when i use the ctrol+copy command, I get the "copy to clipboard failed". This has only started since I upgraded to AutoCAD2012.

Dec 17, 2012My kids' PC's motherboard failed. I was fortunately able to access all data on the old HDD and copied it to my machine. I have to replace the motherboard, CPU and memory. Everything is working OK again.
My son's library files were all in his "My Pictures" folder of which I have a copy. What is the best way of getting everything back without the need to import everything again. I do have a copy of "Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat" - I have a copy of the complete old folder.

Aug 14, 2012I am trying to create a hatch for board and bat siding. There are parallel lines at 1.5" apart that repeat every 8". When I try to use the hatch I get the following message:

Feb 17, 2013Whenever I select some objects in an AUTOCAD drawing and Press Ctrl+C to copy them for taking it to any other file, it gives error "COPY TO CLIPBOARD FAILED."
However, this error is not for all the files but in some of the files. After much tweaking and researching on my own, I found out that this happens in files in which I have set viewports in LAYOUT. When i delete the entire LAYOUT by right Click + Delete, and then go to MODEL and do Ctrl+C, the copy to clipboard happens in normal way.
Why do I get the error when I have set viewports in LAYOUT ?
AutoCad :: Loose Grouping When Using Copy Clip
Feb 12, 2013So we have this custom construction note routine. It creates all the notes with station, offset, blah blah , and it is all together as once piece. So if you move the note group the leader will stay attached to it and it holds all of the label properties.
When I copy clip, wblock, insert these key notes into another drawing they are no longer a group and there is no way to move them all together.
This has created a lot of extra work and moving stuff around that does not seem necessary.How can I copy or move construction key notes from one drawing to another without losing the group properties. I have tried WBlock and making sure the grouping is on when I copy and paste/insert them but it still doesn't work.
Oh and we are running a 64bit 2013 with the carlson suite application,

Mar 18, 2012My brand spanking new Acad2012 cannot copy anything to the windows clipboard...it freezes as soon as I hit enter after selecting the objects I want to copy. The only solution is to taskmanager and kill it.
I've had to go back to using my old AcadLT 2002 in my WindowsXP VM.
Basically my new Sing$2000 SW is useless unless I can copy blocks form one drawing to another.

AutoCad :: Wblock And Copy / Paste Clip Not Working
Nov 26, 2008I am using ACAD 2000. My wblock and copyclip commands are not working only in one specific drawing. I am working in modelspace.
When I wblock it lets me select the objects and assign a file to save the objects to. When I hit OK it gives me no error but no file is created.
When I copyclip it gives me no error, but when I pasteclip, nothing happens.
I tried saving the drawing as something else. This drawing simply won't let me copyclip or wblock. I can use the copy command to make multiple copies of the object in question within the drawing. I tried restarting my PC and this particular drawing still has the same problem. Other drawings are fine.

Oct 5, 2011When I copyclip a dimension from one drawing with UCS set to world/north, then paste into another drawing with UCS rotated in Z (south for example), the text remains oriented to north. The original drawing doesn't have to be set to world, just something different from the paste orientation.
Is there a way to have the text orient itself to the current UCS at paste?

Aug 20, 2010I just installed Autocad 2011. I have Excel tables in one of my drawings that was in Autocad 2004.
However, with new 2011, I can not bring the OLE to Excel where I want to edit.
I got "OLE Failed to launch server app" error message.
I search around. It seems that I need to try the command "OLELINKS". But my OLELINKS under EDIT is DISABLED!

May 9, 2011Normally When I start interface and tagging items (drawings) and writting in to Database, everything is working fine. However my interface is idle for morethan 15 mins, after that if I start the process (Searching items, Creating Items, Writting Items into DB) then immediately I got the Error "Automation Error System call failed". I did lot of R & D on my code, but I am unable to find the issue, may be Objects are emptied or i don't know.
Problamatic Code is given below.

Mar 4, 2012Every time that I open a new drawing which has clipped XRefs, the X clip frame is set to the number 2, and I set it back to number "0", but then when I finish that drawing and open another drawing, then the new drawing reverts back to X clip frame 2.
How or where I can change the setting to the default is always "0"?
AutoCAD 2010 :: 3D CLIP Displays Back Faces
Mar 22, 2013I use the 3DCLIP command a lot in my work.
What is really disappointing is that whenever a solid (or xref or block) is sectioned this way, it shows a back faces of that object. It makes the view messy and confusing, and then I have to use whiteout all over my paper space to make the drawing readable.
