I have two simple text objects (not textarea) and i'm trying to align them vertically to bottom.It aligns these text objects by bounding box, not by base line. How can i align text objects vertically by base line?
View 6 RepliesI have a variable number of text lines I would like to arrange along the path of half a circle. I would like the text to look like each text-string is radiating from the circle (the path I have as half a circle).
I would like to do this in adobe illustrator
I would like the text to be evenly spaced along the path dependent on how many lines of text I have.
I have seen other discussions suggesting either the blend-tool or the brush-tool. But no luck. The blend-tool would make distorted shapes in between, and would twist and distort the text. The brush tool would make each text a little bit 'cone-shaped', and I would prefer having the text without such a 'cone-shape'.
I am attaching a picture that halfway shows my intentions. In this diagram I have started rotating the first 4-5 text-lines. I have more text-strings (just above the half-circle) that I also would like to include along the path the half-circle is indicating.
The final goal is to get each of these locality-names raditing from the tips in the little red tree.
Is it possible in illustrator to align the text along a path like this? It is almost similar to the normal align objects and distribute objects.
I am working on a Mac OSX 10.5 Adobe Illustrator CS3.
I have a drawing with lots of text of rooms and their sizes. I would like to align the centers of the text so that they have all a middle alignment. just like in coreldraw we have an option of aligning the objects of text along a vertical axis is there such command in autocad?

This does not occur when aligning objects, nor text with an object.This only occurs (as far as I can tell) when aligning two or more sets of text alone.
When I enter the align and distribute window the vertical align checkboxes are greyed out with "Top" selected.
It is not possible to uncheck or select any other vertical align option. It is possible to "force" the window to deselect it by selecting "top" in the distribute tab, but this does not make the align options selectable again.
You can workaround this by creating a temporary object to align with your text.
software like indesign and coreldraw allow you to align centres of texts and objects.
for example if i have written the word bedroom and a rectangle of 3000 by 4500 is therem, i can select the text and the rectangle. press the aign to centre button and these two things will align their centres. how can i do that in autocad?
If you can use the ALIGN command to align multiple text objects in the Y-Axis? (or X-Axis as well)
I know about changing the X value of a bunch of text objects to align them that way. I'm just wondering if the ALIGN command will allow you to do something similar?
I want to do this without lisp too. If there are other methods I'm always wanting to learn! I just had a new cad user ask me about the ALIGN command and I couldn't get it to do it.
I am struggling to properly align text because the bounding boxes are not centered around the text. Therefore, when I try to align it with another object, it is off. I am using CS 6 and, generally, the point and type tool. it might be the type of font (that perhaps they are "bad" fonts) but it doesn't seem to matter which type of font I use. The bounding box always has extra space underneath the text, even when using a very standard font like Times New Roman.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'd like to know how to align an object in model space with the edge of my viewport in paperspace.
When I draw, I like to lay out multiple complete drawings in model space, make an appropriately scaled bounding box around them, and then snap a view port to the bounding box in my layout. I usually have multiple drawings lined up in a row in modelspace, so when I want a new layout I do a Save As and then pan around in my viewport to find the next bounding box, at which point I have to resize the viewport to get it to snap to the edges nicely. I really want to be able to to it the otehr way around- while panning I'd like to be able to grab a corner of my modelspace bouding box and snap it to the the corresponding corner of my viewport window. That way making new layouts would be a snap. Is there a way to do this in AutoCAD 2012 LT?
This is a recent phenomonom, the shade of objects changes depending on their vertical position on the artboard. If I move an object from the top of the artboard to the bottom it becomes lighter, and these changes remain even after it is saved as a png- this is driving me crazy!!! it is very slight, but still enough to cause a headache. If you look at this image you can see that the top blue box is slightly darker than the blue box at the bottom, event though this is the exact same box copied and pasted down the artboard.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have been adding in some text over a .jpeg image. Then I am making them into a .dwg file. I have running into a lot of issues with the text though. In the .ai file the text is all horizontal. When I export it however the text turns vertical. I am looking at the file in Autodesk Truview 2014. Just wondering if this is a bug or there is some way to avoid this. I am also using Adobe CS2.

When I zoom in as much as I can I see that the two objects edges are not exactly aligned to each other on one axis despite having the same co-ordinate values. I am working in meters unit value. I have tried going to millimeter unit setup but I still have the object aligning issue using what seems to be the finest level of movement - 3 millimeters per movement action.

While using the 3D extrude and bevel tool, specifically the isometric preset from the position drop down menu. I am noticing that when I expand the shape (in this case a perfect cube), the vertical paths are not exactly perfect, and are not truly vertical, but off slightly. Is this something that can be fixed or adjusted in the settings, or is this how the tool works?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIf you have raster (or vector) item on seperate layers, I know I can link all the layers together, but when I select the MOVE tool and press the button that centers to the middle of the canvas, it moves every item to the center of the canvas (as it should) But these items, when viewed "together" make up an element that I'd like to be considered "grouped" so the "collectively" then are centered to the canvas as one item. Is this possible?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.

Use mouse to drag layer to the center of canvas. (This does not result in the accuracy for which I was hoping, unless I do some math to determine and pinpoint the proper location and try to keep my hand steady.)
Cut, copy, paste. (This renders the text uneditable.)
There isn't an align feature?
Alright, I made a custom bookshelf to fit under my stairs, however, when I created them, I made them on a horizontal plane, so when I loaded into my project, my book shelf is laying down in the middle of the living room floor, which was fun at first, but nearly an hour later I am not so amused. Is there a way to flip it vertically or do I have to remake the whole bookshelf?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do not know if this is something weird with Creative Cloud, but I use Illustrator A LOT to do art. Recently, I noticed that if I take a complex shape with angles and curves that I make with the pen tool, and I Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+F it will, like normal, stack the items directly on top of one another, or I can edit copy, and edit paste in place/ in front, etc. So, I have two of the same shape exactly on top of one another. For my example we change the bottom shape to a different color to make it show up when we scale it, and go up and transform the bottom shape bigger, by clicking transform, scale- lets say to 110%. My problem is now the items seem to be touching and overlapping in places on the edge. They seem to no longer have the same center spot aligned with one another, and I never moved either shape. i just scaled one. I just noticed this the other day, and like I said, I make pattern art in illustrator all the time. It doesn't happen if you do this with a circle or a square or a star, just strange shapes you create with the pen tool with lots of points.

Using the grafic text, it aligns directly on/ over the outline of the oval shape. But I won't have the whole text in a round - I just want to have the paragraph's left side to be aligned/ positioned at the outer shape of the oval.
