Why is it that when I open a drawing in TrueView it changes all my DWG icons into TrueView icons, and TrueView becomes the default program to open DWG files? How do I stop this from happening?
I'm running AutoCad LT 2009 and I need to be able to open drawings that were created in newer versions of AutoCad, so I'm trying to download TrueView. I go through all the steps, try to open a drawing and it directs me to download TrueView again. What do I do now?
I wonder if its possible to Xref in DWG TrueView 2012, right now I can only open either the "Building drawing" or the "Plumber drawing" and I need to see them both.
Can I Xref or is it any other way to solve my problem?
I created a DWG with Civil 3D. When it is viewed with LT or TrueView the contours for the surface disappears. I checked the detail switch on the VIEW tab but it did not seem to make any difference.
What Acad2010 or Trueview 2012 uses to create it's bacth PDF's? We got a new plotter last week and it seems to have corrupted that driver somehow. We are no longer able to create batch PDF in either Acad or Trueview. We using both Win XP and Win 7 machines. I don't know if the plotter had anything to do with this problem it just seem that this happend the same time as we installed the plotter. I can use a 3rd party PDF maker to make individual PDF but this takes time, the batch PDF is much more useful for me. I'm hoping I can get the generic PDF driver that autocad uses and reinstall that, but I don't know what it is or where I can find it.
I've installed my new windows CS6, all my .psd files have the 'generic icons' windows give to files they don't recognize. Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.
i get the following error msg "an autodesk product failed to send the required value for UPITOKEN. the error report sent to autodesk may be incomplete." and then another one also come "FATAL ERROR: unhandled e06d7363h exception at 75b19617h". then finally close.
where various icons on your palettes just disappear? the function is still there, but no image. attached is an example where the "Add", "Delete" etc icons have gone. other times the on/off freeze/thaw images will be gone.
I have been leaving custom icons in the Support directory where the associated cui is located and that has been working ok. Now if I try to assign another icon by picking the ellipses button it pushes me to this directory:
C:Use im.turnerAppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 2013 - EnglishR19.0enuSupportIcons, which is empty.
Now if I edit an icon there is no Save As option and if I hit Save there is no option to browse to a directory, only change the file name. So I hit save and go back to the default directory (above) but the directory is still empty and the original icon in the Support directory is unchanged.
Out of the blue my screen started flashing menu icons after every command except Save. I had two small files open, went from paper space to model space on one of them and BAM! flashing icons and prolonged lag time while the file went from model to paper space. Then after that every command (except Save) evoked some serious lag time and flashing icons.
I just downloaded AutoCAD lite 2012 to demo it. Right now all the menus are pretty big and you need to hover over them to see even more big buttons like the "line" command.
Is there a way to get it to view differently, more like the guys screen on the tutorial link here: [URL] ........
I like the option of seeing all of those buttons on the screen at once.
"Why do my icons on a toolbar display as a cloud with a question mark " I have lost my Civil 3d icons whilst playing with new custom toolbars. The acad ones are there not lost!
1 Sure but where are the Autocad icons actually hidden?
2 Why did they get lost in the first place ? The cui does some odd things at times.
3 What is the right spot to add the path changing file support paths makes no difference. (includes reboots)
Other machines here are fine don't want the same problem with theirs when we add the new toolbars.
As an extra we run new workspaces to avoid this problem but the original Civil 3D workspace is corrupt maybe.
When in the layer properties manager....then in the layer filter properties....when i click into the 2nd tab "status" it shows me 4 icons when using the drop down icon..what are each of these representing
I lost a toolbar containing several very useful construction icons. The buttons created red horizontal, vertical, cross hairs and other useful options with the click of a button.
I'm working with some clients and I, myself, am rather new to AutoCAD. We are using AutoCAD LT 2010. I found, in this forum, how to export custom settings. We exported settings and then imported them on a new computer. All seemed well with one minor exception:
He mentioned that every thing exported as far as window settings go, but within each applet (I'm not sure what it's called when you replace the ribbon with drawing applets), some of the icons weren't in the location where he had it. He reported that his copy icon was in the location that his "Cut" icon was.
I just installed the 2011 update (recomended). Now, on restart, all my butto icons are gone! The buttons are still active but I can't see them. They highlight when I roll over but the icon doesn't show up.
With 2011 I have noticed my DWG icons in explorer are displaying the generic icon and not the new DWG icon.I have gone through the Folder options and File Types tab to try to reassign it but no luck.
