I'm trying to link an image in psd file on the Illustrator. PReviously, it has no problem, however, today when I try to do that it didn't appear in illustrator. It only have a rectangular box with an X across it. I have tried to do stuff like Bring forward or Bring to the front, but it didn't work.
i wish to set up a mobile reciever device that can integrate with an autocad dwg drawing to show my physical location in the real world as a point on the drawing screen in real time.Â
I guess you would say it would work exactly the same way a GPS map works however instead of using the GPS and street map i would be substituting in a construction site base station and autocad drawing.
p.s the "Leica" system will not do the job for me. from my search so far it mainly works with elevations rather than lateral positioning in real time. i do not want to have to constantly move emitters and or receivers on the worksite in order to track my movements in real time and display them on the cad drawing i have in front of me!
Within the last 18 months, I've run across an Adobe TV tutorial describing how to eliminate power lines in an image but I'm unable to find the show. method besides just using the cloning tool? Or, know of the tutorial?

When I placed the images in Illustrator, I noticed that some of the images show too much noise... do you know why this is happening? It look fine in Photoshop, but not in Illustrator. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a fairly novice user of Illustrator. I have my company logo in an .AI and .PNG format. I need to "shrink" the image while perserving the image quality. I am trying to design an ad for my business and the file is too big for the dimensions of the ad in photoshop. When i attempt to reduce the file size (Edit--> Free Transform) I am able to "shrink" the logo down to fit (about 70% reduction), but it turns out very blurry and not sharp. The sharpen filter does not seem to work.

I have been told I need to take the .AI file, and shink the logo there, then converting to a PNG to be placed into the ad. I **think** I did this, but the image still turns out blurry.
I have a picture in Illustrator CS3 and I'm trying to make a vector for a t-shirt. I want to remove the brown background, but I'm unable to select the background. I select image, live trace etc (6 colors), but stil unable to select only the background, only the whole picture. Not sure what to do here.

How do I do this in my illustrator document?
I am working with Illustrator files that have psd images placed in them. Each image has a shadow that is a separate image placed into illustrator on separate layer. So what I end up with is "image" layer and a "shadow" layer with their respective images in them. What I would like to do without having to group these is somehow linking images on separate layers so that when I move one the other moves as well.

I know that this isn`t a very logical way of managing these objects and if I could I would do it differently but it is a work method that is implemented and I have to abide to.
I have just converted to Illustrator CS6 Creative Cloud and can't get placed JPG files in Illustrator to link to Photoshop? Only PSD files will open Photoshop when I click on "Edit Original".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working with some files that must be saved as .ai files and then emailed. I linked a photo, gave it a drop shadow and saved the file. The original file without the photo was about 1.5 mb. The size of the photo is about 2 mb. After I linked the file and then saved it, my .ai file was 21 mb which is too large to email. Why is the file size so large, especially when the picture is not embedded?

This is the first I've noticed this, but a sketch in an assembly does not allow to show the dimensions as an expression? In a .ipt sketch you can right click and the pop-up menu has an option to show the dimensions in different forms. I do not get this in an assembly sketch.
I do not know if this is me or not. It's just curious that it does not do that.
I have a problem with Bill Of Materials in drawings.
I want to show a structured list of the top level components in this general arrangement. But whenever i select a view for inventor to create the table it only gives me to option for 'Components Only.'
I have edited the assembly and switched off the 'Components only' option in the IAM, but it still will only let me put a parts only BOM into the drawing. I have right clicked the node in the IDW browser and selected 'bill of materials' and here i have also switched off 'parts only' but still the same.
How do i get a top level BOM into my drawing?

Changed printer from HP to Canon today and cannot get into the print from PSE 9 mac - no image on photo. I re-installed PSE 9 and still the problem remains.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLR 5 is unable to show images of my photos when importing from my Cannon EOS 400. LR3 was able to. Now, in each image frame, I get a message "image not available". The images import correctly, and I can edit them, but I am not able to prescreen them, etc. prior to importation. I have not installed the EOS raw management software. The only other photo editing software I use is IrfanView, as a quick viewer only. I'm running Windows 7, on a Dell Quad core, with mobile NVidea card and plenty of memory.

In my drawing there is tie rod item ( find attached file) i have shown hidden line of only this part . and i have to select all items one by one.
I'll restart the computer, and then photoshop and it will let me work on it for a short time, then it won't pull up an image. I had CS4 and decided to upgrade to the monthly photoshop to see if that would fix it and nope, it started again!
