GIMP :: How To Increase Pixels / Create Printable Graphic
Oct 10, 2012
The attached graphic, which came from a book on archive.org was originally 520 x 721 pixels. The same graphic was enhanced and increased to 1185 x 1600 pixels (the other attachment). It's clear and bright, and hasn't lost any detail. How this is done?

2 days on GIMP. I need to adjust the clone tool so it's 1080 pixels vertical and about 20 pixels wide. I googled and searched, but I can't seem to find the right phrasing.

What I'm after in an 'increase photo resolution' tool similar in result to PhotoAcute Studio (without the hefty price tag). I suspect this may be available but named something else.

I have found that edited grpahics that were previously fine start to be pixelated instead of vector. I can still edit the lines and anchor points but it is shown with pixels.
Â
This has happened under a number of circumstances.
Â
- copy a graphic from one drawing to another .. the first one is fine, the 2nd .....
- I completed a drawing then renamed it to edit it .. the edits are no longer displayed as vectors.
Â
I have the before and after files .....

Before [URL] .....

After [URL] .....
I am using CS6 ...

I am fluent in Photoshop and semi fluent in Illustrator. I run CS6 for both.
No what I want to be able to do is create a repeating pattern that can then be printed as wallpaper and pasted to the wall. As you can imagine there are lots of hurdles to get your head round and I can find any support anywhere.
Traditional wallpaper is 53cm wide by 10metres long per roll.
The wallpaper will have either a 1/4 or 1/2 drop.
I need the pattern to repeat seamlessly top and bottom and left and right because its wallpaper! I have been experimenting with the pattern tool in illustrator but with no real luck. I can create a pattern that drops by 1/4 or 1/2 but it gets all weird on the vertical repeat so its unusable.

When I am exporting a jpg from CorelDraw X6, I keep getting random columns of white pixels to the right of the graphic image. If I switch the matte color in the export dialogue to black, I get random amounts of black pixels. In X4, when I would export a jpg, the resulting file would be cropped right to the image edge, with no extra pixels. I'm getting anywhere from 1 to as many as 8 columns of extra pixels on the right hand side, which is problematic for utilizing the resulting files for page layout.
I achieve the same results when choosing "Export for Office" and "Export for Web".
I'm running a 64-bit install on a Win 7 64-bit box.

I got a tremendous amount of assistance from Rich 2005 about increasing the size of a particular image last week. I applied the same technique to another image with poor results. (Much loss of clarity, worsened by sharpening.) I imagine there are several ways to increase image size. Is there a way to increase this one without losing clarity? The first image is the original, the second is increased 100 percent, without sharpening.

I have a picture in png format which contains some waveforms. I want to increase the thickness of the waveforms.
One way could be to draw thicker lines on the waveforms in Window's paintbrush but that is very time consuming and cumbersome process.
Can it be done using GIMP? I am attaching the part of the picture which has two waveforms. For the sake of illustration, the thickness can be made double of the existing one.
Attached File(s)Â waveform.png (7.52K)

If there is a setting to increase the size of the icons for each layer.
So that when I am looking at all the layers in Layers Tab they are much bigger I can see them . what they contain.
I just can't really see much at the moment the layer icons are so small. Not really a problem but I'd like bigger layer icons.

Within gimp, I selected a portion of one image, copied it, and pasted it on another image. Now I want to take the pasted selection and increase/decrease its size. What tool does this? 'Grow' and 'Scale Image' doesn't work.

I would like to resize a letter using the transform tool in Photoshop. I am thinking the best way to do this would be to change it to a graphic.. I am using layers so do I need to flaten the image first then bring it into my layout to do this? Which means I could scale it before or after bringing into my layout...

I have a small image that I'd like to add a "tail" to and then add on to another graphic. The smaller graphic is actually a screenshot of a section of the larger image. My goal is make it into an exploded view of the larger.. Currently I've added a shawdow to it. Is their an easy way to dress up the smaller image in Photoshop or should I stick with simple effect, such as a shadow?

I have a diagram scanned in one pixel mode (b&w). I want to change the line color from black to blue.
I tried this:
In the toolbox I altered the foreground color to blue. In the 'Select' menu I used the 'By color' option. I made sure the settings in the toolbox for 'Select by color' were set at default, then I clicked on a black pixel in the image. The black lines in the image became outlined with a dotted line. I then used the 'Fill with FG color' option from the edit menu. The sample color to the left of the menu item was blue. The image briefly 'repainted'. I removed the selection using 'Select' 'None' but the image lines remain black.

I rotated some pixels, but afterwards when I do something else, the pixels become unrotated. I tried saving the image, but that reverts the rotation, too. Why won't the pixels stay put?

One of the many activities that requires me to use Photoshop is to 'paint' race cars for an online simulation game (iRacing). How to produce a re-creation of an existing car and it just so happens to include a 'ripped metal' type effect.
I've avoided this kind of graphic for a long time now. Here is the care which I'm trying to replicate (note the 'ripped metal' effects).

i have this black and white graphic below.
And I would like to change the white background to a particular shade of colour, say pink. Now because I'm not 100% sure how to do this I've just been using the paint bucket fill tool to change the colour. But as you can see below, that is not 100% correct as the shades of black that make up the graphic do not "add" to make up pink shades.
I would like the result to be this:
I know I have to use something under the "Colors" menu but am not sure where to begin.

I have a square selection that I'd like to map into a circle of equal size. I see apply lens and map object...sphere, but neither of these seem to do a proper job.
The algorithm I'm after would basically take the pixels of the square and map them onto their new locations within the circle so that each pixel moves inward toward the center until it reaches its appropriate location along the the line from the origin to its radius.
I'm about to the point to just code it in C++.

How I could fix up these pictures? Do I need to use a red-eye or noise removal method? I'm using GIMP 2.6.11 .
