In my one file I am unable to do copy and past command in paragraph text mode in one particular paragraph text handle. Can't find the reason. But in same file with new artistic or paragraph text handle I can do copy and past.
View 3 RepliesIn the last 2 days Corel has decided to start changing Artistic Text to Paragraph Text when I copy & paste it across documents, completely changing the font, size & colour of what I am copying.
I've just done a factory reset & it's still doing it.
I don't recall doing anything that would change a setting.
The text I am copy & pasting are disclaimers that are all set on 1 document & I copy & paste them to a proof as needed.
For some reason i can no longer copy and paste text from one page to another properly.
I write the text out as normal (not using a text box) but when i copy and then try to past to another page it then does several other things.
It changes the font and cap height, puts it onto a text box and centres it on the page?
If i copy and paste text along with an object (say a simple box) everything copies and pastes perfectly, just not text on its own
I have a problem in trying to copy text from an existing multi column text box and pasting it into another existing text box. It just doesn't work. If I copy text from a single column text box into another text box, single or multi column, it does work.
The only was to copy text from a multi column text box is to use paste special which then creates a completely new single column text box and pastes the text there. I loose all the formatting.
I can then copy the text from the text box created by that paste special process and then copy that to where I want it to go, but of course I then have to reset all the formatting.
I'm using the latest version of Corel Draw X6 -this probem however seems to have been introduced in X6 as I've just open X5 on my system and the copy/paste functon works as it shoud.
For some time I was using CorelDraw 12 with Windows XP and Excel 2007.I normally make some tables in Excel which I copy and paste into Corel using "Paste special"/Picture/Enhanced Metafile. In Windows XP there was no problem. Since I switched to Windows 7, I have the following problems:
- The font Wingdings 3 comes out as Arial.
- The second problem is a very strange thing: Some characters, such as ,-"; , always at the END of the line, just dissapear. It happens sometimes, not always, and I can't see absolutely no logic in it: I copy the same thing, paste it several times, and sometimes the comma comes out, sometimes not. I remember that this happened to me ONCE, long time ago, when I was still using XP, but then I restarted Corel and it stopped making problems. But now, with Windows 7, it happens almost all the time. I tried it on a few different PCs and I even tried it with Corel X4. Always the same problem.
How do I remove the "paragraph" symbol or turn it off??????
It wasnt on when i first installed it last week and i must have turned it on by accident...and there is not a button that i can see to turn it off like in ms word.
I have a document of 300 pages or so of flowing text which I wish to edit into chapters.
Ideally I would like to select the start of a line of text and place it at the top of a page where it will then stay without breaking the paragraph links, as in Word (this also maintains the word count across the whole document).
Alternatively, could I simply break the paragraph links? When I attempt this now with Arrange/Break Paragraph Text, all that happens is
that a new page with an unlinked text frame appears, but the 'before' and 'after' pages are still linked, which defeats the objective.
The only way I've found to divide the document up is to copy it whole and then delete pages before and after the required chapter breaks and then reassemble them into one document, which is pretty laborious.
I'm sure I'm missing something really basic here.
I am doing a job with columns of donor names (originating from a Word file). Most of the lines space just fine but occasionally there is a 'phantom line' for want of a better term, sort of like I've gone from single spacing to 1.5 or so.
The thing is my paragraph text stats don't change... I highlight good lines - they show as 100%, I highlight the troublesome section, it shows as 100% and there is nothing in the Word file to show that this originated there.
As the job needs to get out the door, I'll just cut out the offending bits, make them artistic text and drop them back in to fit properly. WIth more than a thousand names this is getting pretty old pretty quick.
why the bounding box is so wrong when exporting paragraph text as EPS and placing it in InDesign or opening in Photoshop? See screenshots below. Text is being convert to curves in the EPS export dialog box.
At one point today, I was exporting an entire 8.5x11 page with a small block of paragraph text in the middle and it came into InDesign at 10x11".

My boss has produced a layout that has images, artistic text and paragraph text and wants the whole thing half the size. Obviously the paragraph text doesn't just scale down when everything is grouped, do I just select the paragraph text and convert it to artistic text ?

how to curve text within a shape, as paragraph text, not artistic text? (See my attached image.)
I have drawn the shape, inserted the text as paragraph text, but the text always wants to sit straight. I am so frustrated as I can find a workaround in either Corel or Adobe CS products. I have tried using artistic text in Corel, but have to do it line by line - and this brings other problems, such as I cant justify each line with each other, and sometimes a character jumps up relative to the other characters and the entire paragraph does not taper in...so this is not a solution, apart from the fact it will take me FOREVER to insert line by line....I would like to treat the text as a multiple line paragraph, and follow the shape.
the speed of cutting and pasting, as well as saving a drawing in CorelDraw X5 has drastically slowed down.Could it be a Windows issue and not a Corel issue? I have plenty of RAM and I've defragged.

