I'm looking to recreate the crease/fold lines below. I've found various tutorials showing ways to create fold lines using thegradient tools (i.e putting black/white to create fold) and others that use an overlay of crinkled image and making opaque.Neither of these produce effects like the ones attached.
Luckily I found your site I have used CorelDraw X4 for a couple of years now, mainly for my crafting hobby. For some strange reason now, sometime when I created a dashed line (as I always have before) and send to my cutter it arrives as a solid cut line and not a "pounce" line. It doesn't always happen to all of the dashed lines which on the visual in Corel are correct. Even if I try to delete a problem line and create a new correct one and then send again to the cutter, either this or even one of the correct "pounce" lines will appear as a solid cut line. I've never had the problem before so I tried a "repair" to Corel which doesn't seem to have had any effect.
I am working in the 3ds Max 2014 tutorials. The specific tutorial is "Drawing Patterns for the Clothes". The subsection is "Use the Garment Maker and Cloth Modifiers to Prepare the Skirt". I am working on the area of the SEAMS to create the PLEATS. 3ds Max won't allow me to change the Crease Angle to 150 as it says in the tutorial. When I position the mouse over the box where the dimensions are, it turns into a hand shape. I can change any other dimension in the SEAMS rollout.
We have an old black & white photograph which has a bad crease acrosss the middle. This shows up as a ragged white line after scanning in. What is the best way to remove this a blend the grays together?
I have tried the clone tool which work quite well but you can see the circles and curves from the brush on the clone tool although I have tried various point sizes. Is there perhaps a way to use the clone tool then select the area and blend the gray together to get rid of the curves from the brush?
I'm working on a project right now where i need to use creased edges for sculpting.
I'm on Mudbox 2012 SAP 1, as mentioned in the title
Importing the FBX from Maya with smooth on (smooth preview) So The sculpying itself goes well.
But when it comes to transfert detail on creased topology, the problems start to emerge from the myst..................
So. I get ugly artefacts on the creased edges locations. I can bust'em out, but its very time consuming.
So Transfert to a non creased topology. Lovely transfert with no errors.
Then extracting vector displacement from the non-creased topology and the result is bad when rendering. The mesh looks smoothed without the sharp corners present on the sculpt.
So, trying to extract with non-creased topo as source and creased as target. Better, but still not good. Tryed use crease and hard edges, subdivided target topo.. Almost anything in fact.
Even flatten the non-creased topo before extracting maps. I'm loosing my teeth, weight, and my son doesn't remember my name.
Any workflows with creased edges ? Is the hole stuff better implemented in Mudbox 2013 ?
Working in acad2011, I have a 3D model and i did flatshot. The obscured lines I chose to be - - - - - (ISO02W100). Now i have to annotate and get my paper layout rdy for printing.
Questions: 1. Is there a way of scaling lines that make up my flatshot image in model space? 2. How can i scale the lines in paper space?
The - - - - - lines just don't seem right in my paper space.
I have got a large drawing with multiple viewports and some layers that are shown in model space won't show when I access model space from paper space (through the viewport). I have had a look at the layer manager through the viewport and everything is switched on, there is no viewport freeze activated but still I can't see the lines in the viewport in paper space (either in model or paperthrough the template).
I want to print the drawing from the paper space, but I have there thick lines of attached dwg files. In the model space everything seems to be OK. How to change it?
“Scale lineweight” issue. When plotting in the office to A2 Printer I usually check the “Scale lineweight” checkbox. In some drawing “Scalelineweight ” does mess with the lines scales showed in the preview and on the paper. why?
I'm using AC 2011LT on a PC Every time I print to PDF or printer a line appears which is not visible on the model or paper space. It is even not visible when I preview the print before printing (again from model or paper). And on different layouts the line moves and sometimes doubles.
I have done all the regular things - all layers on, all unfrozen, all visible, etc, I've purged, regened, made a save as file, gone to another persons computer but still the same problem.
How I get the edges to fold round behind the navigation bar exactly as it is in this picture.
I know how to round corners, but that' not what this is. I know its almost the same as a ribbon, but its not, its folding round behind the background color.
I have Elements 9 and created a card in bi-fold format and cannot figure out how to get it to print in that format. I have a Dell V715W printer. Photoshop help is not useful. I am trying to figure out if I need to print add a blank page to the front and print two pages to one sheet (front and back) or something else. There don't seem to be many options when printing or edit options to the file/project/card within Elements 9.
I am useing a Canon Pro 9000 MKII and when I try to print 11x14 paper, it will not alow custom paper size. The Canon printer driver does have custom size but it does not show up in printer settings.
I'm using version 7, I'm trying to create a curled paper effect then paste an image on the "paper". A couple of web sites suggested creating a rectangle then create a path or something like that and then using the pen tool and the "handles" manipulate the corners. I'm not sure if I have the terminology correct but the problem is that when I create the rectangle and go to add the path (the icon looks like a circle with handles on it) it's grayed out and can not be selected and manually creating a path with the pen tool doesn't work.
I need to create a booklet with a staggered fold, so that there are tabs. It is basically a booklet where the pages are offset 1/4" - 1/2" before folding/stapling. How to set this up in DRAW, or is there a template somewhere I can use?
I am trying to fold the attached sheet metal part that is created from an imported ACAD drawing. After cleaning up the sketch I created the face and then created a sketch with the first bend line on it, but when I attempt to flod the part it will not sellect the bend line. I have attempted selecting the line before selecting fold and that does not work. I have placed the sketch both on the part surface and the datum plane. The only line I can get fold to select are the two ends of the part but I don't see how anything could be bent off the end of the part.
Inventor Premium 2013 SP1.1 Vault 2013- plain vanilla version HP G71 notebook celeron cpu w 4gb RAM and 64 bit system Win 7 home premium
I am trying to fold a sheet into an "L" shape (using the the Fold command) but i would like to have the inside of the bend to be sharp and not a radius like on the outside. Is there any way that i can achieve this?
I am having real difficulty in putting a fold on a sheet metal part that only fold part of the piece. I have made the part as a solid body and it almost looks the part but not quite.how to draw the part as a sheet metal piece.
The is very simple to make as a sheet metal part, the piece in question is placed into the press brake to the 34mm depth and then its folded to the 13 degree angle.
Is there a feature on the latest series of inventor whereby you can automatically generate fold detail on the flat pattern , ie. fold up 45 degrees, eliminating mistakes. I am currently on Inventor 2008 so this feature could be on a new version.
The left-hand part was created by someone else, using the bend part command in the "modify" tab.The right-hand part was created by me using fold in the sheet metal environment, using the same sketch. Why, is my part shorter?
