Lightroom :: Unable To Get The Filmstrip To Show Images?
Mar 9, 2012the film strip at the bottom of my screen shows only a black blank strip. I have turned on every option that I can.

Lightroom :: No Flags Show In Filmstrip?
May 5, 2012I have just upgraded to lightroom 4 and can not see the flags in the film strip. They are checked in the preferences as on, but they don't show. Also some folders say no photo selected in a folder, while there are photo's inside?

Aug 18, 2013LR 5 is unable to show images of my photos when importing from my Cannon EOS 400. LR3 was able to. Now, in each image frame, I get a message "image not available". The images import correctly, and I can edit them, but I am not able to prescreen them, etc. prior to importation. I have not installed the EOS raw management software. The only other photo editing software I use is IrfanView, as a quick viewer only. I'm running Windows 7, on a Dell Quad core, with mobile NVidea card and plenty of memory.

Feb 10, 2014I have a filmstrip of 500 plus images. Sometimes I need to "Edit in an external editor" on an image, in my case Elements 11. On selecting, EDIT IN, the original image plus the Elements 11 editied image move along to the end of the filmstrip. I then have to go to LIBRARY module, grid view and move both of these images back to their original location at the filmstrip. That is ok if you only have a few images but time consuming when you have 500 images.

Lightroom :: Adobe 3.2 Does Not Show Any Images
Sep 9, 2010I just updated to Lightroom 3.2 this week. It worked fine the past few days. Then last night, it started kind slow, then showed images shown in Library grid/strip view for any images. But it still show meta data. And no images in Develop tab. But if I move the mouse on the image area, the RGB values in histogram (upper right) still changes with differnt values. Just no images. And it still shows the shooting data.
I reinstalled it twice and oit still behave the same.
Then I build a new catalog. I see images only in the pre-import screen. Once a folder is imported, no images in this new catalog.
I also tried to clear cache, removed preferrance, and then create a new catalog. When I tried to import my images, there is a little triangle showing on top of each image, clicked and it said" Lightroom has some difficulty import the image file".
But PS CS5 Bridge and PS CS5 works just fine. I can actually right click on a grid (even though not seeing the real image or preview) and edit in PSP CS5.
BTW, the day before yesterday's problem, I was watchng the new Lightroom tutorial from this site (which I bought) and adjusted preference,... I don't know whether such a change of setting may cause Lightroom having difficulty seeing images.
Lightroom :: 4.3 Images Do Not Show In Photoshop CS4?
Mar 11, 2013Running Lightroom 4.3 on Vista, I cant pass processed Canon EOS 6D RAW images to Photoshop CS4. when selecting to edit in CS4, Photoshop runs but no image appears. There is no error message. In Lightroom Photoshop editor preferences it makes no difference whether I select PSD of TIFF. Is thsi because CS4 is passed an incompatible RAW file... if so whyt no error message?

Jan 5, 2014I would edit some light work on my images and then export it into a folder. It would look fine and have all the features that I edited. Whenever I upload it to other places, it wouldn't take the edits I made and it shows up as the orginal image or maybe a darkened version of it (I'm not sure). The only place that actually takes my edited images as edited, is 500px. For facebook, there were times when I uploaded and it didn't take my edits, but when I exported the image again to a higher resolution of Jpeg, facebook would take the edits.
I wanted to print some photos so I uploaded them to costco or shutterfly, but the images are not the way I edited in Lightroom.
Lightroom :: 3.3 Doesn't Show All Images Of A Folder
Dec 30, 2010I have used Lightroom since version 1.0 and at the moment I am using v3.3.
Now I have following problem and I can't find a solution for it: In the Navigator I have synchronized my complete folder where I store all of my photos. This folder contains more than 50000 photos already in many subfolders. But now I found some subfolders not showing all their content. I can see in the Navigator e.g. 216 pictures beside the folder name but in the preview I can see only 3 pictures! And I found some more folders which doesn't show their full content.
I tried to sychronize the single folder again but Lightroom says there were no new pictures and also no missing pictures to remove from the folder. If I open the folder by the Windows Explorer then I can see that all the files for the 216 pictures are there! So there must be a problem with the lightroom database!
But now I don't know what to do to get the pictures displayed in the library again.
Lightroom :: The Images Show As Grey In The Preview?
Dec 26, 2011When I import images I cannot see them in the previews. I have set 1:1, standard, and minimal but it makes no difference. The images show as grey in the preview. When I go to the develop modual I can see the image I select but if I select another image the first goes gray again. For some reason I cannot render previews. Have I turned something off or on? Can I render previews after importing images? The files show up as DNG in my hard drive.

