I have several photos which carry the message "File access denied". On the same folder there are photos taken on the same day which I can access. I dont believe that I have done anything to the photos outside of LR (4). I use Windows 7

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7, Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5. My workflow is to download in LR, some editing, and then to finish in PS-
The first problem I saw first in LR when certain files had the message "Access denied to this file". I could not open, edit, move, nor copy these files, although other photos taken on the same day and downloaded at the same time were unaffected. These files can not be opened in any other program.
The second problem has happened to me twice now. I use two external hard drives - "Freecom F" and "Elements G". There is very little on G-only backups.
On opening LR I see that "G" has all the folders from "F" although they are all "missing". "F" drive does not appear at all in library mode, but if I try to import, then "F" appears, but all the images have the message "Appears to have been already imported to LR".
My computer had to be reformatted and I need to reinstall elements10. I have the key. I tried using Pro Design Tools but when I click on file 1 or file 2 I get a Access denied message.

I have tried to load my copy of CS4 from the disc but get the message file access denied.I've tried another laptop - same message - and my Lightroom loads ok.
I have more photos ending up lost. Most I've done nothing t,o or moved since importing. I've tried the directions outlined in "help" but get the message "file not found" or "folder not found". All missing photos can be seen on my screen but I can't do anything with them. how to recover and have access to them?

I'd like to select certain photos from my catalog, say those with attribute >= two stars, and back them up to one of my smaller drives. It's important I back up the photos themselves - with or without a catalog - as the goal here is extra security.
Is there a way I can do this inside Lightroom?
I can't seem to export photos as I get the following error message when trying:
invalid parameter name: colour nosie reduction smoothness
Normally I do not have a problem reordering photos in LR4. However with my last import from a folder in Pictures on my Imac's hard drive I am being shown the following error message,
'Cannot reorder photos. The currently selected scource does not support custom order.'
My Imac works on OS X version 10. 6.8, with a 500GB hard drive of which 186GB is free.
I wasn't aware of using keywords and can see how useful they can be.I have more than one catalog and am having a hard time accessing all my photos. I'm thinking of uninstalling Lightroom and starting from scratch using only one catalog.

In the past few days, I made a new book (205 pages) and it simply give an error message in the middle of an uploading process. I'm wondering if starting this all over again is the only option. The error message simply states there was an error during the uploading process and nothing more.

I recently transfered them all to my main harddrive on my imac and linked them and everything so they all show up and i can access them. However now when i try and export them they are saying "An unexpected end-of-file occured" and thats it. Also some of the photos have like a ulticolored streak through them and what not. View 1 Replies View RelatedI select image in LR2.7 to edit in PS6. It launches PS6 but image does not come through. It comes up with message "the file could not be edited because CS6 could not be launched" when in fact it has launched CS6 but not the image.
I have uninstalled LR2 a few times and reinstalled it and when I leave LR2 I can select image to edit in CS6 and it works okay but when I update on Adobe website to LR 2.7 it starts to play up and not work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, I am getting the above message, when trying to import RAW files in LR 4.3. I tried with two different cards and two different Readers.
When I click on Import, I get a blank thumbnail of all the photos with the message in it. I was able to see the photos in Finder on the Compact Flash card with no problem.
I have LR and camera up to date for a while, so nothing different has been done that I know of.
I just switched from PC to MAC and have troubles using the PC catalogues, or better: associating the images.
I copied the catalogue as well as the images to the MAC harddisk. When I open the catalogue I see the images, but they cannot be found on the disk. So I search on the harddisk for the new path but after finding it I get an error message "Die Datei "xxx.CR2" ist mit einem anderen Foto im Katalog verbunden." In English something like "The file "xxx.CR2" is associated/connected with a different photo in the catalogue."

This is happening whether I'm exporting a Jpeg or a raw file. Cannot figure what has happend but it's doing it with old and new files, so it's not an issue of a corrupted file.

I have imported multiple photos in the VSP photo library. Some photos are fine. They can be added to the project with no problem. A couple of photos when I try to move them to the project or right click for properties, VSP locks up with an unspecified error and creates a dump file. Then the program shuts down.
I have deleted the photos from the 15.0 directory and am able to delete problem photos from the library. Tried to import photos as a media file and it imports some photos ok and same photos lock up VSP x5.The issue seems to be with certain photos but I have not been able to find anything different with working photos so far.
The PE6 won't even boot up on my computer. Mostly I use it for the phot organizer. Now I cannot access the organizer to find my photos. I do not see that organizer with the CS5.5 program. Is there another way to access those photos. Or can I reinstall the PE6?

Lightroom is decreasing the size of my photo significantly, make them only about an 8 x 10 size and some as little as 3x5. I have tried everything I can think of, and it works as a tiff file, but for some reason it shrinks the picture on jpeg.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a folder on my hard drive with 72 photos (files) in it. When I pull this folder up in Lightroom 3, the number next to the folder incorrectly indicates that there are 73 photos in this file!? When I "Select Al"l photos for this folder, it indicates that 72 out of 73 photos were selected. Why does Lightroom indicate one extra photo that should not be there, and how do I correct this? Synchronizing the folder did not fix this.
