I am new to PS CS5, when I create any vector shape using pen tool or rectangular tool etc the shape does not appear in my layers panel.
Is this normal behavior? If it is, how do i reselect a shape after I've made it?
Started working with PSE and when I tried to "stamp" a brush shape (whether default brushes or otherwise), the program does something it had never done before....SEE ATTACHED. I will create a new layer to use my brush, but when I try to "stamp" it onto background, the program then creates a layer mask where I can see the brush shape AND a new layer, however ALL that shows up on the background is the icon you can see in my screen grab I am attaching here. What is this icon? (The teeny one middle right of image, black square, outlined in red, with two red circles in the middle) I called Apple, we did a few things, they said it wasn't on there end. I reset my tools, I uninstalled, reinstalled, to no avail. Again, I've reset all tools, the "eye" icon on layers panel shows it should be visible, I've tried layers-->merge visible, I've uninstalled and reinstalled.....

The font increases, but the text boxes don't expand to fit the increased size text. So I am having to make each box bigger manually. Is there a way to have the boxes expand to fit bigger text automatically through the layers panel?

View 4 Replies View Relatedim not too hip with shapefiles/linetypes. but here is my current situation. everything was working fine for the past 2 weeks since our civil2013 install. yesterday i started a new drawing with our template, and now our linetypes are just dashed lines. its not loading the x's for fences, or any of our other custom shapes. i opened an old drawing which was working fine, and it now has the same issue.
the support file path is pointed to a local folder which contains a customised .shx file made by a previous employee here.
I made a car in Illustrator, saved it as an eps then placed it in Indesign. There is a white shape that keeps showing up, I have looked through all of my layers, selected everything and I can not find it in the Illustrator

I messed up! I have like 70 different layers..each with a shape on it. I want all the shapes to be the same colour, but I dont want to do it manually and I want to keep te shapes.. Is there any way to do it? Besides layer style colour overlay...

give me the correct commands to use on a mac to merge all underlying layers to one layer at the top of the layers panel list. I know it in a mac but not on a mac as I just recently switched over.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere is what my artboard looks like. What I'm trying to do is just get the black shapes as one solid logo without the white showing. For example, if I were to place this in another Illustrator project, it would still have the white rectangles with full transperency. I tried a tut online, but when I place the AI file into another project, the WHOLE image is invisible.
If I were to open this AI file in Photoshop, I could use the Magic Wand to delete the white parts and leave just the black shape. I want to be able to resize the black shape and use it on banners, avatars, etc.
Background notes: I am using this for my gaming website and I would like to be able to use this for my logo. (Crossfire)
I can only get one image at a time into the layers panel. If I go to ‘new layer’ it shows a chequered image only. How can I bring my other images into this panel?

Both the Layers Panel and Adjustment Panel are in Expanded format when I Minimize CS4 to the Taskbar.
I then maximize CS4 and the Layers Panel does not show any layers. I have to double-click the Layers tab to reveal my layers. Never had this with CS3.
When objects are selected, they don't show up on the properties panel (or on the Quick Select panel either) It doesn't matter what method I use:
-Pick one object (lines, arcs, circles, blocks, etc), the Quick Properties flyout appears, but empty. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Window-select object or objects. Quick Properties bar shows up empty again. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Click on the Quick Select icon. It prompts me to pick geometry. I do. The Quick Select window comes up, but where it says "Object Type", it only has the option "Multiple", and not the normal list of the geometry you selected.
Have Autocad 2011, as well as Autocad 2010 and Inventor 2010 (trial license) on the same machine.

This has happened when I have dropped items onto my canvas and am moving them around, as well.

What I want to do is import an image from which I will cut out part of it and layer it onto another image. For example: lets's say I want to put an image of myself in front of a tree. I want to take the image of myself from one picture and layer it onto the picture which has the tree on it. How do I get both of those images into the same layers panel? I can get the picture of myself into the layers panel as layer #1, then I can cut myself out of the picture. My problem is, when I try to import the picture with the tree on it, it opens itself up in a new tab. If I try to hit "create new layer", only a blank layer apprears above my first layer. I have tried to drag the new image onto the layers panel, but it won't attach. All of the tutorials I have been able to find/watch, already have all of the images they are working with pre-loaded into the layers panel. I have been using PSE 10 on this laptop for over a year, and PSE 7 for years. Today I opened a PSE file to carry on working on it, and the layers panel was blank, even though it has several layers. I opened a jpg and tried to create a new layer, and nothing shows up in the layers panel. I don't remember changing anything between last night and today. Is PSE corrupt?

I have a Nvidia Quadro 6000 running in combination with a tesla c2075 there was not any problem i could see with other CS6 programs and it was working fine with CS5.
