I'm having real troubles exporting a button which has drop shadow applied to it. The vector shape has Gradient Overlay, Inner Shadow and Drop Shadow applied to it as layer effects.
When I export it with transparency, PNG-24 and then open and place it over the same background, the drop shadow looks quite different.
I have two object that i would like to put the drop shadow on but one on the left and the other shadow to the right but i do that they go to the same direction.THe objects are in different layers. I trying changing it on the dialog box that has the drop shadow but it effects the entire graphic that i am creating. How do i do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried to save a graphic with a drop shadow and no matter what setting I use in the PDF dialog it converts the dark shadow to basically a glow. The PDF renders properly in Adobe Acrobat but when using preview it fails miserably and the program I am ultimately using this graphic in uses the built in OSX PDF renderer. I have tried multiple other apps to try to accomplish this and they either have the same problem or other problems.

Is there any way to make the background transparent well with a bigger drop shadow, or should I just see the background color to the color the page will be?

I would be able to edit the style to suit my text but struggling to create one from scratch after following write-ups and videos for the last 24hours!
Realise there are easier ways to make drop shadows but I need the drop shadow to be scaleable up to large sizes in a vector format as well as the text
I'm exporting files as .eps to print them with my roland printer using versaworks.
The problem is when i'm exporting files from my desk computer, (CorelDraw X6) and then I print it I have this problem. my bitmap components in the file are printed with many more pixel than before. and I don't know why.
Maybe since I updated my X6 version? It does that with files that contain drop shadow effects or transparency.
The thing is when i'm exporting the same file with my Laptop, using Coreldraw X5 and I then print it, I don't have this problem. So the printer's software is not the problem. I double cheked all my .eps exporting settings and they are the same in both computer.
You can see on these pictures what's right and what's wrong.
Copying an element which has a graphic style applied now breaks apart the style into individual elements if the style is applied to text, the text is outlined too. This never use to happen. Have tried changing the paste board setting but this changes nothing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI drew a box, then applied a drop shadow going to the right. I duplicated the layer, then dragged it to the left of the first box. I edited the drop shadow to go to the left, and it changed, but so did the first one. I cannot get the two drop shadows to go in different directions.
I've tried different things, drawing separate boxes, etc. but it still will not work.
Does anyone know why this is happening or why I can solve it?
How can I get this type of shadow that fades and goes in that direction?

1.First way was I selected the entire photo and tried a layer effect. Didn't work.
2. Then I created a new layer that was a rectangle. put it behind the background copy and tried to add the dropshadow to the rectangle thinking it might show up from behind the bg layer. I couldn't even add the drop shadow to the rectangle.
When i apply a drop shadow to one layer, then add a drop shadow to another layer, their directions stay linked so when i change the direction of the 2nd shadow, the first one moves too. Why is this?

It shows the shadow in the layers palette, but it's grayed out (on the one that's not working). I tried converting the text to outlines... same thing. m trying to get double drop shadows. i came across an article that said i could convert the layer into a smart object and give it additional shadows. however, when i try that the original drop shadow gets stuck onto the new one. i need them to go in slightly different directions.

I even click and unclick "preview" but it makes no difference. The photo displayed in my CS4 window continues to look just like the photo when I first opened it. In the following image, I'd like to have the portion between the outer boundary of the gray shape and the red shape become more and more transparent. So that at the outer edge, you'd see NOTHING below the gray shape--but the closer you get to the red shape, the more you'd see through the gray shape.

I have a graphic that I want to use with backgrounds of different solid colors and even the occasional multi-colored background. I want to smooth out the jaggies of the graphic in such a way that the smoothed graphic can be placed on a separate layer and the desired background can be inserted on a layer below.
I can successfully import an anti-aliased graphic IF I import the graphic and its background at the same time. But then the anti-aliased graphic is suitable for use only with that particular color background. I would like to eliminate this extra step if possible.
Suppose the graphic were black on a white background. The anti-alias pixels might be 75% gray, 50% gray, and 25% gray. Conceptually, it doesnt seem like it should be all that difficult for the anti-alias pixels to be black at 75% transparency, black at 50% transparency, and black at 25% transparency. Then, in theory, wouldnt this type of transparency anti-aliasing work for any color background placed underneath it? Is this possible in Photoshop CS2? If not, is it possible in a later version (might be a good reason to upgrade)?
I am using my PC not cloud and had created drop shadows on several objects using the fx feature on the layers palate. When I added drop shadow to last object adjusted the distance to 9 & saved as default. Blending is on multiply still, but shadows no longer appear on all the objects.
What could I have accidentally done to alter all shadows where they no longer appear?
I have a graphic that needs a drop shadow angle of 142, and text that needs a drop shadow of 120. If I change one, the other changes! Even if I create one in another .psd file and drag it over, its drop shadow angle changes to match the one already in the file.

is there a way to make a drop shadow for an invisible object. because i want only the shadow of the pipe im drawing. when i set the opacity of the pipe to 0, the shadow turns invisible too.
i tried the dodge/burn tools, but they dont give me the same shadow as the other pipes in the image.
