View 20 RepliesI'm trying to use Illustrator CS5 (as well as Photoshop CS5) on my Lenovo X61 Tablet (running Windows 7 32 bit) in 270° screen rotation (I think this is called secondary portrait mode in windows?), but my X and Y cursor positions are inverted. This means if my stylus is on the left half of the screen, my cursor will be on the right side, the same distance away from the right border as my stylus is from the left. Likewise if my stylus is somewhere in the top half of the screen, the cursor will be somewhere in the bottom half of the screen, the same distance from the bottom border as the stylus is from the top. The only time the cursor and stylus positions match is in the dead center of the screen.
The stylus is working properly in other applications in this screen rotation, including InDesign CS5 (the only other Adobe product I've tried with this), just not in Illustrator or Photoshop.
I am in the process of doing an animation for a PPT presentation. I have several series of images like the one attached which represents a card with some holes in it flat (if you like) on the desktop. I'd like to rotate the image 30 degrees about its vertical axis giving the (isometric) impression that it faces to the right (or left). Is there a functionality in Paint.NET which can achieve this?

1 - How to I remove the bottom label on the vertical axis (label 25.00 on the image below).
2 - How can I get only the start and end labels offset away from the line?
3 - Can I change the size of this title (SCALE 1:200) to be different from the CHAINAGE 10.00m title?
4 - My band sets are labeling grade breaks every 2m. Why does my grade breaks show at 2.24m/5.44m etc I would expect this to be 2/4/6/8/10/12/14m or is there a way I can change this so that they only label to major grade changes (i.e. the bottom of slopes).
Any way to move objects in vertical direction (z-axis) in 3d views, without having to turn the view everytime to be of frontal direction. I would like to move entire objects - for example mass objects - up or down directly in a 3d view of random orientation, now only top- or bottom face can be moved vertically, the whole object moves only on xy -plane. Can vertical movement of an object be done intuitively graphically and/or can it be be numerically, feeding coordinates?
Have tried all sources, but cannot find solution, and refuse to believe that Revit would be the only 3d/bim software on planet where direct vertical manipulation of objects is not possible.
I have a drawing with lots of text of rooms and their sizes. I would like to align the centers of the text so that they have all a middle alignment. just like in coreldraw we have an option of aligning the objects of text along a vertical axis is there such command in autocad?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working in ACAD 2012. I am at times, unable to draw simple vertical lines in the z-axis. Drawing pluming riser diagrams in 3D. Steps I am taking,
1) Opening the drawing.
2) X referencing a floor plan.
3) Changing the view using the cube to SW Isometric
4) Using the LINE command selecting a point, aligning the cursor with what seems like the Z-axis and entering the distance, heighten enter.
The line drawn is flat. This line can be seen as flat when rotating views. The only solution I have found is to use the "Reset Autocad Settings to Default"
Observations: Sometimes I am able to draw in 3D just fine, but something will happen in the middle of the drawing process that will now only allow me to draw flat. Also was never able to draw polylines in 3D is that how it's supposed to be? Used another computer with the same drawing, at first won't allow me to draw in 3D but after a couple attempts will eventually draw in 3D just fine. Tried starting from a blank template, no luck. Tried changing drawing space to 3D modeling and 3D basics, no luck. Also, when working drawings with existing 3D objects, I am able to snap to vertical point as a start point but cannot snap to a point on any other points on the object that at are at a different elevation.
Struggling with an Educational version of 3ds Max 2013, and all of a sudden I can't seem to draw a vertical line (or shape) up the z axis in the perspective view -- I seem to be locked to the x/y plane and am loosing my mind...
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the track view window, the Move Keys Horizontal and Vertical Buttons should restrict the movement of keyframes on the horizontal (time) or vertical (value) axis, but do not in my version of 3ds Max 2012 SP1. Work around include using the dope sheet or using the Keys > Slide or Keys > Scale Value menu items.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhile using the 3D extrude and bevel tool, specifically the isometric preset from the position drop down menu. I am noticing that when I expand the shape (in this case a perfect cube), the vertical paths are not exactly perfect, and are not truly vertical, but off slightly. Is this something that can be fixed or adjusted in the settings, or is this how the tool works?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to automatically project the x-axis, z-axis or z-axis onto the sketch plane?
I.e. every time you open a new sketch the corresponding lateral and vertical axis will be projected onto the sketch.
