GIMP :: Place Card Image Onto Format That Prints Sheet Of Avery Labels?
Mar 29, 2012
I am making some new business cards in Gimp 2.6.11 on Windows OS. What is the best way to place the card image onto a format that prints a sheet of Avery labels? Is that an external plugin? Where would I find that resource?
When I went to make my business cards, I had the settings at 2in x 3.5in 300dpi in GIMP.
When I go to print them as business cards using GimpLabels, you can only see the very top portion of my image. After switching the ruler settings to pxl (in the corner) I noticed my image is actually 2500 pixels by 3500 pixels. Obviously a business card is not that big. So... Is there anyway to easily scale this to the correct size?
I actually have about 10 different versions of this card I have to print.... So it would really suck if I'd have to go in an manually scale every one of them. It would be nice if GimpLabels would scale it itself you know?
I have an image that has elements pasted in from PNG files, and those elements have some shades of green. I want printed output in gray scale only, so I did Image -> Mode->Grayscale. The image on screen went gray as I wanted. When I print it, however, I get an image in which *some* of the colored parts still are colored!
I have a psd image containing a number of layers, and a png image with a transparent background. I want to place the png image in the psd image but I'm not having much luck. If I copy and paste the png image, all I get is a selection outline, not the image itself. I created a new layer for the psd image before pasting, but obviously I'm doing something wrong.
A book scan produced about 250 images (one per page) that have gray around the edges where the old paper was yellowed (almost brown). I want to write a batch program to place a white frame of a specified width around the perimeter of the images to eliminate this unwanted gray. How can I do this?
I have an older drawing with an outdated sheet format. I'm wanting to update to a new custom sheet format without having to redimension and recreate views. Is it possible to just update the sheet format?
how do I reduce the size of an image and place it adjacent to another image. Let me explain it a bit better. I live on the Corner of two streets . A lamp post with the name of one of the streets is on the corner. I want to reduce the size of and place the image of the other street on the same lamp post.
I am trying to resize a logo to place on a business card. When I insert the logo and hit ctrl+shift to resize with the cornerbox I shrink it and the box becomes smaller but the image stays the same size. So pretty much it is merely just zooming into the logo and cutting off the picture. It is a jpeg. file. Beginner at InDesign here.
Before downloading GIMP I just want to double check that I can import a satellite image, in pdf or jpeg format, as a background which I can draw over with all the available tools.
I also would like to use a grid over the drawing for scale.
I am trying to resize an A4 immage so that it will print on 4 A4 sheets, making it an A3. I have tried but I did'nt manage to do it, it resized it back to A4.
I want the stationing information in display, labels etc to be in the format: x+xxx.xxx. What I get by default is XX+XX.XXX. How can I my desired label format style and lock it?
How to print a sheet of pictures 2x3.5 (business card size). I have reduced the size of the picture but I can't figure out how to fill a sheet with this image and print it.
I opened a new file...Then I tried to place a jpg and it wouldn't allow me. I started getting some missing plugin errors, tried to relaunch illustrator and I cannot. I get the Missing Required plugins PDF Format.aip error. I also cannot re-install as I don't have back-up disk, I work for a non-profit always on a budget.
When publishing a sheet set some of my annotation labels are not showing up. If I open the sheet, they are there, set to print and everything is correct. If I print just that sheet, everything is fine. Only happens in publish. It's almost like the publish command isn't giving the drawing enough time to open and load everything before printing.
How can i print contactsheets with labels, flags, stars.... in the print? I 'm working on a collection of + 7.000 files and i need a printed catalog of all the files with all the selection marks on the file.
When I make a print from CS6 the image on paper is narrower than the stated dimension in the program. The height of the image is faithfully reproduced. I know that there must be a preference setting to correct this but I can't remember which one it is.
Every now and then I'll have a sheet that will not accept placement of another model view from the sheet set manager. (There are usually two or more model views already on the layout). Every attempt will cause AutoCAD to crash. I run recover and audit and the problem persists.
Today I did something differently. I added a new layout, and successfully placed the model view on that layout (I accepted the condition that the layout was not part of a sheet set). Then I went back to the layout I really wanted the model view on and was able to place it without any problem. The significant difference I can see is that I usually have only one layout (I typically delete layouts I don't use which leaves only one layout). It seems to me that having one layout and only one layout while attempting to place a model view on it could very well be the cause of this random crash problem. I have not been able to confirm this yet but the next time I crash trying to place a model view, the first thing I will try is to add a new layout.

I recently started working on Inventor 2013 and I'm trying to copy a drawing view in order to place it on another sheet. Unfortunatly I see no copy option. Am I doing sth wrong or it's due to the changes in the version?

The problem I`m having is that I have some text I want to have printed out. When viewing the image on GIMP the text image is the proper size that I want. When I print it out on my epson printer the text is much smaller. I called Epson and they said it must be a setting in GIMP. how to correct this? The file is a .png file.
At center line I want to place a small perpendicular line in specific length and put their coordinate to excel sheet(export coordinates).
I have already two programs for this, one for placing objects on curve with specific length and 2nd for pick & export coordinates to excel or other type of file. but this is very lengthy process & need too big time. but I think it cab be done in a single command written in lisp.
Im trying to get a sheet format to save and stay in the sheet format folder under drawing resources for every drawing i make. i've watched videos and read books and searched on here but just couldn't find the right fix.
i have made the title block, border, and sheet size. named them and saved them. while its open everything is where it should be, then if i open a new sheet it is not in the list of sheet formats to pick from .
I am trying to insert a photograph in photoshop CS3 into Avery template # 8386 for photoshop which I downloaded from Avery. The template opens up with the 2 postcard outlines to place the images into, but the background of the template is checkered like I have seen in layers, which I do not really know how to do. When I go to insert the picture into the template nothing goes in...I can't seem to select the template and zip in the image. I am using Photoshop CS3 and I want to print these postcards with photoshop managing the printing.

Monitor and printer are calibrated with Colormunki Photo. In photoshop I softproof using the profile created with colormunki and the image looks excellent.
Whn I print, I choose "photoshop manages colors", and in the printer setting I make sure color management is turned off. The prints look very dull and washed out. I make sure the correct printer profile is chosen (the one created with colormunki for the specific paper I use)
Bust, if using the same image, I choose "Printer manages colors", and then in the printer color management choose "Adobe 1998", the brints look wonderful. What am I doing the is causing Photoshop manages colors to look worse than printer manages colors, when in both cases the image looks great on the monitor?
I've started using tables linked to excel files for drawing index on cover sheets. My problem is when I delete or add lines on my excel sheet it changes the format on some of the cells changing font size and justification on some cells of my table. The changes to my table seems random.