Mar 13, 2014When I am viewing my images in the catalog, I don't know why it takes so long for my edited pics to render. It takes about 5 seconds. Is this normal?
I have tried increasing my cache size, auto xmp is off, I have build standard previews, I have upgraded to a faster hard drive, I frequently optimize my catalog.
Ideally, I want to be able to flip through all my catalog images fast without waiting for the developed pics to show.
The only thing I can thing is maybe storing my cache and catalog folders on my external hard drive is slowing it down?
Lightroom :: Collection Shows 48 Images - Not Show Up?
Jun 2, 2012I created a collection called, "favorites." The catalog indicates there are 48 images in that collection; however, the images do not show up. (This seems to be different from the "missing" problem - I understand how that can happen...) don't know where to look and don't know if I have lost those images somehow? I have approximately 25 other collections, all of which seem fine.

All the functions of the program are working but the images of the photos don't show up.Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the program? Can I do that and still have the trial time of 30 days? Apr 3, 2012Recently my hard drive took a (hike) and crashed - data may or may not be recoverable (Geeks are working on that), and I needed to reinstall my CS5 and Lightroom software to a new hard drive (I had to buy a new one). All of my RAW photos are stored on an external drive and were not harmed. Here is my dilemma. Most of the presets I used also went crashing with that hard drive, (yes I believe they were backed up but also on that hard drive...stupid I know-trust me I know!!) but most of them were the free ones from the adobe recommended users on this site. I actually found many of my favorites still posted on the Adobe site and re-downloaded and installed the presets I'd been using the past year and a half, and imade sure those presets were housed properly in their folder via Preferences in Lightroom. Great. I can continue on with my work. WRONG! When I went to go import a recent shoot that I had already edited, it imported the RAW files but none of the previous edits I had worked on for these photos were showing up...it was as if I didn't even touch them and they came right from my camera. What in the world is going on? I'm baffled...and freaking out as I have thousands upon thousands of edited shoots in RAW, and I fear that none of the edits and enhancements made to those photos are going to be present and I'll have to start over. that all of my last 2 years of editing photos are still with the RAW files?!!!
I found a deal on a an HP Intell Core i7 processor) 2 TB hard drive tower, so I ended up needing to install the 64 bit versions of CS5 and Lightroom 3.6. I did test out the RAW (.NEF) file in Photoshop CS5 and my edited RAW image came up "correctly" - so I know that the information is still with the RAW image...I just need it to work and show in lightroom, as it is easier to export the files to the sizes I need them to be.
Lightroom :: Photos / Filmstrip Not Showing In 4?
Mar 6, 2012Downloaded LR4 this morning, backed up and upgraded the catalog. None of my photos appear in the Develop Module when I switch to that module from the Folders, though they appear when I switch from a Smart Collection, but not a standard Collection. It shows "No Photo Seclected". Regardless of where I switch from, no photos appear in the filmstrip in the Library or Develop module, though the location menu just above the filmstrip shows the correct number of photos in that particular folder. I'm on a late model iMac, OS 10.7.3, with 12 GB RAM.

Feb 15, 2014If I use the Develop module in LR to edit CR2(Raw) images and want to complete the editing it in CS5 there is no option to 'edit a copy with lightroom adjustments'. I get the option with Jpeg images but not Raw. If I choose Edit in CS5 I just get the original file and not the one I have been working on. How do I ask LR to edit my developed image in CS5? Dec 21, 2013I have been unable to import images into Lightroom 5.2 and 5.3 for the past several days. Worked fine before. There have been similar discussions on this topic, but none identical. When I try to import from a cf card, no images show up to import. In the import dialog, if I click on other source and navigate through directories on my hdd, all the images are greyed out. This is true even for images that are not in my catalog. I have tried creating a brand new catalog with the same results on import. I have deleted all the preferences files. I upgraded from 5.2 to 5.3 and that did not fix the problem. I do not have the original dmg for Lightroom so am unable to try a complete re-installation.

Do I need to turn something on to make them appear? It is making navigation much more difficult while developing (I can only view one image at a time while developing).
