View 8 RepliesNow, in my understanding, the flow arrow should either be rotated 0, or 180 (pi radians). But clearly, some of them like to have their own mind about things, and decide on some other rotation. It seems that on the steep slopes, the arrows go a bit skew.
I think the skew is related to the actual elevation difference of the segment, rather than the steepness of the slope. A long segment with 15% slope has a worse skew than a short segment at over 30%, presumably because the elevation difference from the start to the end of the segment is larger.

I have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.
*GAS_Option_LINE,Gas line ----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION----
A,8,-15,["GAS OPTION",STANDARD,S=2.54,U=0.0,X=-2.35,Y=-1.27],-12
I have a drawing of a stone railing section and I have to change direction in the run direction of the baluster panel. Is there a way that I can move the details without changing th Y direction of the details. Please refer to the attached CAD file for details. I am trying to avoid having to redesign the panels if possible. railing detail.dwg

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has got to be something simple, but I can't get my head around it. I want to take a feature line that has been created by the "stepped offset" command and change its style, in LISP, of course. I have the entity name and have dumped the object, but the style of the FL is not one of them. It shows up in the properties box, but how do I get to it to change it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a path with a smooth point. The two direction points form a direction line with any non-45-degree-angle - say 11.8 degrees. I want to drag one direction point while keeping the angle of exactly 11.8 degrees.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to navigate along my feature line, viewing which point is screen is the current point at the grid.
My feature line shows its points with blue circle & square grips and the current point is showed by a green circle.
The problem is the zoom level, Grips have always the same size but circular green indicator does not.
You can only view this last at a very detailed zoom.
I'd like to have a "big" arrow or something similar. The problem is the great difficulty to identify points....

when I draw a polyline, or use it as the linetype in a feature line style, the arrows seem to revrse whenever there is a change in direction any significance. Also, the reverse command and reversefeature command have no effect. Rotating a segment does not change the direction. I know I must be missing something.
In the attached, I have a feature line, and a polyline that the arrows change direction when the feature does.

I needed to remove a feature line that I used as a break line when creating a surface. When I removed the feature line from the definition of the surface, the grading did not change. It appears the points created by the feature line remain which is why grading didn't change. The only work around was to delete these points.
I noticed the same thing happens when I removed the surface boundary and inserted a new boundary. why these points remain and how to remove when I delete boundary and feature line from surface?
I have made line types with text and need to reverse the direction that the text reads. The text autocorrects based on UCS north. The UCS in the drawing is rotated 90 degrees so line text reads upside down. I type in the reverse command but the text does not change.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created associative 3D sketches to use as trajectories for sweeps. I will often have to use one line extending from the end of another line. I make the two lines colinear. But when the model changes, sometimes one line will change direction and cause an overlapping condition which makes the sweep fail.
Any way to keep it from happening? Ideally, I'd create one line that extended, but you can't constrain a line to a point, only an endpoint to a point. I'm attaching the model.

Is there any way to project feature lines into a profile when the plan view is xref'd? I have my plan view "existing topo" with all existing features/Figures and a existing surface.
My profile is a separate dwg with plan view xref'd and surface a data shortcut. Of course there are feature lines and Survey Figures in the existing top I want to project into the profile, but can't because it is an xref. Besides copying .
