just installed GIMP 2.8.4 on iMac OS X 10.8.3 and image previews are not showing in preview panel. Had a look thro' docs and tried the suggested "click"/cmd click/ctl click to refresh/force refresh but no joy.
View 1 RepliesIn develop mode in LR 4.4 I get a small line through the middle of the image preview box in the navigation panel.
Why and how I might get rid of it? I used to get it in 4.3 and 4.1 too.
The selected image appears on the main/center panel but not in the preview screen. Printing results in a white sheet of paper with no image at all. The image has been updated to LR 4 - but made no difference.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've looked through the documentation, and searched the forum, and haven't found a clue as to why this is happening. On my Mac Mini, when I use the "Open..." dialogue, I get a list of files. Clicking on one should bring up a preview, as it does on my Windows 7 machine, but on the Mac the preview stays blank. Even if I try to force a preview update. This is with GIMP 2.8.8.
I never had a preview in my old Photoshop--but it'd be nice to get this to work.
When you're working on an image in GIMP, typically there's a bunch of selection and path spam all over the canvas, and checkered patterns for transparency, and all that stuff.
Is there a way to easily see what your image will look like when exported, without exporting it every single time you want to see what the image will look like?
I was just choosing a JPG to open in the gimp Open Image dialog andwhen I clicked on the image to open, I think the preview thumbnail wasof the same image in an uncropped and unprocessed form. Does gimp usesome type of embedded thumbnail as a preview image?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen objects are selected, they don't show up on the properties panel (or on the Quick Select panel either) It doesn't matter what method I use:
-Pick one object (lines, arcs, circles, blocks, etc), the Quick Properties flyout appears, but empty. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Window-select object or objects. Quick Properties bar shows up empty again. Properties flyout show "no selection"
-Click on the Quick Select icon. It prompts me to pick geometry. I do. The Quick Select window comes up, but where it says "Object Type", it only has the option "Multiple", and not the normal list of the geometry you selected.
Have Autocad 2011, as well as Autocad 2010 and Inventor 2010 (trial license) on the same machine.

Started working with PSE and when I tried to "stamp" a brush shape (whether default brushes or otherwise), the program does something it had never done before....SEE ATTACHED. I will create a new layer to use my brush, but when I try to "stamp" it onto background, the program then creates a layer mask where I can see the brush shape AND a new layer, however ALL that shows up on the background is the icon you can see in my screen grab I am attaching here. What is this icon? (The teeny one middle right of image, black square, outlined in red, with two red circles in the middle) I called Apple, we did a few things, they said it wasn't on there end. I reset my tools, I uninstalled, reinstalled, to no avail. Again, I've reset all tools, the "eye" icon on layers panel shows it should be visible, I've tried layers-->merge visible, I've uninstalled and reinstalled.....

