At times when dimensioning or creating views in 2D, items will disappear. These items are dimensions or even complete views. They return as soon as hit the scroll wheel on the mouse or my 3D connexion mouse.
View 9 RepliesWe are using ACA2010 and use the project navigator to bring constructs into views then bring the views into sheets, which has been working great, but in the last few months we have gone to a sheet only to find that the view no longer contains the constructs. I was working on a project on Friday and the Site Plan view no longer had the site xrefed into it which I fixed, now today the Site Plan is fine but the Roof Plan is empty. This is not the 1st project this has happened to but it is the 1st time it has happened to me so I know nobody changed something they should not have. Is there a known bug in 2010 or something I should check. I don't want this to happen to the Floor Plan if it does I will lose all my dimensions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using shape outline styles for corridor "structures" materials list to depict my cross section material shapes in section views. After creating the materials list everything looks fine until I exit the file, re-open or try to plot it using Sheet Set Manager. All shape outlines disappear randomly & if regenall is ran after opening xs.dwg the shapes will reappear.
Seems like the shapes should stay put but I'm getting this in all xs.dwg's for all my alignments.
-Attached Sec view 1 .jpg shows how section should look & Sec view 2 shows the disappearing issue.
Again with regenall the shapes usually reappear so the biggest dileema is the inability to do multiple plots & there are many sheets to plot but there are also times when the materials list stops dsplaying & only way to get it back is recreate the materials list.

I am running into some trouble with user parameters that have been inserted into a dimension's "text box". I sometimes hide the dimension itself and insert these parameters so that iLogic can manipulate the upper & lower tolerance limits for a dimension.
The problem seems to arrise anytime one of the dimension's arrows becomes detached from the drawing (and perhaps for other reasons, too, although this is the only clear cause so far). I can reattach the arrow and the dimension seems healthy again, but if I go into the text editor, I notice that the link to any parameters that I've inserted has been lost. They appear as they were last set, but will not update if the parameters themselves change.
Is there a better workaround for this, or can we expect a solution in IV2013? I've invested close to a year's worth of work expecting this method to perform properly, and it will be a letdown if there's no solution.
I have an IDW file that has a corresponding .IPT Everytime you import a .ipt onto a sheet, a text accompanies it. I want to write a macros to edit this text.
As an usual practise it gives "VIEW, DESCRIPTION and SCALE" .
Instead of VIEW , I want the code to pick something from the i-properties.
Eg. Instead of VIEW, it shopuld write the STOCK NUMBER from the iproperties of the part.
Is this possible ?
Is there a way to associate a text string to a drawing view so when the view is moved
around the text goes with it and remains placed in accordance with the view?
Is there any way to control the priority of what information Inventor displays "on top" in a drawing when you have two elements that overlap?
My specific situation is I have a text note whose boundary (where the text 'box' would be if that was turned on) overlaps a detail of a section view and seems to be preventing the display of the hatch layer in one of my section views.
I have attached 3 pictures to show this problem. The pictures show the section view in 3 slightly different positions relative to the text box. I selected the text box before taking the screen capture so you can reference the green "handles" to know where the boundary of the text box would be. Notice how the hatching of the welds, flanges, and pipe as well as a portion of the extension line and arrow for the 3/16 dimension are 'covered' by the boundary of the text box.
Is there a way to control the priority in which different layers are displayed, or is there a function similar to the "Bring Forward/Send Backward" options in Microsoft Word?
FYI, I am running Inventor 2013 RTM build 138.
I'm using AutoCAD 2013. I need to explode text so that it will appear as line work, otherwise my surveying instrument won't display it.
When i use the express tools explode text command, the text disappears, this message is shown in the command bar
"The line objects have been placed on layer 0."
However, there is nothing on layer zero. Might this have something to do with missing shape files, or can AutoCAD only explode certain simple forms of text?
Moving a text box or section label and it disappears then zoom extents and everything disappears. save the file close reopen and everything back to normal.
I have tried exporting to a different AutoCad year (2010) but the same issue is still occurring.
In AutoCAD 2013, when I try to select a dimension object for moving, erasing, &c, the text disappears. How to get it to stay displayed? Seems to just be when using AutoCAD 2013.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen doing the "distance" command, typically as you go from point to point, the distance will be listed on the page next to my cursor as I go. Then if you left click, right click, it will list the final distance down in the command window. The machine in question no longer displays the distance on the page as you go. This is a very useful feature for us, and although we can distance things, using the text readout in the command window takes much longer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a second base view (using Layout/Create View/Base from model space). The problem is, I need it to be rotated from the original base view. However, when I rotate the part in model space, ALL of my views change.
So I guess my question is, how do I create multiple views of the same part that are seperate from the other base views?
i have views lets say 3 views on a sheet but in the list of views theres mores that appears maybe i inserted the extra views that are showing but i deleted them to put them on another sheet
the problem is they show up in the list of both sheet and i can't delete them from the list of the sheet that they were before

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had Corel X6 on my computer for a few months and have been making signs just fine with no major problems. However, last week it started getting rid of my text completely if I click on the pick tool or off of the text itself. The text does not hi-lite like it usually does with a box around it, but there is a small black box on the bottom left corner. we cannot make any signs without this program. I even uninstalled and re installed the entire program and still have the same problem.

