Is there an easy way to flatten without losing transparency?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP.
I'm fairly new to this and I'm trying to figure out how to resize and crop a high res photo without it going a bit blurry ... The image is 18cm x 22cm and is 300 dpi. I need to resize the width to 16cm and them crop 5cm off the bottom so that it fits nicely in the space where it's to go. I seem to lose clarity when I do this and I'd like to keep it crisp of course.
i got this picture that is like 830,000 kb's i need it at 600,000. how can i resize it with out making to small and get worse quality.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm losing a lot of quality when resizing images (I'm using CTRL + R and Best quality resampling).
The images I usually resize have approximately 900 x 900 pixels and they are basically text print screens. I resize them to 80%.
Is there anything that I can do to get images with better quality?
I recently had to reinstall PSP X3 and since then when I use Smart Carver any transparent areas are lost - they appear as solid white.
View 4 Replies View Relatedconcerning anti-aliasing a graphic. Im currently using Photoshop CS2 running on Windows XP.
I have a graphic that I want to use with backgrounds of different solid colors and even the occasional multi-colored background. I want to smooth out the jaggies of the graphic in such a way that the smoothed graphic can be placed on a separate layer and the desired background can be inserted on a layer below.
I can successfully import an anti-aliased graphic IF I import the graphic and its background at the same time. But then the anti-aliased graphic is suitable for use only with that particular color background. I would like to eliminate this extra step if possible.
Suppose the graphic were black on a white background. The anti-alias pixels might be 75% gray, 50% gray, and 25% gray. Conceptually, it doesnt seem like it should be all that difficult for the anti-alias pixels to be black at 75% transparency, black at 50% transparency, and black at 25% transparency. Then, in theory, wouldnt this type of transparency anti-aliasing work for any color background placed underneath it? Is this possible in Photoshop CS2? If not, is it possible in a later version (might be a good reason to upgrade)?
I used Graphics & Photos 2013, I update the software yesterday and if I save my job as PDF, the transparency done on a picture is inverted.Currently I removed the transparency but it is not the solution.Issue appear only when I create a PDF file. By creating a JPG file it works.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having real troubles exporting a button which has drop shadow applied to it. The vector shape has Gradient Overlay, Inner Shadow and Drop Shadow applied to it as layer effects.
When I export it with transparency, PNG-24 and then open and place it over the same background, the drop shadow looks quite different.
So, when Adobe introduced the "brush preview" when using the Control+Option drag to change the brush size/hardness (not sure if it's called this way), I was ecstatic! It made my workflow much faster without having to go to the menu to change the brush size or to the bracket keys. Now on CS6 they added a feature that basically broke that for me. Now it not only shows the size/hardness, but it also shows the transparency. It sounds like a great idea, and it is when you work with bigger opacities, but I work a lot with opacities below 10% and it basically becomes invisible, so it's hard to know if I'm using a hard/soft brush when adjusting the brush size. Is there a way to turn just the transparency preview off?!

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve figured out how to scale images and remove their backgrounds, but when I go to paste them in a new location I lose their scaling.
What I'm trying to do is put multiple pictures (the items are scaled to actual size, which is important) onto a single 8.5 x 11 page.
So, I've taken some of my pictures, opened their files scaled them to where they need to be, and then removed the backgrounds. I saved that as a new file.
How would I then take those files and place them, with the scale I made them, into something that is this 8.5 x 11 page size.
When I try to do it now, it doesn't keep the scale.
How do I align text? (L,R,C)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been told that some, many, or most cameras record non graphic data in the image file such as name of the camera owner, date of photograph, etc. or that other methods may have been used to record such data or edit it.

Is this true

Is it true of all image file formats
C.
If it is true how does one view this data.

i have this black and white graphic below.
And I would like to change the white background to a particular shade of colour, say pink. Now because I'm not 100% sure how to do this I've just been using the paint bucket fill tool to change the colour. But as you can see below, that is not 100% correct as the shades of black that make up the graphic do not "add" to make up pink shades.
I would like the result to be this:
I know I have to use something under the "Colors" menu but am not sure where to begin.
I have a logo that has many multiple colors (lots of little dots manly due to the lack of resolution). I need to change everything to white so I can lay it over a colored background.

for the others the cursor vanishes and only the arrows on the ruler top and side move about. The cursor is behind the graphic? Moves out from under when I move off the graphic.
Need to clean up the extraneous colors around the text and the graphic in this file. Can't see them so much on the screen, but they really stand out when printed. Any way to easily do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat I am trying to do is import a PDF that contains a graphic of radiation patterns from RF towers, along with all roads and other geographical data. Once imported, I want to remove all of the roads and unwanted data and keep the radiation pattern. The radiation pattern is in 1 color that dominates the image, and "covers" most of the other unwanted info, almost as a 50% transparency. I then want to export the radiation pattern, and use it in Google Earth. Additionally, where the radiation pattern is not, have it become completely transparent.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI've a problem with Gimp that comes from the fact that, when resizing a layer it becomes opaque, as if it were the foreground.
And the problem is that i wish to resize it to square it with another layer (that i don't see when resizing).
I have a jpg file 1500x1024 pixels. If I resize it down to 400x300 and save it, the image quality is fine in the Gimp window. When I view it outside of Gimp, like in Image Viewer or FSpot its very blurry.
I resized the same image on a Mac using Photoshop and this did not happen, the resized image was perfect. Is it some sort of limitation in Gimp?
In the Scale Image dialog box the interpolation is set to Cubic. In the Save As jpeg dialog box I have checked Optimize Smoothing is set to 1.00 Subsamplingis set to Best Quality