I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi try to make an animation. I create a cylinder and i want to rotate it by longitudinal axis. i click 'components', select the cylinder and after i click 'position' to select the axis that axis system appears in the right side of the cylinder not in the middle. If i continue whit this settings the cylinder will rotate by a circle not by his longitudinal axis. How can i move that axis sistem in the middle of the cylinder? I can drag it but can't place it exactly in the middle.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm rigging a shoulder pad to a biped and I'd like it to only rotate on one axis. Google hasn't been that useful, and I hope I don't need scripting for this kind of minor thing. I'm rather new to 3Ds Max Design but I'm learning fast and liking it so far!
I've attached what I want to effectively accomplish. I'm looking for a way to lock the z-axis of the object with the upper arm's z-axis.
EDIT: Reduced picture size.
Is there any way I can extract the rotation of a block relative to the yz axis and xy axis. I can extract the insertion point and xy rotation but not the yz and xz.
View 9 Replies View Relatedhow to create line graph of y vs. x having to sets of values.
I know how to open the data window and bring the data from external source.
How do I assign x and y values to the axes?
I'm doing a simple transform action. I want to move an object to a value on the Y axis. First of all, after recording the action, and setting the Y value to 64 px, the action is recorded as 64 pt, not px. This happens regardless of my 'Units' setting. Second, it ADDS the value to the current Y value, instead of just setting the new value, rendering the action useless.
Am I doing something wrong? I don't see a way to specify an absolute value vs a relative one. Is it just a limitation of Actions in Illustrator?
I have been using Elements 8 for some time and recently purchased an ASUS monitor that is at home in both vertical and horizontal modes. Can I change the Elements 8 format to work in a vertical format to accommodate the larger size possible with a vertical image. It is difficult to manipulate the functions in Elements when the mouse is working in a horizontal mode and you are viewing a large image in a vertical format. If the format of the Elements 8 software can be changes to vertical, any protocol (directions) to accomplish this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen turning on rulers, the default for the X axis is the left.
This is as should be and makes sense.
But why is the default for the Y axis the bottom? Shouldn't be the top? After all, other language versions, etc., aside, we're talking lets say :
Left to right, top to bottom flow of content and sight.
So why on earth would the Y axis start from the bottom and go up?
I have created two images that have gradients applied to them and want to join them together with the gradients.I can't stretch the image because the lighter gradient follows and I just want that on the outside edges of both as shown in the image.
In effect - i want to take a small slice of the darker gradient and continue it on the x-axis to the other image without distorting the gradient effects.
I have a line graph created in Illustrator with years on the horizontal axis (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, etc.). There is data for each year that will be plotted on the line, however I would only like to display every other year (1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, etc.). Is there a way to show every other year on the horizontal axis.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI think I might have accidentally used a wrong key command but as I was working on my digital art peice; the yellow from the layer I was working on turned green. So I thought to myself I must have accidentally pressed the key command for inverting the colors on the layer. But when I tried to invert it again, hoping it would turn to yellow again, it actually turned purple. So I zoomed in but then all of the other layers changed colors too. Some of the layers retained their original color but are still distorted and inverted.
I tried closing photoshop and reopening the document but to no avail. I also tried resetting all of the settings but that didn't do anything either. I think I'm going to have a heart attack if I can't fix this problem; I spent months on this and I have about a thousand layers ...
Every time I open a photo in PSD CC, It opens pixelated and inverted.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a few projects where the site plans are done by the Engineer in AutoCAD. They are campus-sized site plans so to re-create them in Revit would be too time consuming. So, I am linking them into my model.
So, what I have been doing is creating several masking regions around the perimeter of the site plan in Revit in order to 'crop' the sites as necessary - I do not want to create several different site plans in CAD and bring them in separately as to avoid multiple updating when the site changes).
Is there an 'inverse' masking region where the outside of the masking region is what masks instead of the inside of the enclosed masking perimeter?

I just purchase CS6 and I have not had time to do tutorials and I have a deadline to meet...
So I have been adding in some text over a .jpeg image. Then I am making them into a .dwg file. I have running into a lot of issues with the text though. In the .ai file the text is all horizontal. When I export it however the text turns vertical. I am looking at the file in Autodesk Truview 2014. Just wondering if this is a bug or there is some way to avoid this. I am also using Adobe CS2.
