The DVD is a music DVD and thus I have text for each song name in the chapter list. I have created each song title on a different layer, but wish to align each of those texts in a position that is central (horizontally) on the page. Is there a quick way to do this?
View 3 RepliesI'd like to know how to align an object in model space with the edge of my viewport in paperspace.
When I draw, I like to lay out multiple complete drawings in model space, make an appropriately scaled bounding box around them, and then snap a view port to the bounding box in my layout. I usually have multiple drawings lined up in a row in modelspace, so when I want a new layout I do a Save As and then pan around in my viewport to find the next bounding box, at which point I have to resize the viewport to get it to snap to the edges nicely. I really want to be able to to it the otehr way around- while panning I'd like to be able to grab a corner of my modelspace bouding box and snap it to the the corresponding corner of my viewport window. That way making new layouts would be a snap. Is there a way to do this in AutoCAD 2012 LT?
Is it possible to move an object by its centre and not the default origin of BLH corner?
I'm a CAD designer and I use XDP7 to accuratly register graphics to frontplates, but the current method of calculating the offset for each object is very tedious.
The selector tool info bar has a 9 square grid that a pop up says "Set Orign Position" but sadly this is for rotating only. It would be useful to toggle to colour of these squares to set both.
I know that XDP7 "knows" the centre of an object as the "Arrange" function uses it, but what I want to do is set an object origin to the centre and to be able to use the X Y "Position of Selection" numbers to move it.
If you have raster (or vector) item on seperate layers, I know I can link all the layers together, but when I select the MOVE tool and press the button that centers to the middle of the canvas, it moves every item to the center of the canvas (as it should) But these items, when viewed "together" make up an element that I'd like to be considered "grouped" so the "collectively" then are centered to the canvas as one item. Is this possible?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulty getting objects to exactly align to another. When I zoom in as much as I can I see that the two objects edges are not exactly aligned to each other on one axis despite having the same co-ordinate values. I am working in meters unit value. I have tried going to millimeter unit setup but I still have the object aligning issue using what seems to be the finest level of movement - 3 millimeters per movement action.

I am currently drawing a lithography mask in Autocad 2013 student version, where I created a lot of arrays. My problem is that I can't seem to align these structures. Some of them need to be aligned along the y-axis and some along the x-axis.

for example if i have written the word bedroom and a rectangle of 3000 by 4500 is therem, i can select the text and the rectangle. press the aign to centre button and these two things will align their centres. how can i do that in autocad?
Is there a way to align multiple objects along the same axis as the further most object? As an example, to have the right side of three boxes line up with the right side of the box furthest to the right.

I know about changing the X value of a bunch of text objects to align them that way. I'm just wondering if the ALIGN command will allow you to do something similar?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI notice that when copying and pasting objects to another part of the same drawing it does not appear to be possible to get an exact alignment with the grid structure. I have done this with OSNAP switched OFF and with Snap ON but it does not give the desired result, the elements of the copied drawing always being just off the grid and not in true alignment.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a variable number of text lines I would like to arrange along the path of half a circle. I would like the text to look like each text-string is radiating from the circle (the path I have as half a circle).
I would like to do this in adobe illustrator
I would like the text to be evenly spaced along the path dependent on how many lines of text I have.
I have seen other discussions suggesting either the blend-tool or the brush-tool. But no luck. The blend-tool would make distorted shapes in between, and would twist and distort the text. The brush tool would make each text a little bit 'cone-shaped', and I would prefer having the text without such a 'cone-shape'.
I am attaching a picture that halfway shows my intentions. In this diagram I have started rotating the first 4-5 text-lines. I have more text-strings (just above the half-circle) that I also would like to include along the path the half-circle is indicating.
The final goal is to get each of these locality-names raditing from the tips in the little red tree.
Is it possible in illustrator to align the text along a path like this? It is almost similar to the normal align objects and distribute objects.

