So I have this multipage document I am working on and I needed more pages so I added the artboards I need however then now go beyond the clip board size (see picture below), how do I change that?
I find myself using Black Backgrounds often in illustrator. Bleeding a Black BG makes it impossible to see the art board boarder.
The solution to this has been for me to either place guild lines on these guide lines (silly really) and jarring. specially when you already have guide lines there.
Or to make a new layer, place a box on the board and give it a outline .5 stroke thinkness or so depending on the zoom because white on the black line thats above it screws up visually depending on the distance you zoom out from.
Or has Adobe given us a choose your colour option i don't know about? 50% Grey would be great. can see on white and black.
We are having a problem related to paste clipboard. We are extracting block attribute to MS access file using VB.net. While extracting block data, all block object in paste clipboard is also exported to MS access file. How to clear paste clip board using VB.net before exporting block attribute data. We want to extract block object existing in drawing only.
I'm not sure what I did to make this happen or how to change it back, but for some reason when I change the size of an object/line it changes the stroke weight as well. (For example, if I drew an ellipse with stroke weight 2 pt, and then increased the size the stroke weight would be 2.856 pt or some such number instead of 2 pt.) How to change this back?
I am makeing an image for a customer. I am looking to take some text that was made on one art board and move it to another where I am assembling the complete image. However when I drag from one art board to the other the size of the cut and pasted art changes and the look of all its effects change as well.
The two documents have the same deminsions and the same resolution and color profiles. why this might be happening? Here is an example:this is the original
this is after I drag it or I cut and past it into another documentI am using photoshop cs5 on mac os 10.6.8
I scan my pieces in. Trace them with the pencil (love the new version) save my file. Than I save as a svg file. But in some cases it changes the size of these objects and in others it does not. So some place something is different. How do I stop this?
I am trying to create text along a spiral path, and I need the text to get smaller as the spiral gets smaller towards the center. Something like this...
I have read that there has been a script called "ChangeSizesOfTextSelection.js" but it's for a much older version of Illustrator.
Tricky one to add a title for but if I am resizing an object precisely using the W Value and H Value fields, for some reason the size I enter then changes. So, for example, I have an object that is 57.15mm wide. I then change that value to 57mm but when I click return it then changes back to the 57.15mm value. This appears for all other values. So if I change it to 60mm it then changes it to 59.972 mm
Not really sure what setting I have that's making it do this. My document is set up in mm.
Im brand spanking new to Illistrator, andfor my first project decided to re-make my logo for my small minecraft server, since my origional was such poor quality.how to make what I wanted, the problem im having is when I change the size of my grouped image it creates grey lines between the rectangle shapes, There is no gaps, if you zoom in as far as you can they disappear.I exported the image as PNG and they still percist, attatched (Top right finished origional size I made it)
I found out I could "rasterize" my selected content like in video editing "render", I had to do this to "finish" a vector image, any more information on a better workflow.
I’m making a very simple movie using photos only. I need to change the play time of each photo to vary in duration. When I click on the individual photo in the Timeline view and drag it to extend or decrease the amount of time it plays for, it affects the duration of the following photo, either lengthening it or shortening it. Is there a way to adjust one photo’s duration without affecting the next in line? In other words, is there a way to fine-tune one photo, while having all others maintain their current time properties?
if I can change the exposure or contrast, of only a portion of the take as opposed to the whole take? Also is it possible to isolate a face in one take and only change the exposure or whatever of just the face and not the rest of the scene in the take like one can with a still photo in photoshop?
I want to change the size of the image in Gimp to 3957x4429 px (67x75 cm) at a 150dpi (the image we have has a 300 dpi.) When i do this in image - print size it keeps changing the width.
The system is not allowing me to get the picture a few cm larger. Is there any way I can overwrite this?
I am compiling a slideshow that has a combination of still photos and videos. I have no problem changing the duration for indiviual photos. However, for the video clips, I cannot get the duration to change from the default setting for the entire slideshow. how I can change the duration for a video clip in a slideshow?
In Adobe Premiere, I am getting an echo when I change an audio clip's speed/duration. The change is from 100% to 103%. I've tried other values in the speed duration but all create an echo.
I joined two video clips and saved them as a single clip. They are both .mov files. One is 18mb and the other is 15mb, so I assumed the new file would be 33mb. When I save the new file in .mpg, however, it is only 27mb. When I try saving it in .mov, it balloons to over 120mb. How should I save the new clip to maintain the original size and ensure I'm not losing any quality?
