AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Reverse Section Direction Without Changing Alignment Direction?
Jan 2, 2014
I have cut several sections at different points along a road alignment. The sections are cut facing the same direction as the alignmnet. Is there a way to reverse the section direction without changing the alignment direction?
I have made line types with text and need to reverse the direction that the text reads. The text autocorrects based on UCS north. The UCS in the drawing is rotated 90 degrees so line text reads upside down. I type in the reverse command but the text does not change.
I can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. I'm just guessing I need to reverse the flow direction because my invert out and invert in elevations are backwards in the profile. I'm working in Civil3D 2012.
I have a special ditch profile that I'd like to use a linetype with arrows on. Currently, it shows the arrows going up station with my mainline profile. i.e. now water does flow uphill...
I imported 5182 points (in the NEZ format) into my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 (English Metric) and then created a Surface from these points (Style: Contours 1m and 5m (Background)). I selected a polyline => Alignment => Create Alignment from Objects - see the attached file. How can I verify the direction of the alignment I just created?
I'm currently working on a cross section plan and was wondering if there was any way I can change the direction of the cross section view. I'm currently just using 2 sample lines, so just 2 views are needed. My problem is that it seems like one cross section...the view is facing upstream and the other sample line, the cross section view is facing downstream.
Is this normal? How come both cross sections don't face the same direction? So with one x section it's in a East-West direction but the other is a West to East direction.

I have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.
*GAS_Option_LINE,Gas line ----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION----GAS OPTION---- A,8,-15,["GAS OPTION",STANDARD,S=2.54,U=0.0,X=-2.35,Y=-1.27],-12
I have a drawing of a stone railing section and I have to change direction in the run direction of the baluster panel. Is there a way that I can move the details without changing th Y direction of the details. Please refer to the attached CAD file for details. I am trying to avoid having to redesign the panels if possible. railing detail.dwg
I need to change the direction of type on a path. Basically it is writing the sentence backwards right now. I need it to type right to left instead of left to right so the first word of the sentence will be all the way left instead of all the way right.
I have a path with a smooth point. The two direction points form a direction line with any non-45-degree-angle - say 11.8 degrees. I want to drag one direction point while keeping the angle of exactly 11.8 degrees.
I recently found an error in my top level assembly which is that the origin axes x & z are pointing in the wrong direction (x-axis points in the negative x direction and the z-axis points in the negative z direction). how to "flip" the origin axes of an assembly?
Additional information: I have a top level lattice assembly that consists of a number of lattices (a part to which components are constrained) with the lattice origin planes constrained flush with the top level lattice assembly origin planes. This top level assembly is used in many other assemblies to constrain entire systems. Re-constraining my lattices correctly inside of the top assembly is infeasible.
I downloaded a toilet stall that looks pretty good. But the door swing is on the wrong side for my plans.
Short of starting from scratch, is there a way to change the hinge side? Some restrooms have the hinge on the right side and others on the left. I'd like to be able to change this via a parameter. If I could figure out how, I'd add the param to the family. URL>...
I'm having trouble merging paths. I'm combining the multiple paths with arrows to make the 3D effect (which is on all of them obviously) flow as one instead of on top of eachother. When I use the compound path command it reverses all my arrows and I have no way of changing them back without releasing the compound path (which puts them back to their original state of being on top of eachother)

When I create a line label, one of the components available is “Direction Arrow”. This component is not available for “Curve” labels. I would really like to use C3D labels to indicate direction (I realize curves don't have a 'direction', but I don’t mind manually flipping and reversing the arrow). Is there any other label option in C3D that will draw a direction arrow for curves?
I need to be able to do a slope analysis on a surface, but I need to have it calculate the slope in a direction - east and north. Any way to do it? Maybe even if there is a quick way to apply slope labels to a surface based on a grid - say the slope from N0.00, E0.00 to N0.00 to E 25.00
Is there a way to change the direction of a Label? I want all my text facing the same direction and some of my Labels for contours are turned the wrong direction.
I drew in a water line that had an arc in it, the "W" symbol in the line (or arc rather) is upside down. i've tried the reverse command, tried re drawing the arc both ways, tried re loading line types, is there any way to fix this?
