Regarding Gimp version 2.8.2, I'm posting text to a picture, the trouble is when I highlight and try to resize the text it disappears. The text layer is still on top and the eye is still visable, so the text should be visable.. I have tried different fonts and colors and sizes with no success, things I can check to make this work again?
I did just reinstall this version today ( a couple of times ) and that is when the trouble started.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI dunno if it is me, kde, gimp, or what.. but I can be editing along..yada yada.. do this, do that, and then look over and the toolbox on the left is missing most of the icons.. kinda like the scaling is wrong and the icons are pushed off the bottom under the tool options underneath it. sometimes it takes the usual layout with like 5-6 icons wide and replaces it with only 2 wide, sometimes only 1 wide. I tried stretching it and bringing it back, floating and redocking.. all with no fixy.
The only way I have figured out how to "undo" this is to close and restart gimp. Which is a pain when you have a mess of open files in various states of not done yet..
I'm trying to finally utilize iLogic and all of its functionality (after using the basic features of inventor for the past 3 or so years) and I was wondering if there was a way to use iLogic (or some other feature for inventor) to resize text in a title block field of an IDW based on the length of the text entered (i.e. if the part's name was "Cam Retainer" the text height would be .12, but if its part name was "Spacer Cam Retainer Bushing" the text height would shrink down to .085 or something) so that it would still fit nicely into the text block?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had Corel X6 on my computer for a few months and have been making signs just fine with no major problems. However, last week it started getting rid of my text completely if I click on the pick tool or off of the text itself. The text does not hi-lite like it usually does with a box around it, but there is a small black box on the bottom left corner. we cannot make any signs without this program. I even uninstalled and re installed the entire program and still have the same problem.
View 5 Replies View Related I've got this problem where my text is dissapearing when I export a .PDF from PS. Some of the text dissapears and some is white with a thin outline (although it should just be solid black). I've read other things online from people with this problem but none of the solutions work for me. If I rasterise the text it works - but i don't want it rasterised.
- I'm not using Faux Bold or other effects
- I've tried with different fonts including Arial and Helvetica
- Tried changing the colour slightly
- Tried changing opacity slightly
- opened a new document with only text and it still does it.
I think it is only happening when i use a text box (dragging the text tool to make box rather than a single click)I've got Creative Cloud and PS is up to date. Working on a rMBP OSX10.8.4
I have two images that I didn't create, but need to be re-sized. A wide gradient bar with rounded-corners and a box with rounded corners (attached). I suspect I may need to recreate these in GIMP (unless there's another way).

My pc specs: win7 x64 - portuguese language
Photoshop CC, on my MacBook Pro Retina (Iris Graphics). The text disappears, erases basically, whenever I change the font or size. Every single action with text I have to undo. Change font, disappears/erases, undo etc. Happens regardless what font or size.
Also the performance is very poor, doubting it's optimised for Mavericks.
I'm using AutoCAD 2013. I need to explode text so that it will appear as line work, otherwise my surveying instrument won't display it.
When i use the express tools explode text command, the text disappears, this message is shown in the command bar
"The line objects have been placed on layer 0."
However, there is nothing on layer zero. Might this have something to do with missing shape files, or can AutoCAD only explode certain simple forms of text?
At times when dimensioning or creating views in 2D, items will disappear. These items are dimensions or even complete views. They return as soon as hit the scroll wheel on the mouse or my 3D connexion mouse.

And the problem is that i wish to resize it to square it with another layer (that i don't see when resizing).
I have a jpg file 1500x1024 pixels. If I resize it down to 400x300 and save it, the image quality is fine in the Gimp window. When I view it outside of Gimp, like in Image Viewer or FSpot its very blurry.
I resized the same image on a Mac using Photoshop and this did not happen, the resized image was perfect. Is it some sort of limitation in Gimp?
In the Scale Image dialog box the interpolation is set to Cubic. In the Save As jpeg dialog box I have checked Optimize Smoothing is set to 1.00 Subsamplingis set to Best Quality
I put a picture in gimp and when I go to print it it isn't a size anything like the picture in gimp. It's sometimes way bigger or smaller . How do I resize the picture to the size I want to print it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 70x70 image that i need to shrink down to 40x40 in the preview when i shrink it down the image looks bloody perfect, however when i select OK it just blurs everything up. why cant gimp just keep the quality it has in the preview? its like it deliberately wants to ruin my day. I'm only talking about changing the file size in JPG to a smaller or larger one for saving, We tried something yesterday, which sort of worked, but I decided the best solution was just to re-scan the original image again, which came out a lot smaller (ks), even though both methods were set to achieve 200 dpi. I think that was under "scale image". (I have been used to using a method called "resample" in another program, where you can change the dpi or inches/mm and off it goes.)

I have tried exporting to a different AutoCad year (2010) but the same issue is still occurring.
I have CS6 and I can not see the names, eyeball icons, lock icons and arrow icons in the Layers Palette. I see that the layers are there and when I hover my mouse over the layers the names and icon show up but they disappear once I click off the layers palette.

My question is does GIMP have a way to resize a large amount of images in one go instead of doing them one at a time.
I have a canvas and it's 2048x2048 the image is 2041x2041 but there's this ugly gap on the sides and if I use the zealous crop tool it changes the canvas to 2041x2041. This aint what I want.
I want the image to be 2048 with the canvas so, I do image resize, thinkin oh this will work.
but nah, if I image resize it changes the whole canvas, I just want the image to change, and besides that if the canvas is 2048 the image resize tool will say the Image is 2048 even though the image it's self is 2041. So I guess what I'm sayin is there's a bug or something which makes the image resize tool resize the canvas instead.
So how would I go about resizing my image to fit the 2048 canvas?

I suggest having the ability to group layers, such that operations performed on the group would act on all the layers in that group simultaneously. This would allow making a whole bunch of items (each on their own layer), then moving/re-sizing/whatever the whole group of layers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running into some trouble with user parameters that have been inserted into a dimension's "text box". I sometimes hide the dimension itself and insert these parameters so that iLogic can manipulate the upper & lower tolerance limits for a dimension.
The problem seems to arrise anytime one of the dimension's arrows becomes detached from the drawing (and perhaps for other reasons, too, although this is the only clear cause so far). I can reattach the arrow and the dimension seems healthy again, but if I go into the text editor, I notice that the link to any parameters that I've inserted has been lost. They appear as they were last set, but will not update if the parameters themselves change.
Is there a better workaround for this, or can we expect a solution in IV2013? I've invested close to a year's worth of work expecting this method to perform properly, and it will be a letdown if there's no solution.
In AutoCAD 2013, when I try to select a dimension object for moving, erasing, &c, the text disappears. How to get it to stay displayed? Seems to just be when using AutoCAD 2013.

Then if you left click, right click, it will list the final distance down in the command window. The machine in question no longer displays the distance on the page as you go. This is a very useful feature for us, and although we can distance things, using the text readout in the command window takes much longer.
