I just installed Autocad 2011. I have Excel tables in one of my drawings that was in Autocad 2004.
However, with new 2011, I can not bring the OLE to Excel where I want to edit.
I got "OLE Failed to launch server app" error message.
I search around. It seems that I need to try the command "OLELINKS". But my OLELINKS under EDIT is DISABLED!
Here is what im running
OS: Windows 7 x64
Autodesk software: Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium 2012
Microsoft software: MS Office 2010 Starter which includes Word & Excel ONLY.
Error message from Inventor when trying to open an Ipart :

Recently I have been trying to build table driven products and ipart tables, but when I copy a member to create a new part number, upon exiting the iassembly author I get the following message "excel installation is required for this operation. failed to launch excel". I have a fully functional version of 2010 Excel installed which has been used so it should be recognized in the windows registry. I am running Windows 8 and Autodesk Inventor 2014.

To recap my problem: When calling the "edit bitmap" function in X4 - I receive this message: "Failed to launch server application". Paint opens, closes, opens, closes and then the message pops up.
I tested several files, different bitmaps, different dpi's, new files with newly converted bitmaps (filled rectangle to bitmap). To no avail.
complete Corel X4 uninstall 3 times already .... even went so far as to reboot the registry to a date before I installed Corel X4 Suite to no avail.
The program has had no issues until the last 2 weeks. The actual issue I am having is Paint works fine as a separate entity however when I try to edit a bitmap from within X4 an error pops up telling me "Failed to launch server application" This is a major PITB as I own a graphics company and this is causing no end of problems
I want to use the command viewbase to link an inventor ipt to acad.
But when i give the command i get the message "Inventor server failed to load".
I have installed vba and still get the message.
How can i load the inventor server?
Your drawings are only as good as the symbols that complete them...
when I try to use the VIEWBASE command to create views from my 3D solids, I always get the message "inventor server failed to load" and the command stops. I am using AutoCAD 2014 with SP1 installed on windows 8 .

it is suggested to reinstall the software, but this is not working for me.I have already tried to 'repair', 'reinstall' and completely remove all the software and then reinstalling it, but nothing seems to fix this problem.
Are there any other programs I need to have installed to get this command to work?
Photoshop CS6 has suddenly failed to launch. The window (tabs, icons) open for about 3 seconds, then quits, and I get the typical error message saying that Photoshop has unexpectedly quit I'm on OS 10.6.8.

Video was viewed in 2013 in LR 4, but after install of CC and LR 5, playback is not functioning.Tried restarting LR 5, the HDD dedicated catalog and exporting a test file. The above error message occurred while trying to reimport the test video (.avi) file.
While in grid view, when curser moves over the thumbnail, image seems to fast forward. After clicking twice on the thumbnail, there is no image in Loupe view. There is kind of a weird black, white and gray graphic.One attempt to start playback resulted in this error message in white text on a black banner, " There was an error working with the video."
I tried 3 times to update Photoshop CC and it failed each time. Now the program will not launch. Do I need to re-install the program?

My company is currently running AutoCAD 2012 and we have invested heavily in some custom DLL and ARX routines that really automate our design/engineering process. The problem is that these currently resolve on laptop computers and our executive managment doesn't feel that it is very secure.
Their suggestion is to run AutoCAD through a virtual machine, which none of us like, for many reasons.
One option we would like to explore is using Autodesk Vault to store our DLL and ARX files, and require Vault login in order to load/run these files.
We recently migrated our fileshare project drawings from Window Server 2003 to Window Server 2008-R2 x64...We are experiencing slowness opening or only right click button on more dwg on XP Pro 32/64bit workstation.
Problem repeats if you try to copy many dwg files from windows explorer, right button properties..i have already disabled "validate digital signatures and display special icons" on each machine .There isn't any slowness problem opening files on other application e.g.. Office.

I copy a .dwg to my remote computer and open it. Then .dwl and .dwl2 are created in same local folder as the .dwg I just opened localy. Then I copy the local .dwl and .dwl2 files back to the remote server in the same location I received the origional .dwg from. Why are those files not locked now from everybody on the network that I am remotly away from?

However my interface is idle for morethan 15 mins, after that if I start the process (Searching items, Creating Items, Writting Items into DB) then immediately I got the Error "Automation Error System call failed". I did lot of R & D on my code, but I am unable to find the issue, may be Objects are emptied or i don't know.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a table imported into autocad from excel, however despite the table (excel) being formatted, border lines appropriately placed and hidden througout the sheet, all off the border lines of the cells appear when imported into autocad.
is there anything i can do to hide back some border lines for selected cells?
I created an assembly, so far with one part in it. I created an Excel spreadsheet with several dimensions in it that would be used in the assembly parts. I went to Manage>Parameters and linked the spreadsheet. The Excel file appeared in the Parameter Dialog Box with the parameters included in it. However, when I create a part in the assembly and attempt to dimension a sketch in it, the parameters option in the dimension box is not present.
I have done this in the past in IV2009, has anything changed that I cannot do so in 2010?
I am trying to add an excel document to a cad drawing using ole. I wish to make it transparent so that only the cells themselves are visible and not the white background and empty cells. (I hope that makes sense).

We would like to remove it if possible as it is now superseded (we can't change the file name unfortunately. What do we do if we can't reload, detach or bind? Its not referenced into anything else that is attached to the file, it is a direct attachment of the file that we are in.

But every so often I get a stubborn one that just will not open. It will select and the quick properties box will appear and then the properties box, but nor firing up of Excel. Usually if I am persistent I can get it to work, but I have one right now that is more stubborn than I am.
