One of the many activities that requires me to use Photoshop is to 'paint' race cars for an online simulation game (iRacing). How to produce a re-creation of an existing car and it just so happens to include a 'ripped metal' type effect.
I've avoided this kind of graphic for a long time now. Here is the care which I'm trying to replicate (note the 'ripped metal' effects).
I am trying to create the effect of ripped or torn metal. The effect is a piece of metal with a hole in the middle and very irregular curled up bits of metal around the edges of the irregular shaped hole.
My problem is I dont know how to start off. Should I start with a solid piece of metal (a very thin box) and then create the hole after that or should I create mesh that is similar to the end shape.
I dont have any plugins but I would buy if they could speed up this process. I looked at FumeFX but it appears to be for animation and i dont want any animation. The output is for graphic design.
I've done many many searches for this type of effect, but I haven't had much luck. I'm trying to create a sequence of images of ripped clothing. As in the Incredible Hulk, busting out of the clothes.
In the past I've used the smear tool with different shaped brushes, but that doesn't really do it too well.
I want to design an image with the word ‘Sport’ in it and have sports equipment spell out the word sport i.e. a distorted cricket bat for S, a football for O, etc…. How would I go about that!?
I would like to resize a letter using the transform tool in Photoshop. I am thinking the best way to do this would be to change it to a graphic.. I am using layers so do I need to flaten the image first then bring it into my layout to do this? Which means I could scale it before or after bringing into my layout...
I have a small image that I'd like to add a "tail" to and then add on to another graphic. The smaller graphic is actually a screenshot of a section of the larger image. My goal is make it into an exploded view of the larger.. Currently I've added a shawdow to it. Is their an easy way to dress up the smaller image in Photoshop or should I stick with simple effect, such as a shadow?
I am trying to created a graphic like image in the following tutorial: Â [URL]...
how to do it right.  1.) At 1:40 into the tutorial, he selects a diamond pattern as a Pattern Overlay effect. However, it's a pattern he created himself. How do I create a pattern like that? 2.) At 4:35, he draws a line with the pen tool having first selected a brush and then strokes the path. However, my path doesn't look like his. It's just a straight line, while his splays out a bit so he's able to create that shining star effect when he rotates a copy. I've attached a jpeg of mine.
What am I doing wrong to not get a line like his? Am I not choosing the right brush. I chose a brush with the diameter of 17 like he does in the tutorial. Does it look like I selected it from a different place?
I would like to learn how to create a pizza slice shaped graphic similar to the one attached. Preferably in layers so that I can change the individual photos easily. Pizza segments must have rounded corners and be equal proportions. Individual images have a thick white border and gray stroke.
I want to create an effect on my image where the image is ripped from behind and the ripped pieces are turned to the front like the power that ripped the material came from behind.
An example would be AC/DC Razors Edge album cover.
I found some tutorials but they are just for ripped paper. I want to be able to turn those ripped edges anywhere I want like real paper or some other material in real life.
I have a jpg image that has text on it. I want to create links in three text area that are website URL'S can this be done. I have read a few posts here but not able to locate the image MAP tab...maybe that is in another version.
Is there a way to create a .avi file in Photo & Graphic Designer 7?
I want to create an animation (not an animated .gif) that I can then include in a movie. I see how to set the properties for an AVI file but when I try to export the animation, I do not see the otption to save my file as a .avi. Am I missing something or is there a better alternative for creating an animation that can be included in a movie file?
The attached graphic, which came from a book on archive.org was originally 520 x 721 pixels. The same graphic was enhanced and increased to 1185 x 1600 pixels (the other attachment). It's clear and bright, and hasn't lost any detail. How this is done?
I am working on a graphic design project - a print publication for a client. The original Word document that is the basis for the report contains footnotes. Insofar as I am able to do so, I would like to retain my client's structure, including the footnotes. Is this feasible with P&GD 6 or version 7? I cannot find any reference to "footnote" in the help provided with my installation.
How can I create a sheet metal jog? Like the attached. I used a contor flange to creat this one, but I have to add a jog to an existing part and don't want to have to totally redraw it just to get the jog. I'm hoping you can add it like you can a flange.
ive got a red sock and a white sock, and i want to place the colors black red yellow onto the red sock, so that it looks as realistic as poissible. problem is that i cant get the structure of the sock onto the new colors (i tried diffrent blending modes, displace).
How to create a new graphic color chip to match a video background.
Conditions - Video MainTrack: Color Chip/Graphic - Video OverlayTrack1: Video of my Mom sitting in a chair against a painted wall being interviewed about her life [age 87]
The project is 16x9 and video is 4x3 which I have left-centered [so there is a black "stripe" to the right of the video image] As she talks about certain events, I will have .JPG photos show on overlay tracks 2 & 3 in this "black stripe" area
I desire to make the "black stripe" are match the wall behind Mom so project looks more Professional
Question: How can I create a color chip that matches the background painted wall. All I can think of is to create a screen capture, open that is PAINT, and read-off the color coordinates.
I am trying to create a graphic style that will give me a frame that has the 3d rounded effect. Bevel and Extrude isn't what I am looking for... I have a pic here with a bevelled edge effect, but it has a flat surface...and I want it to look round...
The question is if I have designed a part in sheet metal with multiple flanges and one of my edges follow a specific radius. Is is possible to use contour roll or any other means to create a flange on that edge that will allow me to flatten that out. I cant see it being physically possible putting a bend in there as the material would need to stretch and the bend tool would need to follow that radius.
I have a sheet metal part. It is a machine door with four edge flanges. I have mirrored this part. The origin part has flat pattern while the mirrored creates the folded pattern.
It still folded even when origin is in flat pattern.
I am getting an error message (see attached) when trying to create a contour roll using sheet metal, I have tried editing the sketch to open loop however I cannot get the contour roll to preview on the part.
The part is a short length of square hollow section from which I am trying to apply the roll to, there seems to be a problem in projecting the geometry on the end of the part

I am trying to make a chute out of 4 pieces of sheet metal. Â Is there a way to take a solid lofted part, shell it, and then break off each side of the the object for cutting and welding them together. Â I have an example attached.
Is there a way to insert a Ai graphic into msWord and the graphic text still be searchable in msWord? I would like the text in my Ai graphic to be searchable once the graphic is inserted in msWord. I have tried different Ai exports, but all come into msWord as pictures. Is there a way to keep the Text Layer in my Ai file searchable in msWord.
In Inventor 2010 we have a sheet metal, with a lot of different straps. But we cannot create round jogs between them. It's only possible, if all straps are created at the same time with the same size etc.
Please see the attached file. The upper version, is the one, it looks in the moment and we want an apperance like the lower one.
Is it possible? Because we cannot add all the round holes later on in development of the sheet metal.