I have some 20 pages file and used 2 font in it. Now when I look in Text - Text Statistics it is showing 6 different fonts other then I have used. I try to look in object manager it is showing paragraph text with only one font. How to find out the fonts that is not used by me.

I need to hide the dotted boxes that are now showing in X3 around all paragraph text on maybe 1000 business slides I created 5 to 10 years ago and now want to update.
Changing to artistic text does make the dotted boxes go away but is there a master setting that would make them go away in paragraph text?
Five to ten years ago I created maybe 1000 busness slides in CorelDraw and then moved their images to Powerpoint. Versions used were 11 and X3.
Now when I want to dust them all off and freshen them I find dotted boxes around .
I am using corel X6 64 on a Dell optiplex 9010 intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz. 8.00GB of RAM. Its taking about 1-2 minutes to copy/cut/open a file/save a file or even publish to PDF. On the same machine Same circumstances but different User i have no problem. I have to use my user because its connected to my email and at this company i cant change that. I have researched many forums and its not color styles or object styles. It does it on a new file with only one object created. I got a new computer signed on to my user account and the problem persists.

I've got a calendar artwork with 12 paragraph objects, and after I've let go of the mouse button, the screen will continue trying to update for anything up to 10 seconds afterwards, during which time I can't do anything.

2, it's only the Copy command that doesn't work. Once copied, text does paste irrespective of the amount of text or linked pages.

I had several CorelDraw documents that crashes on me, and the auto-backup did not work.
In all these documents, if I open the text paragraph window and typed on it, the entire program will crash if I exit that window after finishing.
I discovered that if I typed directly on the text paragraph, it will not crash. That means do not open the text paragraph window to do editing. But this makes editing very slow since it seems to be more memory intensive.
Strange the auto-backup directory/folder always do not have my backup files too.
I just installed CorelDRAW X6 on a new 64bit Win-7 machine. When I try to use keyboard shortcuts to cut and paste paragraph text in a document I created with X5 on my old 32bit Win-XP machine, CorelDRAW crashes. I need to be able to work with my old X5 (and occasionally, older) files. Is there a fix for this, or do I need to go scrap X6, and put X5 on my new machine?

View 6 Replies View RelatedA colleague of mine has problems when moving a textbox.She grab the textbox with the mouse, the complete work area change to a white background, so she doesn't see, where she has to drop the mouse cursor. After she drop the mouse cursor, the background change to the graphic again.
The hardware she uses is new and included the following components:HP Z200 i7-870 Workstation2,93 GHz, 6 GB 1333MHz DDR3, ATI FirePro V3800 with 512MB RAM, Windows7 Prof 64bit
With X4 I can right click a piece of text - with pick tool - and drag the selected text to an open area and the text is duplicated. With X5 this does not work - text is locked. The only way to duplicate is to copy / paste. Is there a setting that needs to be reset.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Corel 13 to my new computer, but it isn't recognizing the text in any of the files from my previous computer. Granted, the files on my previous computer were in an older version of Corel, but that shouldn't be an issue. I can add text to a new document, but even when importing a pdf, the text in the file disappears.
If you drag to select the area where the text should be, it recognizes that something is there. However, you can't see anything or do anything with it. I ran the repair on the installation CD, but I am still having the same problem.

I have a list - want to apply bullets, but cannot.
I've tried changing fonts, but bullets are greyed out in the paragraph section of text properties box for every font I choose. I've selected many fonts ... still ... no bullets.

I want to paste text (numbers) into the command line as I am drawing a line.
In AutoCad 2011/2012 if I paste (CTRL+V), then the numbers in the clipboard will be pasted into the command line and all I have to do is push enter.
In AutoCad 2014 if I paste (CTRL+V), AutoCad will paste the clipboard contents as an mtext object into the drawing.
How do I change the behavior of AutoCad so that I can use "CTRL+V" in the command line?
For clarification these are the exact steps I am trying to do:
1. {type L}
2. {click a point in the drawing}
3. {type CTRL+V} // paste a number as a distance into command line
4. {type ENTER}
I know I can right click the command line and select paste. This option is unnacceptable for my use. I want to be able to CTRL+V text into the command line.
How can I apply edited paragraph style to all at once.
I mean I have created new paragraph style with 10 pt Arial font and applied to different paragraph. And now I have edited the same paragraph style with 16 pt. Arial font, now how it will applied at once to all old style that I have used.
Words in a paragraph are splitting into different lines when it gets to the end of a line. How do I stop words from splitting into different lines in a paragraph.
