Lightroom 4. Can't get error message that a particular file is missing off the screen. I have verified that the file is gone. Now how do I get rid of that message

I've tried the directions outlined in "help" but get the message "file not found" or "folder not found". All missing photos can be seen on my screen but I can't do anything with them. how to recover and have access to them?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just switched from PC to MAC and have troubles using the PC catalogues, or better: associating the images.
I copied the catalogue as well as the images to the MAC harddisk. When I open the catalogue I see the images, but they cannot be found on the disk. So I search on the harddisk for the new path but after finding it I get an error message "Die Datei "xxx.CR2" ist mit einem anderen Foto im Katalog verbunden." In English something like "The file "xxx.CR2" is associated/connected with a different photo in the catalogue."
I've recently encounterd a problem while trying to export images out of Lightroom 4. I keep getting an error messge "File canot be written." This is happening whether I'm exporting a Jpeg or a raw file. Cannot figure what has happend but it's doing it with old and new files, so it's not an issue of a corrupted file.

have encountered an error message on opening Lightroom 4 using Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.
The message is saying - Error in reading preview cache.
After I save a file for "Web & Devices," when I open it, it returns this message, "This file contains file info data which cannot be read and has been ignored." Will this cause any problem with the file once I place it in the website I'm building? I've never seen this message before on a photo I've edited. The changes I made involved color correction.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had pictures on a flash drive that I scanned in. When I brought them into Lightroom, I "added" them to lightroom. I didn't "move" them. So, I am assuming that when the flash drive is missing is why I am getting the "jpg is missing or offline" message. Is there any way to fix this or do I just have to delete them all and "move" them?

When I downloaded my photos into Lightroom today I used today's date on the folder, but got the year wrong, 2013. After I completed editing my entire photo session, and tried to export some of the images, I realized I had the date wrong on the folder. I used my Mac's "Finder" to locate the file and change the name to 2014, with the rest of the folder name. I see now that this was a mistake and I should have probably changed the file name IN lightroom instead. Now I cannot export because I am getting the message about the files being offline or missing. I have tried to correct this by changing the folder name back to the original incorrect name (year), but this did not solve it. I clicked on the question marks and tried to "find" the folder, but that did not work either. It would be nice to be able to save my work in editing, rather than to have to start over again. In addition, Lightroom now shows several extra folders with the same folder names have been created that I didn't plan or create, purposely at least :

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do you turn off the 'image is offline or missing' dialog when no drives are hooked with the source files. I'm on LR3, and I don't remember this being an issue with LR2. Doing a client presentation with my MBP and the files are indeed offline. I usually my client selection process from the grid and loupe views, but I'm getting this message, pretty large across the top of the image. I don't remember this being an issue before, so either it wasn't there at all, or the text was smaller.

I have an ai file that I can not save with out getting the File I/O error message. One person suggested that this file may be corrupted since I've been bouncing back and forth between 2 different Illustrator programs. I use CS-4 at work, save as CS-3 format then continue working on it at home. I tried copying each layer to a new fresh doc. but still get the error code. Is there a way to fix this file? Both back-up files I have behave the same way.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I double click an AI file to open it, I get this message: "Can't open the illustration. There is not enough room for the window, increase document area and try again". This error started happening about a week or two ago. Although it is inconvenient to have to go to File>Open and then locate the file to open it since I am used to doing it the other way at least it is a way to open the AI file. I just discoved that if I double click a graphic in a Adobe Acrobat Pro using the Edit Object I get the same error message. This is a problem.I have checked previous discussions about this and tried things like unchecking the "open as tab" option in the preferences but that does not work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently updated one of my PC's. I tried to launch VS x5 and I received a "corrupt file message" with error code 38. I've read all of the previous threads here and others online referring to Protexis Licensing V2 in the Services tab. I've un-installed, reinstalled several times. Would be nice is a "Repair" option was available. I've entered the serial numbers, several times, made it to the "Register Product" page but can never get the program to start. This was an update from VS 4 and I've entered the serial number for that when prompted. I have the program working just fine on another completely new system. Both are running Windows 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI selected all photos in a Tag in the Organizer then selected Create. No matter what I try to create, only about 1/3 of the selected photos appear in the project bin at the bottom of the page. I refreshed thumbnails for all photos and it still happens.
There are blank spaces with numeric filenames (not actual file names) between the thumbnails which display. When I double-click a blank, I get a message "Cannot open '[filename.extn]' because it is the wrong type of file." All of the files are jpgs edited in PSE. The only reference to this message I have found was a FAQ about Cannon files, but these are not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running LR5.2 on MacOSX 10.8.5.
I am attempting to import images from a memory card via a card reader, using Copy in the Import dialog. The destination folder is on an external hard drive. There is no second copy, and I have deleted any previous second copy destinations.
LR can see the images on the card, but when I select Import, the progress bar moves along and a few hours later there are no images either added to the catalog nor copied to the external hard drive. If I watch the destination folder in Finder I can see that there are a whole lot of temporary folders being made and erased each with the file name of the photo, but there is no permanent transfer of data to the external hard drive. The error message is as follows "lightroom 5 could not copy a file to the requested location" and there is a list of the numbers of images (which is all of them) that were not copied or added to the catalog.
I have tried a different card reader. I have checked and double checked that I have read and write permissions on the external hard drive. I have checked that I have read and write permissions on all the Lightroom folders in the Application Support folder.
To make matters worse when I purchased LR5 upgrade initially I was able to import like normal on both of my computers, and today neither one will allow me to import via LR. I have not imported images for about a month on either machine but prior to that there was no problem.
I am able to add photos to the catalog from the external hard drive once transferred from the card, but I wanted to avoid this for time management reasons and also because I like to rename on Import.
LIghtroom 3.6 won't start and get the following error message "Lightroom - Opening Catalog: untitled (27 0f 42).jpg.lrcat."
I have uninstalled Lightroom and re-installed and still get the same error.
I have been using Lightroom to catalog my images on my Mac for three years now. All of the sudden a month ago, I tried opening the program to import new photographs and it gave me this error message "Lightroom Quit Unexpectedly" click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically.So, after many attempts, I decided that I would try reloading the original software which I purchased. It will not open the program.

I'm receiving an error message everytime I open Lightroom followed by it immidiately closing then telling me it will fix the problem when it launches the next time. The error message is:

How can I fix this problem without losing all of my images.
I have the latest version of Photo and Graphic Designer 9, and I have two .eps files that I cannot open because when I try to open them directly or import I get an error message that says that there is an error detected in the EPS file at line ####. These are files that I purchased and downloaded, and presumably they should not have errors. I don't have other software that is meant to open EPS files, so I cannot verify personally, but I do have reason to assume they are valid files.
