Illustrator :: How To Change Text Direction To RTL In AI6
Jan 1, 2013
The characters of a word in Hebrew need to reverse their text direction despite the font being Adobe Hebrew which you would expect to be in the correct direction. However this text was copied in from Word.
I can't locate the menu option, e.g. Window>Type>Paragraph fails to show any RTL option. That the text is selected seems indicated by the bar at the top of the screen showing point size etc.
I have a line of type which obeys the Perspective on one Plane, but I want it going the other way : From my image can you see it's coming from left and getting bigger to foreground. I want it starting on the right face of the Perspective grid, but it won't obey
how to make text go from left to right within a circular Workpath that I have created. I realise that it is possible to move it with the direct selection tool, but why is it so hard to make it go from left to right inside the circle?
I have a drawing of a stone railing section and I have to change direction in the run direction of the baluster panel. Is there a way that I can move the details without changing th Y direction of the details. Please refer to the attached CAD file for details. I am trying to avoid having to redesign the panels if possible. railing detail.dwg
Why is it that when I apply a gradient to a stroke I cannot use the gradient tool to change the direction or position of the gradient? I can make a fill and offset the path and then move that gradient (which is a very similar effect), but gradient tool does not work on a stroke. I am just baffled by the idea that I can put a gradient on a stroke but then only change it by using the gradient palette to change the angle and /or height /width...and that honestly dosen't work well.
I have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.
*GAS_Option_LINE,Gas line ----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION---- A,8,-15,["GAS OPTION",STANDARD,S=2.54,U=0.0,X=-2.35,Y=-1.27],-12
I have a path with a smooth point. The two direction points form a direction line with any non-45-degree-angle - say 11.8 degrees. I want to drag one direction point while keeping the angle of exactly 11.8 degrees.
If I have a layer on top of another layer or say I have a custom tool shape on a page, how do I select it to change the direction is it facing. I don't want to use the roate canvas selection. I know in the past I was able to do something like alt and click the shape or image to change its direction.
what gives here with Corel's so-call Pen Tool. First there's almost NOTHING out there in terms of tutorials etc. Plenty about the Bezier tool but truly hardly anything about the Pen Tool
How on earth do you change the node's direction? This is SO frustrating! I just wanna control this *** but I can't. In Adobe PS it's simple, just hit ALT and you're back to 0 angle. In Corel I read somewhere that you double click the last node......yeah that ends it alright but when you go back to continue at a different angle it goes back to the same angle all over again so it's literally useless.
Is there a way to change the direction of a Label? I want all my text facing the same direction and some of my Labels for contours are turned the wrong direction.
I've created associative 3D sketches to use as trajectories for sweeps. I will often have to use one line extending from the end of another line. I make the two lines colinear. But when the model changes, sometimes one line will change direction and cause an overlapping condition which makes the sweep fail.
Any way to keep it from happening? Ideally, I'd create one line that extended, but you can't constrain a line to a point, only an endpoint to a point. I'm attaching the model.

I want to force the Multileader landing to go left when the program wants to automatically form it to the right. How can you choose/change the direction of the landing line and side on which the text will be placed.
I have cut several sections at different points along a road alignment. The sections are cut facing the same direction as the alignmnet. Is there a way to reverse the section direction without changing the alignment direction?
I created a Corel Draw template (*.cdt). Everything was working well until, for some unknown reason, the text direction for Artistic Text and Paragraph Text (and all Bullet styles) switched to right-to-left. I do not recall doing anything to cause this.
Also, the only place that I can find the text direction option is in the Text > Options > Guidelines > Styles > Edit button for fonts > Paragraph Tab (in Format Text dialog box). The text direction shows Right-to-Left and it is grayed out - not available!
My system is Hebrew enabled and Hebrew is a right-to-left language. However, I do not use and have never used Hebrew in any form in CorelDraw.
Also, there is no information at all in the User's Guide or on-line help. The words "direction" and "text" do not appear together.
2 questions:
The important one - How can I access the text direction property?
The less important one - What could I have inadvertently done to change the text direction from L-2-R to R-2-L?
On a windows 7 machine I am having issues with Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64 Extended writing in the wrong direction, its goinf RTL instead of LTR. And the Text direction button that is suppsed to be in the Paragraphs palette is missing. I deleted preferences twice and that didnt change anything. I switched back and forth between Midles Eastern and East Asian, and that did nothing as well.
I look at my laptop MBP (MAC OS X 10.6), which has PS CS6 Extended 13.0.5 x64, and I dont have the problem with it being locked in RTL, however, my laptop doesnt have the text direction button either, and doing the previous methods did not give me that option. Is there something special I have to download in order to get it or something?
Just so you know I hav read this thread, and tried all of the Methods and NONE of them worked for EITHER Operating System. Also here is a Video for Windows 7 and a video for MAC OS X and the do opposite methods switching to either to East Asian or Middle East(both videos do the oppposite).
How to force the text to move in a particular direction as the “annotation scale” changes?
I wanted to force the text to move in a particular direction as the “annotation scale” changes but sounds not to respond. I tried to play with the “justify” but seems not to have an effect!
How to control this movement direction of the text as the annotation scale changes?
How to switch the direction of text arrows?I’m wondering if there is a way to switch the direction of the text arrows from being left directed to be right?
I am typing in Farsi which is a right-to-left language. What I see in the monitor is correct. Words appear from right-to-left. But when I print, Entire sentence appears from left-to-right.
This happens even if I print to PDF file. So it is not a problem with printer.
I have a basic document in Illustrator CC. The document is just text boxes for an organization chart.
When I go to change text in a text box, specifically trying to select text and edit the text - their is no text selection. I cannot go into a text box and double-click to select text, nothing selects and/or their is not selection color.
I have a layout for an ebook with some important black and white bitmap illustrations in tiff., 300 dpi. These has appeared ok on print, but not on screen, reading the same pdf-file. This is partly because there are texts in fontsize 5-6 pt. People tell me I have to convert the drawings, or at least the text, to vector graphics. Question is now - since at the moment I have CS6 avaiable - can I open these tiff.s in Illustrator, change the text to vector and then save in a format, that can be inserted in the Word2010 layout? (You might wonder why I use Word, but it was a question of economy, when the project was started up).
I'm using Illustrator 6 on Windows with the latest SDK.My plugin changes the colors of paths and text.I have a single word of text specified as a spot color, it comes though in the code as a kTextFrameArt...I am using the following code to change the text color, but it has no effect,
//textArt is a AIArtHandle ATE::TextRangeRef textRangeRef; AIErr err = sAITextFrame->GetATETextRange( textArt, &textRangeRef ); if ( err == kNoErr ) { } [code]....
I purchased an image on iStockPhoto and the text is supposed to be changed but I dont know how. Everything is vectorized...how I can change the text and keep the same font?
