Jun 28, 2009I'm not talking about the "deactivate" menu being greyed out or anything. I can select it and then tick the checkbox to erase my serial-number, but when clicking on "Deactivate" and answering with "Yes", it takes about 2-3 seconds before I get a "Deactivation denied" message. I tried to call Adobe Support, but the woman I got on the phone was completely useless. She didn't understand what I wanted to do, and wanted to provide me with new activation details. I explained to her three times why that wouldn't work and she simply skipped ahead to the next useless response in her database. Here is what I'm trying to do: 1) Deactivate the entire CS4 Master Suite.2) Make a backup of the my HD3) Clean-install Windows 7 RC (can't upgrade from Vista Business)4) Install and activate CS4 Master Suite on Windows 7. If that works (including my other important software) then I would continue using that machine until Windows 7 final is released in October and then I would need to repeat steps 1-4 again (you can't upgrade the RC to the full version). If that doesn't work (or one of my important programs doesn't work) then I would use the back-up and re-activate CS4. Why is there a limit for deactivations? I've activated/deactivated this serial number perhaps 2-3 times. Since I always deactivate before activating a new computer,

why the eff my photoshop has flattened two of my PSD files without my permission.

I work in PSD then when done I hit save. Then File> Save as> PDF then I name my PDFS, do so for my other projects then I close everything. I've had two files already where I have opened the PSDS and they're flattened when I never saved them this way.
Lightroom :: 4 - Access Denied To File
May 10, 2013I am using Windows 7, Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5. My workflow is to download in LR, some editing, and then to finish in PS-
The first problem I saw first in LR when certain files had the message "Access denied to this file". I could not open, edit, move, nor copy these files, although other photos taken on the same day and downloaded at the same time were unaffected. These files can not be opened in any other program.
The second problem has happened to me twice now. I use two external hard drives - "Freecom F" and "Elements G". There is very little on G-only backups.
On opening LR I see that "G" has all the folders from "F" although they are all "missing". "F" drive does not appear at all in library mode, but if I try to import, then "F" appears, but all the images have the message "Appears to have been already imported to LR".
Photoshop :: Permission For Installing 7.0 Version On XP
Oct 8, 2012I had Photoshop 7.0 installed on an XP that crashed and had to re-built (new hard disk? I don't remember). Anyway I lost all the apps I had, and I'm trying to get PS 7.0 re-installed. I have the original CD complete with the serial number right on the box. But this was an upgrade from PS 6.0, for which I no longer have the CD (if indeed I ever did - for all I can remember it may have been a download). I did remember to keep the serial number from PS6.0. Unfortunately, the install process, when it doesn't find a copy of PS 6.0 on this (wiped clean) hard drive, does not provide me the opportunity to key my PS 6.0 serial number. All I can do in the dialog I'm presented with is press OK and exit.

Jul 27, 2009Upgraded my BIOS to the latest version and my mirrored raid freaked out. So, I have to resetup my raid, reformat my drives, and reinstall windows. During my "closing up" of my current windows install (backup any other data, deactivate software, etc), Photoshop's deactivation software is giving me: Deactivation denied.Click this link for help troubleshooting deactivation problem. Error code: 194:1 For the record I've only previously deactivated this particular piece of software once in the past, and this is the only machine that it's installed on. I can't do anything with my machine until I get this deactivated and after being on hold with adobe customer service for near a half an hour, I feel like I'm getting no where.

Dec 26, 2012I would like to know about the permission needed to edit the autocad file. In my folder there are many autocad files. I need to give the edit permission to one particual file to a specific user.
First i tried with folder level security. But i failed.
1. I have given full permission for the particular user (Except: Delete,Write Attribute) in the folder level. But when i tried to open the drawing file, it throws an error. Error: "File is currently using by the user1. Would you like to open the file read-only?"
2. I have given full permission for the particular user (Except: Delete) in the folder level. Now i could open the file successfully. But after editing, when i tried to save the document, it throws an error: Error: "Unable to save to drawing D:TestTest.dwg as it is being accessed by another session. Drawing saved to "D:Testsav460B.tmp"
3. Now i have given full permission for the particular user including Delete permission in the folder level. Now i could save the drawing succesfully after editing.
From this , i guess, it needs delete permission in the folder level to edit and save the drawing (I understood this is for creating/deleting tmp/.bak files during saving the document.). But giving delete permission in the folder level is very risky.

CorelDRAW X4 :: Fold Lines
Oct 2, 2011Luckily I found your site I have used CorelDraw X4 for a couple of years now, mainly for my crafting hobby. Â For some strange reason now, sometime when I created a dashed line (as I always have before) and send to my cutter it arrives as a solid cut line and not a "pounce" line. Â It doesn't always happen to all of the dashed lines which on the visual in Corel are correct. Â Even if I try to delete a problem line and create a new correct one and then send again to the cutter, either this or even one of the correct "pounce" lines will appear as a solid cut line. Â I've never had the problem before so I tried a "repair" to Corel which doesn't seem to have had any effect.

Apr 18, 2012I am trying to fold the attached sheet metal part that is created from an imported ACAD drawing. After cleaning up the sketch I created the face and then created a sketch with the first bend line on it, but when I attempt to flod the part it will not sellect the bend line. I have attempted selecting the line before selecting fold and that does not work. I have placed the sketch both on the part surface and the datum plane. The only line I can get fold to select are the two ends of the part but I don't see how anything could be bent off the end of the part.
