View 7 RepliesI looked all over, yet I haven't found a way to make text Bold, Underlined or Italic in the Gimp!
View 19 Replies View Relatedim using CAD07 &06 when i print out a drawing with lots of text some of it come out bold and some normal yet they are all the same font/height/size etc in the dwg?
does it make a diff if its mtext or single line text?
I can't find an option in the text tool to make a certain word bold or italic or underlined or any other such effect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I am editing text, GIMP will no longer apply italic nor bold effects. (Underline works though.)
I just upgraded from 2.8(.2?) to 2.8.6, and now I have this problem. I also just upgraded from Win XP to WIn 7 and upgraded from 32-bit to 64-bit, so I don't know if that is a factor.
I have files I created with the last version of GIMP that I can open and see the text properly formatted, but if I adjust the text the formatting disappears and WILL NOT come back.
GIMP won't print anymore either. My printer is set up correctly and I can print from other programs, but when I print from GIMP, it LOOKS like it went through, but the printer fails to do anything. I wind up having to tell GIMP to print to the microsoft xps writer (which DOES work) and then open the xps file I just made and have windows print it.
How do I align text? (L,R,C)
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is probably only task I will need from Gimp but I do need it in step by step.
I am the leader of a program at church and there is a logo for it. I am endeavoring to take that logo saved on my HD reduce its size ( I know How ) then add text to bottom and save it as a signature in pictures to use with the group.
Need to clean up the extraneous colors around the text and the graphic in this file. Can't see them so much on the screen, but they really stand out when printed. Any way to easily do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to insert a Ai graphic into msWord and the graphic text still be searchable in msWord? I would like the text in my Ai graphic to be searchable once the graphic is inserted in msWord. I have tried different Ai exports, but all come into msWord as pictures. Is there a way to keep the Text Layer in my Ai file searchable in msWord.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAt some point - I'm not clear when - something changed with my fonts(Linux - Slackware64 13.1). Now I cannot select, for example, the boldor italic version of DejaVu Sans. The appear as Regular.
- I tried to install the newest package for the dejavu fonts,
- ran mkfontscale
- ran mkfontdir
- Though probably unnecessary, ran fc-cache
First tried to 'reload fonts' (button in fonts dialog) in Gimp, thentried to restart gimp entirely. (and from a terminal to check for anymessages with --verbose).
the text always appears bold both on screen and printed in my student work. My tutor has now commented as it detracts from the thickness of picture lines. So i need to figure out how to change this. I have never selected bold.
In the 2D diagram I am working on at the moment i am using single line text, dimension text and text within a table key on the side. It is all the same in terms of boldness. I have seen other students work with less bold text and i need mine to be like this.
I have selcted standard style, size 6.000 and it is not annotative. Is text affected by lineweight or layers?
I am using autocad 08 LT and everytime i plot to pdf using standard cad dwg to pdf.pc3 the txt turns out bold.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am a relative newcomer to Photoshop CS5. I have been creating a document with a background image layer and a couple of text box layers. The font is set at Arial, italic, sharp. When I save the document as a PDF file, random words appear in bold. I have tried deleting these words in the PSD document text layer and retyping them but they still appear as bold in the PDF file. Interestingly when I save as a JPEG image the bold words appear as normal. CS5 version is 12.0.4 and OS is Windows XP.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a detail section of millwork ... and some of the text is bold and some are not. But the weird thing is that all the text is from the same style, none of the text is bold and they are all the same size. So why are some bold and some not? See attached, running Autocad Architecture 2011 on XP 64.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis is a problem running through only some of my drawings, I have tried forcing the z value to 0, no change. I have tried setting the ucs to current, world, no change. I have tried to flatten the text, no change.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have dwg files with Calibri font (our standard font style) that I am trying to xref into one drawing (a bunch of detail dwgs essentially). The detail looks fine in its own dwg - but when I xref the dwg into another dwg some text elements appear bold. I've check ALL of my font styles - nothing is selected to "bold"... I scale the x,y and z to the same scale.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have read many topics that talk about TTF text printing bold under various circumstances, but have not found one addressing my exact issue. I have attached a PDF with which I hope to illustrate my problem.