Also, when I save the clips it seems to be converting the original 640*480 aspect ratio to 720*480. How do I preserve the original aspect ratio?
I use Xara sometimes to resize images/photos. Quite often I use the clip view function to crop the image to the precise size I need.
I just recently found that when I export my clipped views, always as pngs, they have a very small 1 to 2 pixel edge around them. I can keep clipping but it continues to stay there. I exported with alpha and without to see if it made a difference but it doesn't.
I am now having to use my raster program to resize but had liked using Xara for it. The raster program works fine and I suppose every program has its uses so I just won't use Xara for photo clipping and exporting anymore. I just think that there shouldn't be an issue since Xara seems to want to handle photos more.
The attached images show extreme closeup of a blue image on a black background (the black background is used for checking this very problem).
I would like to do some stylized typography with horizontal lines inside the letterforms' shapes...this is a common effect.
I can't find one method that will work for me, other than divide, and that leaves me with a lot of hair-pulling tedious selecting all the unwanted bits and deleting them!
clipping paths won't be useful, because I can't get it to clip the stuff inside!
I know this has got to be an easy thing to do, but I'm in the weeds over the procedure..
I am using Illustrator CC. I have created a compound shape and then used it as a mask to clip an image to the shape so that the vector image is the background to the shape I created. Now, I have text over parts of the shape and I would like to cut the text out of the compound shape. I.e. A hole through the object in the shape of the text. Also, I should probably note that the object that I want to cut the text out of is considered a "Clip Group" in the Layers panel.
I have tried a number of different options that I have found on forums, etc but none seem to work. So far I have tried:
1. Converting the type to an outline and then selecting the Clip Group and the type and then making a compound path. The result: An error starting "Can't make a compound path. A compound path cannot combine a clipping mask with an ordinary path."
2. Selecting the type and the Clip Group and then using Minus Front in the Pathfinder panel. Result: An error stating "The filter produced no results. Please select two intersecting paths."
3. Selected the type and set the transparency to 0% in the Transparency panel then selected the type and the Clip Group and then tried Difference and also Exclusion. Result: Nothing but transparent type.
I am attaching a picture of the object and the text I want to cut from it and also the Layers panel.
Have a file that is one big clip group with sub clip groups. This is not a regular Illustrator file that has different things on different layers.Need to modify elements in this clip group, like move items, select and modify items, colors etc.
How do I make cursor size the same as paint brush size in CS6? It isn't and it makes selecting more difficult. Preferences>cursor does not seem to fix.
I have watched a few videos, on changing image size, in cs6, since when I tried it, the photo didn't change size at all. I could change it to 1 million inches tall, and it will stay the same size. I don't really know what to do. I've tried unlocking the default layer, and changing the canvas size and nothing seems to make this image change size.
I want the image in the picture bigger, am I even doing it right by going under image, and changing the image size, and hitting ok? That is all the tutorials say to do, yet nothing happens for my image.
I'm trying to change the size of a certain object in my image. It's a simple clip art that I got off the web and pasted into Photoshop. What I'm trying to do is select it with the select tool and then resize. None of the resize options I'm using seem to do exactly what I want though. Here's what I've tried:
1) Image -> Image Size -> do my adjustments. This changes the size of the whole image, not the selection.
2) Image -> Canvas Size -> do my adjustments. This changes the size of the canvas and has no bearing on the size of any of the objects within it or the entire image.
3) Select -> Modify -> Contract/Expand -> enter the number of pixels. This changes the size of the selection box, but not the contents within it.
4) Select -> Transform Selection -> do my transformations -> hit enter. This changes the size and shape of the selection box, but not the contents within it.
What do I need to do in order to change the size of a particular object within my image?
i am playing with the trial version of DP7 - i have been using Xara for years and i always change the button size to small to get the most out of my screen real estate... since i am working on a laptop, this is actually pretty critical.
but... all the buttons relating to size in the Control Bars Dialogue box are greyed out... to wit:

and.... why does this board no longer display images but only links????
I just opened a drawing, bound all the xrefs and saved it. I noticed that when I save the drawing in model space, the size is 10mb smaller than if I save it in paper space. This is the same drawing, and all that is changing is whether I save it in model space or paper space.
What causes this? I tried it on 3 or 4 drawings and got the same result - but only when I bind the xrefs.