All other drawings are fine and if I create another even using the same model it works just fine but I'd rather find out why than re-do the whole drawing.
I'm trying to generate frame members around a combination of 2D & 3D sketches, the preview is fine however when I click apply and OK it magically vanishes
Everything is set up fine in the 'Insert Frame' dialogue box and the previews look spot on.

We are using C3D 2013 and have recently had 3 different episodes where a dwg file was open and being worked in, CAD shut down without warning and the drawing was lost. As in, it's gone. No longer on the network anywhere. These were 3 different drawings in different projects.The drawings were not new, they had been previously created and worked in by more than one user. We were able to find a backup file and did not lose every thing but still thinking there has to be something causing this. The machine is a Dell Precision T5600, 16 GB of RAM, only had it for a few months.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently ran in to an issue where the imported AutoCAD blocks disappear when I export to .dwf, this only appears to happen after I add the revision table. If I were to add the revision prior to importing the blocks all seems ok. I have tried removing the block and deleting the definitions from the Inventor.dwg then re-inserting once more and I still have the same issue. The only real working solution I've found so far is to start from new and reproduce the drawings.

Both the context menus and dialog boxes are disappearing off the screen at different times - they are still there because when the mouse is moved across the area parts of the boxes reappear. Dell has replaced the video card, hard drive and motherboard and still the same problem.
View 9 Replies View Related I've got this problem where my text is dissapearing when I export a .PDF from PS. Some of the text dissapears and some is white with a thin outline (although it should just be solid black). I've read other things online from people with this problem but none of the solutions work for me. If I rasterise the text it works - but i don't want it rasterised.
- I'm not using Faux Bold or other effects
- I've tried with different fonts including Arial and Helvetica
- Tried changing the colour slightly
- Tried changing opacity slightly
- opened a new document with only text and it still does it.
I think it is only happening when i use a text box (dragging the text tool to make box rather than a single click)I've got Creative Cloud and PS is up to date. Working on a rMBP OSX10.8.4
Regarding Gimp version 2.8.2, I'm posting text to a picture, the trouble is when I highlight and try to resize the text it disappears. The text layer is still on top and the eye is still visable, so the text should be visable.. I have tried different fonts and colors and sizes with no success, things I can check to make this work again?
I did just reinstall this version today ( a couple of times ) and that is when the trouble started.

The families were brought in using "Copy to".Lately, sometimes, when editing a family in the custom content center the family suddenly "disappears" while I am still working on it. I can't see it. Other users on other computers can't see it, but content center editor believes it is still there.
In this particular case the "missing" family was called Hex Bolt -Inch.If I try to use "Copy to" to bring it back and start over I get a message like "Category Head Head in library GLM contains a family with an identical internal name. Would you like to replace the existing family ?(see attached file)" The filters do not seem to be the issue, since I can use "Save Copy as" to place the family (as long as I don't try to use Hex Bolt -Inch as the name) and I can see it.(see attached file).
Attempting to place the bolt after the disappearance causes runtime error and system crash.I always have to get our IT department to restore the file from backup, and I lose all the work i have done.

My company requires us to use two master project files instead of one and my problem is that i can add both .ipj files into the Projects navigator in Inventor and set one as the current project, but as soon as i close the navigation window and reopen it (presumably to switch to the other project) the project that is not the active project disappears from the navigation window. The .ipj file still exists, it just doesnt show in the navigator and i have to browse to find it again. This problem happens no matter which project i set to be currently active. How can i keep that from happening?

I am in a small assembly, going in and out of sketches used for machining, and then the sketch lines and dimensions will all be gone when I enter a sketch. If I hover over the sketch in the browser I can see the lines highlighted, but when I remove my mouse the will disappear. I cannot interact with the lines or dimensions at all. If I draw a new line, it immediately disappears. I have tried changing some things in the view tab and settings but haven't had any luck.

Photoshop CC, on my MacBook Pro Retina (Iris Graphics). The text disappears, erases basically, whenever I change the font or size. Every single action with text I have to undo. Change font, disappears/erases, undo etc. Happens regardless what font or size.
Also the performance is very poor, doubting it's optimised for Mavericks.

I am using Inventor 2013 to create some complex shaped Maritime items. They have a lot of lofts, variable radius curves, fillets, etc. Anyway, on the more complex pieces, my menus start to dissapear or a dialog box, for example the fillet dialog box, will turn solid black and my system will hangup for a minute while executing the command. Am I running low on system memory or is this a video card issue? Here are my system specs:

Marking menu that cuts off the bottom of the screen yet? This is very anoying that on some PC's if clicking somewhere closer to the bottom of the screen a portion of your context meny cuts off. If you click even lower then it jumps to the top but there is an area where it does not work.
