I opened a new file...Then I tried to place a jpg and it wouldn't allow me. I started getting some missing plugin errors, tried to relaunch illustrator and I cannot. I get the Missing Required plugins PDF Format.aip error. I also cannot re-install as I don't have back-up disk, I work for a non-profit always on a budget.
The PDF Format.aip is in the packages.
Was working fine last I logged in, now says that plugins are missing namely 'envelope & pathfinder'. Will open file but I can't do anything..?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was initially getting an error message when attempting to open Illustrator 6 on my Mac (running 10.6.8). An unknown error has occurred (4294967253). Adobe Illustrator will now quit. I read a post where the user was to select shift+option+command right after booting up. When I did that, a dialog box popped up asking if I'd like to participate in submitting feedback to Adobe and asked for my profession, location, industry, etc. It then attempted to open a new file but gave the following error: The document 'Print.ai' contains elements that are managed by plug-ins that are not currently available. You can delete or expand these elements but you cannot manipulate them in other ways. The missing plug-ins are listed below. Stroke Offset Live Effect (StrokeOffset.aip). I can open an existing file, but no tools are available to edit with and I get additional errors regarding missing plug-ins. My Mac has also been running a bit slow lately as well...not sure if the two issues are connected, but I'm willing to try anything to meet an impending deadline. I have plenty of space remaining on my computer, so that can't be it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using CS5 Illustrator for over a year now and have had no problems until yesterday when I opened illustrator and was unable to place any images.
I can click on 'place' and go find the file, it appears to go through the right process then there is no image on the artboard at all, anywhere. Then I decided to open up previously made files that contain placed images and all they have is a bounding box with no image. The Links panel recognises the name of the file but no image is visable, even as a thumbnail.
Just update Illustrator CC and now my program won't open. Saying Missing Required Plugins – PDF File Format.

When I click the Plugin manager, LR tells med that the plugins are installed and working, but they do not show up in the export dialog. The actual plugin files are stored in the folder C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2, the program folder.
I've got about 4 hours of work into solving the dreaded "Photoshop: CS6 saves in wrong file format on MacOS when trying to load obsolete plugins" (Aside: I don't suppose I can send Adobe an invoice for billable hours?? Naw, never happen.)
I could still not get CS6 PS to open and "save as" correctly. All of my plug-ins were current and the only linked ones were reinstalled after PS was updated. URL.... I saw multiple mentions of the "Standard Multiple Plugin" as a possible source of the problem. Found this file in /Library/ Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins. (Mac OS X 10.7.5) Removed the file and PS does what it should: defaults to all file formats on open and allows any format to be selected on "save as."
Get Info identifies this file as an Adobe plugin ver. 12.0.2 created and modified 7/18/11 obviously well before I got CS6. It also shows an Adobe copyright (2003-2010) message so this is NOT a third party plugin, nor is it a bad symlink, nor is it an outdated 3rd party plugin. Since this was placed there by the Adobe install and not modified by the CS6 upgrade, I can only conclude that Adobe wanted it there.What - if anything- will happen without this file in place and if it is necessary where does one obtain a new one?
I did not copy any old plug-ins to the new program nor did I have any bad aliases nor did I have multiple copies of anything.

Those I am missing are ones that I had in an external folder that you could set in preferences. The ability to set an Additional Plugin Folder is gone. Can I set an external plugin folder?
I am missing all the default Plug-ins from Photoshop CS6 from the Creative Cloud. I have uninstalled it. Used the Adobe Cleaner Tool. Done this over and over 4x and the Plug-ins are still missing from the new installation. It is like the Cloud is only re-installing the previous bad version. I also check don't migrate and don't save preferences.

For some reason, when I drag and drop the material from the material editor onto the object in the view port, the material does not apply.
This is how I always have applied materials and I can't figure out what is happening. Neither the space bar lock, nor Freeze are in effect.
I have a psd image containing a number of layers, and a png image with a transparent background. I want to place the png image in the psd image but I'm not having much luck. If I copy and paste the png image, all I get is a selection outline, not the image itself. I created a new layer for the psd image before pasting, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.

I've tried to save as in Acrobrat and then place, get the same message. I've opened the file in Photoshop to re save and get an error message. View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having difficulty placing components in my Revit Architecture 2012 model. They are wall hosted (outlets) & floor hosted (floor boxes) components. I have taken the MEP, Base Building, Interiors, and Structural models and linked them into my new file. I have linked them in as overlay. Should I have changed the reference type to attachment?
When I go to place my components I recieve the following notifications from Revit and am unable to click any walls or floors: "Click on Wall to place Instance" (outlets) "Click on Floor to place Instance" (floor boxes). How do I set up these linked files so I can place my families?
I am using Windows 7 64bit and Inventor 2012 SP1 (Build 190). When placing a new content center item an error message of "Unable to place component" is reported. Content center was working previously.
I determined the problem resulted in using a custom Date format in the Windows Region and Language setting. To duplicate go to Control Panel -> Region and Language ->Formats Tab -> Additional settings button -> Date tab and change the Short date format to a custom format (I was using ddd M/dd).
To fix simply reset to a standard date format.
Note that this can be done whilst Inventor is running and I have have submitted a bug report. None of the standard date formats resulted in errors. I have tested "ddd-dd/M", "ddd/MMM/yyyy", "yyyy/MM/dddd", and "yyyy-MM-ddd" and all resulted in an error. "yyyy-MM-dd" did not result in any error.
I am trying to open a video to edit within Photoshop CS6 x64. I am getting the following message:-
Could not place the document ‘IMG_1664.MOV’ because no parser or file format can open the file.
The video was shot on my iphone 4S and ive even tried converting to other formats yet Photoshop still gives the same error. I have checked through Bridge and I have no option to send to Photoshop on the right click menu. try out the new features of CS6 for video editing.
I am running a 27" iMac with 12gb RAM and 1gb of Video RAM.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a licensed version of Photoshop CS5, already updated to the latest patch. However, for some reason my copy of Photoshop seems to be missing the option to save a file as .tga.
From reading multiple forum posts relating to Photoshop, the function to save as .tga should already be built in, and not require a plugin.
There may also be some other missing file formats that I am not aware of.
Inside VS 2010 the datetime components format the date string as "dd/MM/yyyy"
Inside autocad 2012 the date formatting is "dd/MM/yyyy"
but inside the .net appication that I am writing, the date.now returns "MM/dd/yyyy" and the compents also reformat to "MM/dd/yyyy" so I end up with lots of "invalid date string" errors
I am editing a jpeg file. I have noticed that when I try to save the file it does not offer the jpeg format. Neither "save" nor "save as" offers a jpeg format.
How do I export a JPEG file format?