Just downloaded from adobe the help centre zip with the following insructions:
1. Exit photoshop
2. Copy zip to AdobeAdobe helpcentreAdobe helpdatapackages
3.launch Adobe Helpcentre.exe. in Adobe helpcentreAHC.exe.
4. Exit Aobe Help Centre.
The above instructions are very clear.The problem is: I cannot find any Adobe Help centre file.I have searched throuout the Adobe system without success.
Ok I have been trying to figure this out for about half an hour now and its getting me mad because I can't do it.
I have an object on a layer and I want it aligned to the centre of the canvas how the hell can this be achieved I have tried everything surely there must be an option to align it?
If one drags a layer from one image to another while holding shift, the layer will be placed in the center of the canvas it's dragged to. What I want to do is just move a layer to the exact center of the canvas. I have in the past, when deperate, done so by moving it to a different image and then back while holding shift.

Is there a way to zoom out without being panned towards the centre? I'm working on the corner of an image and occasionally zoom out to see it in context but the view flies towards the centre so I have to pan back again.

1. I have two lines, they represent a winding footpath of varying width, I would like to create a centre line between the two (not just eyeball it in)
2. I would like the centre line to be graduated every 5m, with parallel lines that join/cross the shoulder lines

I thought of using the divide tool, but it divides the line into equal segments, can I nominate how long those segments are
when I create a pattern using the new pattern maker and I apply it to say a rectangle, how can I make sure that the pattern is centred? For example I have a chevron pattern that I want to fill a rectangle, but I want to make sure that the chevron pattern is dead centre.

What I am trying to do is have me in the same picture twice as 2 different people I know you do this using a layer mask and then using the brushes as I said above
But when I open both images and drag one onto the other how do I line them up exactly the same so when I do use the brush tool and brush away both images match up exactly the same underneath
I am locking the camera down with a tripod and its kept in the same position for both shots but what i have noticed is if you do not line both images up exactly the same you have like a ghost effect if you know what i mean
I was wondering when I align a layer to another layer, if there was a way to do it so that only one layer moves. I.e. in visio when you select your first object, that becomes the Master, and all other objects you click after this will all sync to the master, rather than what seems to happen to me in PS, i.e. both layers are moved a little. I'd like to be able to allow the first layer i click on to be static, and any other layres align to it only. can this be done?

When i try and add a structural shape via manage tab / author - I get the following message Structural Shape Library cannot be found or Content Centre isnt logged in, please check it and try again. i have checked the active project and it includes the content centre location. Also in an Assembly I do not have the option of placing from content centre.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have just updated to Inventor 2013 (from 12) and none of our models which contain BSi libraries are working. I understand BSi is within 'Other' CC library.
I have tried copying the idcl files from 2012 CC libraries into into 2013 but Inventor 2013 is not recognizing them. Within the 'update libraries' dialogue box the are listed in red and 'not available'
I've been floundering around for a few days now trying various fixes from the net without success.
For a while now whenever I open a new assembly the default is place from content centre, I use the drop-down and select place.
Today I needed place from content centre and it just doesn't come up.
It is loaded/automatic in the addins.
If I open my projects, in the bottom right corner where I would usually click to acess my installed libraries, I click but it does nothing!
I also noticed studio and BIM are greyed out, but I have started to play with Showcase so not really a problem. I need to set up a read/write library soon, so it's going to be a problem.
I'm using illustrator (CS6) to animate a simple marionette type figure.
I'm using the Rotation tool to turn body parts around their usual connection points, moving the transform centre point each time. I'm wondering if it's possible to "lock" the centre point for any individual object to a certain offset from the object's actual centre, so that every time I reselect an object to move it I'm always rotating it around exactly the same place. I find that if I have to move the centre point from the real centre to where I want to rotate around every time, I'm not getting the exact same spot in relation to the object's bounds, which makes for some weird movements.
For example, the rectangle that makes up the upper arm should have its rotation point always about ten pixels down from the top and in the horizontal centre of the object. The elbow right at the top edge, but also in the horizontal centre, of the lower arm. etc.
How would you create a path which traces the central path of text. Not an outline path..Or the fill when you create outlines
If you imagine a single line following the middle of text. This would then allow me to place circles on the path to allow me to use for making rhinestone tshirts.
