactly within the inner ring. You'll see it grows when rotated.
2. The rotate manipulator is grey or partially grey. The tool works so it's not a locked channel. Since both issues happened at the same time I'm thinking they are related.
3. I can't get the X/Y grid to show on the front view. The grid is enabled on the panel and in the preferences. The front view, shows the plane of the X/Z grid. The side view shows the Y/Z grid. The top view show the X/Z grid.
How can I do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedNormally I plot in paper space and everything works well. when I plot in paper space all the lines ae much, much lighter and almost invisible, whereas if I plot the same drawing in model space the plot comes out perfectly, though not in scale. I must have pushed a wrong button somewhere but wnat button is beyond me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using 2004lt- I have current .dwg in modelspace and set up to plot in PS@ 3/23"-1'-0". I'd like to create a second set of PS tabs to plot portions at 1/4"-1'-0" on the same border when needed.
In its a single viewport in MS and PS the current scale is 1:1 but if i change it to 1/4"-1',etc the plot preview appears wrong
2 of 3 viewports in paper space do not show up in print preview, nor will they print. The viewports are all on the same layer, defpoint layer. Even if I create 3 new viewports and erase the old ones, still can only print preview one viewport and only one viewport will print.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to edit some pictures that a customer of mine has taken. They are of silver utensils wrapped with beads and the way she has taken them, there is a huge shine reflection on them. There are 25 current pictures all using the same dark background.
I have fiddled with the adjustment brightness and highlights, but they come out looking gray and fake, so I removed those adjustments.
I tried using burn the bright spots and then dodge the coloured stones to bring back some luster. No matter what i am doing, it no longer is a silver utensil, it is a picture that has been poorly edited, and that simply isn't okay.

I need to reduce the glare/reflection and the stones need to be vibrant.
Have a dwg with two layouts sheets that print to pdf in paper space - one layout works just fine the other NOT.
Both include one view port and a few small details as pdf underlays(@ 150 kb each) in the PAPER space layout.
The problem sheet - ran a very slow plot preview but it did complete a full view of the layout, then when selected to do the plot it never completes the pdf.
I tried a pdf plot of the same area in MODEL space and it previews just fine and plots to a pdf just fine.
I'm having trouble with paper space labels. When i zoom in and out to adjust my viewport, the scale looks fine. Then when i go to plot preview all text are enlarged. Then when I cancel I go to paperspace and labels remain large.

The data is mapped to a layer, and it can be viewed in "Print Preview" but nothing comes out when i plot from paper space.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've run into a small problem while trying to export a drawing from paper space as a PDF. The drawing is of an electrical panel for a product. The panel is rather large, but the drawing includes some smaller details, such as a vendor logo on a component or a few extra lines on the border of a display screen. We have a large, multi page PDF file that uses A4 paper size that I need to insert this drawing into, so the export must be at this size. When exporting, I have CAD set to use monochrome and ignore the line weights, which solved my initial problem that the parts would show up as solid black splotches.
Now that the back story is over, here's the problem. When I export the pdf, everything looks great except these small details around the components. For some reason, the lines in the components will shift to one side or the other, causing breaks between features. Most of these breaks occur between an arc endpoint and a line endpoint. The export also excludes some smaller bits of geometry.
When printing a paper space viewport in Conceptual Visual Style mode, text objects are visible in the print preview but not in the printout on paper. Why are they not hidden in the preview if they are not going to be printed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe've been working with adding schedule tags in paper space for objects nested within an xref. The first time you do this however, the manual properties (it seems) do not update if the value of the manual property is changed back in the xref dwg. However, the Automatic properties do seem to update.
When we initially found this we past it off as a limitation. However, one of our users was experimenting and found that the first time you tag the xref resident object... the schedule tag reads the correct manual properties value. However, If you remove the property set from the schedule tag... then the manual property will update correctly showing the current value as it is back in the xref dwg even if it is changed.
This makes complete sense as the manual property set data can be edited from either the tag or the object or from the schedule... IF THE TAG and the object are resident in the same drawing file - in this case you DO NOT want to delete the property set from the tag... if you do this the property set is also removed from the object. However, when tagging objects nested within an xref, then you need to remove the property set from the tag... THEN the manual property will update correctly.
When I open up my AutoCad LT some of the items are grey, but when I open the same drawing in my regular autocad everything is in their normal colors. What setting is causing this? See attached picture.

The problem I have encountered is that when the pdf is created, it has some of the lines in grey which they werent in AutoCad whatsoever. When I zoom into the lines on the pdf, these lines turn black as should be and appear normal. why this is happening and how I can create a PDF where the lines will stay black.

Then I exit out of the layer manager....is there a routine that would do it with way less steps?...I'd try and create one but I've tried in the past and always seem to screw it up...
