Regarding Gimp version 2.8.2, I'm posting text to a picture, the trouble is when I highlight and try to resize the text it disappears. The text layer is still on top and the eye is still visable, so the text should be visable.. I have tried different fonts and colors and sizes with no success.

I did just reinstall this version today ( a couple of times ) and that is when the trouble started.
I am trying to re size my text layer so that the borders would align with the edges of the text, but every time I adjust the upper part of the layer the text itself would shift downward, cutting off the lower part of the text. Is there a way I can conveniently adjust the layer so that it looks like the text fits the layer.
Example I am trying to achieve is something like this.
The problem I keep getting is this.
why my tool bars keep disappearing in GIMP 2.8.2? I know how to bring them back (go into settings, set them back to defaults and restart) .
View 2 Replies View RelatedI dunno if it is me, kde, gimp, or what.. but I can be editing along..yada yada.. do this, do that, and then look over and the toolbox on the left is missing most of the icons.. kinda like the scaling is wrong and the icons are pushed off the bottom under the tool options underneath it. sometimes it takes the usual layout with like 5-6 icons wide and replaces it with only 2 wide, sometimes only 1 wide. I tried stretching it and bringing it back, floating and redocking.. all with no fixy.
The only way I have figured out how to "undo" this is to close and restart gimp. Which is a pain when you have a mess of open files in various states of not done yet..
My text keeps disappearing after i have entered the text. I know you have to click the tick at the top right of the screen but i want to be able to drag the text around to see what looks good. Also, When im typing the text in i cannot see the text. I am using Photoshop CC,
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had Corel X6 on my computer for a few months and have been making signs just fine with no major problems. However, last week it started getting rid of my text completely if I click on the pick tool or off of the text itself. The text does not hi-lite like it usually does with a box around it, but there is a small black box on the bottom left corner. we cannot make any signs without this program. I even uninstalled and re installed the entire program and still have the same problem.
View 5 Replies View Related I've got this problem where my text is dissapearing when I export a .PDF from PS. Some of the text dissapears and some is white with a thin outline (although it should just be solid black). I've read other things online from people with this problem but none of the solutions work for me. If I rasterise the text it works - but i don't want it rasterised.
- I'm not using Faux Bold or other effects
- I've tried with different fonts including Arial and Helvetica
- Tried changing the colour slightly
- Tried changing opacity slightly
- opened a new document with only text and it still does it.

I use a lot the "Automate -> PDF Presentation", in Photoshop CS6 (english language) feature, but in the last months, something really weird is happening.When I export a file, some parts of the text disappears, like is being corrupted by something.
My pc specs: win7 x64 - portuguese language
Photoshop CC, on my MacBook Pro Retina (Iris Graphics). The text disappears, erases basically, whenever I change the font or size. Every single action with text I have to undo. Change font, disappears/erases, undo etc. Happens regardless what font or size.
Also the performance is very poor, doubting it's optimised for Mavericks.
I'm using AutoCAD 2013. I need to explode text so that it will appear as line work, otherwise my surveying instrument won't display it.
When i use the express tools explode text command, the text disappears, this message is shown in the command bar
"The line objects have been placed on layer 0."
However, there is nothing on layer zero. Might this have something to do with missing shape files, or can AutoCAD only explode certain simple forms of text?
At times when dimensioning or creating views in 2D, items will disappear. These items are dimensions or even complete views. They return as soon as hit the scroll wheel on the mouse or my 3D connexion mouse.

I have tried exporting to a different AutoCad year (2010) but the same issue is still occurring.
I have CS6 and I can not see the names, eyeball icons, lock icons and arrow icons in the Layers Palette. I see that the layers are there and when I hover my mouse over the layers the names and icon show up but they disappear once I click off the layers palette.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running into some trouble with user parameters that have been inserted into a dimension's "text box". I sometimes hide the dimension itself and insert these parameters so that iLogic can manipulate the upper & lower tolerance limits for a dimension.
The problem seems to arrise anytime one of the dimension's arrows becomes detached from the drawing (and perhaps for other reasons, too, although this is the only clear cause so far). I can reattach the arrow and the dimension seems healthy again, but if I go into the text editor, I notice that the link to any parameters that I've inserted has been lost. They appear as they were last set, but will not update if the parameters themselves change.
Is there a better workaround for this, or can we expect a solution in IV2013? I've invested close to a year's worth of work expecting this method to perform properly, and it will be a letdown if there's no solution.
In AutoCAD 2013, when I try to select a dimension object for moving, erasing, &c, the text disappears. How to get it to stay displayed? Seems to just be when using AutoCAD 2013.

Then if you left click, right click, it will list the final distance down in the command window. The machine in question no longer displays the distance on the page as you go. This is a very useful feature for us, and although we can distance things, using the text readout in the command window takes much longer.

I therefor want to take a slice of the background colour and copy that overtop of the text. I have tried to use the rectangle tool to copy and paste the slice. However I am unable to workout how to expand the slice (expand the width) overtop of the text.. I thought it should be a simple matter of dragging the rectangle out to the desired width. I have also tried changing the pixel amount in the Tool options section. how to expand a rectangle?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Gimp 2.8 to change print size to 6 x 4. Original image is 1600 x 1200. So I go to „Print Size“ and change size in inches to 6 x 4 (naturally unlinking „chain“ symbol). I then save the image but when I reopen its at 6 x 4.5 and of course it prints this size.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing GIMP 2.8.10 in Windows 8.1. The two default dialogs open are Layers and Brushes. The Layers dialog takes most of the space. I want to shrink it vertically but when I try to drag up the cursor with the two vertical arrows it moves by itself without resizing the dialog. When I do the same horizontally it works fine. I would like to see less of the Layers dialog and more of Brushes dialog. How do I do this?

What I want to ask is this:
I want to plug a mouse. Normally movements either of the pen on the tabletor of the mouse are mapped to the cursor.I want to keep the mouse plugged while unattaching it from the cursor. Sothe cursor is only tablet driven. Then I want the brush size to be driven by the Y value of the mouse, whileI drow with the tablet.
Maybe editing the input devices editor? Or will I have to operate on Xserver also?
I have a regular 4 x 6 picture. I want to crop it and then keep that as a 4 x 6 and print out. I also want to deal with "inches" here.

I want to go from a 160X158 image to 32X32, how i can do this while retaining quality.
My end goal is to create simple bitmaps that only contain a bit of text in them in black and white.
To do this I am creating a new image and some default size. I then add the text , set the background colour to black and the text colour to white and create my text.I am using the snap to canvas edge and sit it up in a corner.I then want to resize the who canvas to be the same size as the text block created and save the image. How to do this?I have seen the crop tool and can select the area I want but cant figure out how to save this as a new canvas/image sized only to the size of the text.

I tried copping and stuff but I can't seem to use the tools right. I wrote a lengthy detailed version of this but figured it was too much to read so I am editing/cutting all the details out
Also the resize part. nevermind I got it figured, I just had to resize the image and the canvas follows suit. I didn't know that, thought I had to resize canvas first then image like in photoshop.