I have a non-annotative, Scale = 1, all elevations = 0, block; My text is PDF's as text whenever the block is left at 90 or is exploded then rotated. But whenever the blocked is rotated (any amount) the text is no longer interpreted as text, it prints bold.
I need to be able to align my blocks to other, rotated, objects in both model and paper space; so this issue is causing my a fair amount of grief. I have been told switching to a shx font is out of the question.
I have problem this Arial text style. Everytime i moved the text it looks like a bold text.
I have noticed only if the snap is ON. but if I OFF the snap the text is okay. even the attribute is the same.
I typicaly use romans for my text, however it doesnt allow you to bold or use italics.
Is there a way to change this, or is there a font that is very similar that will let you bold and italic?
why the mtext in the blue viewport prints bold (attached) when the rest of the text in an other viewport or paperscape prints fine? You can see this in the plot preview when zoomed far enough out.
This is plaguing many drawings thoughout the company I work for and no one can figure it out. The only work around I have been able to come up with print everything to PDF first and then to the plotter which is a real pain.
creating a PDF out of my Illustrator document - I have a bunch of identical headers which I've literally copy & pasted in place on every page so they are exactly the same. Yet, some pages - when exported to a PDF - are inexplicably bold and ugly! I've exported the entire document at once so it's not cause of different publication settings. I just can't explain why the PDF displays some of the titles differently - when they are exactly identical. how I can fix this display/export error? It looks like I've accidentally used a bold font on some titles, which is not the case.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this strange situation.. i use the Arial font inside my cad drawings and when i print my paperspace layout, the text inside the viewport is a little bit more "bold" then the text i put directly on paper space.
Maybe it's a trick to know what text is placed where, but i want all this to be uniform, same thickness. Is there a system variable to correct that issue?
See the image below: It's a 400 DPI scan from an impression i did.
Up to COUPE C1 is the text inside the viewport, under COUPE C1is the paperspace text. Both are the same height... but difference tickness.
I do a lot of CD designs, and often I have my text centered on the front covers. When I put the text centered, however, PSP is added an extra space to the end of text, so when I center it on the canvas the text is actually off-center to the left. When I go into edit the text, there is no space on the right of the words to delete.
With the text selected this is how it looks: The right edge of the frame should be flush with the right edge of the last 'T'.
Using Photoshp CS5 Extended and Windows 7 Home Premium. I try to convert a text layer to a shape and I'm told it cannot, becasue I have a faux bold style. Thing is, I don't have it set to bold. I tried with Tahoma and Ariel. I tried it as none, sharp, crisp, strong, and smooth. I checked other messages here about faux type probs, but no luck.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a word doc file but when I copy and paste the text into coreldraw I lose all the italics and bold. It's 4 pages with lots of bold and itallics and needs to be reflowed in draw but retain exact italics and bold. When I paste it into draw, I lose all the bold/italic formatting. Are there any workarounds to get the bold and italic text to copy and paste into draw?
View 17 Replies View RelatedWe have some blocks that have static text labels on the left and numeric attributes on the right. When these blocks are rotated so the text is near vertical the static text has a bold appearance.
If you explode/burst the block then this 'bold' appearance goes away. If you rotate the text to normal then the effect disappears as well. The bold appearance shows up on a plot as well. The effect is subtle at times but noticeable.
Sample drawing attached, see the block near the top of the drawing and a copy of it rotated to normal. Use the BURST command on the block on the left to see the change.
when working in my current drawing (Model Space), i create a new mtext item, and it shows in bold, i am aware of the common problem of the text items having a z height other than 0.00 causing this, but i have checked, and reset the z height, have also tried the flatten command, and even tried explode and then flatten/z height.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I have my alignment labels and plan view text align to the layout view in Paper Space they plot out very bold.
I am using Style: Swis721 BT-Italic. I use that style in the profile for labels and in plan view. When I plot out the sheet the profile view plots good but the text that was aligned in the plan view is very bold.