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I want to import some pics and this statement comes up, " Preview unavailable for this file" see attached. I imported the pics once and then realized that I did not batch name them like I always do. So I deleted them from LR then renamed them in Bridge, then tried to important them again, it is a no go. So I have LR 4.1, I use Mac book pro, Mac os x version 10.7.4. I am pulling these pics off of my external Hard drive, I have never run into this problem before when I was using LR3.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the past few months, my ability to see the preview of a DNG file on my macbook pro (mountain lion - up-to-date) has been lost. I've been having some buggy issues with my computer, so this weekend I did an erase/clean install of Mt. Lion, and now I'm slowly adding everything back on. I have LR 4, and the CS5 creative suite (did all necessary updates last night on all software). I kept my fingers crossed that it's all I needed to do to finally see the DNG previews again. The major kicker is that I have access to all these files on another mac, with updated software, and I can view the previews just fine on it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a plotting issue with one of my drawings. It's not showing up on plot preview, or even when I print it.
Any other drawing I create under the same Page Setup print fine. The paper and viewport have been have been set up for a standard 8x11, and drawing appears in as normal in the viewport. The layers are ok with no attributes (i.e transparency) set as to affect the print output. The printer drivers are up to date, and really doesnt make sense as any drawings I create under the exact settings show up normally and print out with no problem. Really don't want to recreate the drawing from scratch.
I'm using autocad map 2000. In model view I have inserted a map as an external reference. Then I have created a plot in paper view. Here the xref background is still visible. However, when i choose plot-->full preview I can't see the xref, only the other lines I've created. I'm using a HP designJet 500 in ISO A1 and have the following plot option selected:plot lineweights, plot with plot styles, plot paperspace last.
The drawing is pretty useless without the map
When using the WBLOCK command, no thumbnail preview is being saved with the block for previewing in Windows Explorer. I have check the RASTERPREVIEW system variable is set to 1, but this makes no difference.
When saving files normally I do not have a problem.
I am relatively new to After Effects CC and am using it to create a stop motion film with a large amount of photos.Usually, when importing the individual images into my composition panel, a sequence of editable rectangles appears in the composition panel allowing me to edit the frame length of the still photos.
After around 950 imported images, the little rectangles suddenly stopped showing up. But when looking at a preview of the project, it's as if the photos are in there, in the sequence they should be. I'm just unable to edit them like the previous ones with rectangles showing.
The area of issue is where you see the descending sequence of boxes in the comp panel. The red tracking bar is there to show that there are still photos continuing the sequence.
So I have photoshop CS5, when I go and open a image and select it, in the preview thumbnail it shows the orignal file, without the edits but when I open the file it shows the cropped version. Is there any way I can get the original since it's showing in the thumbnail preview??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed X5 along with all service packs on my main PC (Win 7 Ultimate 64bt) everything works fine and has done since first install. To use media brushes I click on..
Artistic Media > Calligraphy (for example) in the drop down menu > select a nib style from the next drop down that displays 'samples' of the various nibs. All fine.
As I am having to also work from home too at present, I have installed X5 on my study PC. I try exactly the same proceedure on this other machine (similar spec but Win 7 Pro 32bt) with same service packs, same install disc etc.. and all I get is blank boxes, no nib previews. This happens if I am using standard Corel media or 3rd party brushes??

I've been searching for this for over a week & finally thought I'd better go to the experts!
I have a 2 page document that has CMYK on one side and 100% Gayscale (with 2 Grayscaled bitmaps) on the other side. My problem is that when I go to print preview it shows the Grayscale as CMYK Separations. My printer is counting it as color instead of grayscale so we are being charged much more than the grayscale would be. I haven't changed anything in my color profile and actually deleted my ColorSettings.xml and rebooted Corel Draw to reset the color profile default. Still no change.
What I am used to (& what I need) is for the print preview to show my page 1 as CMYK separations and my page 2 as black like it used to. I do a lot of ads and need to be able to determine if there is any color in my document when there shouldn't be.
Problem number 2 is that around my grayscaled bitmaps when my document is printed there are thin black lines showing up where the edge of the photo is. None of which shows up in print preview.
I am using Corel Draw X5, Windows 7 - 64 Bit
More than a problem, this is a doubt. Well, I was working on an illustration, just trying things here and there, and so I have many different layers of elements, some of them I want show, and some of them not (I don't want to delete them though, cause they may be useful later). At some point I realized that when I saved the file and went to see the preview (space bar) in its folder, the image had both hidden and shown elements.
So this is my doubt: is this normal? is there a way to show the preview with only the shown elements? Of course, when I export the file to .png, for example, I get the picture I should get (without the hidden stuff).
why I get these unusual radial lines showing up in my plot preview. The drawing looks fine on the screen but when I go to plot I get hundreds of lines that converge to a point in my preview.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen saving images in CS6 I can see them as preview icons of the image in finder by itself, but if I open a file in photoshop to find an image, i only have titles and not the images. ALSO when I go to upload an image to blog or facebook, again I have no image icon of what is there, only a blank space and a file name. I HATE THIS as it makes it takes too much time to figure out where the picture is. I am a graphic artist and a painter and I cannot work like this. Does not matter what type of file.. tiff, png, jpg etc... there is no image to see when opening through photoshop or any upload situation. I am able to see the images from FINDER by itself or if I am placing them into MUSE or INDESIGN.
Why I cannot see them to load on blogger or facebook or to open them in photoshop.

When I click on File>Open The dialog box no longer has a thumnail preview. Only a small grey box hovering on the right that says "Initial View" with a check box. I have attached a snapshot of my Autocad File> open dialog box so you can see what I'm getting on my end.
If I browse for files in windows explorer and change view option to thumbnail I can see the thumbnails just fine.
I've tried everything but I cannot get back my File> Open thumbnail preview.
In Tools> Options I have the thumbnail preview settings all set to save thumbnail preview image. Nothing has changed that I know if for the thumbnail preview to go away.
It's really slowing me down not being able to have thumbnail preview in the file> open dialog box.
