Why is it that when I open a drawing in TrueView it changes all my DWG icons into TrueView icons, and TrueView becomes the default program to open DWG files? How do I stop this from happening?
I'm running AutoCad LT 2009 and I need to be able to open drawings that were created in newer versions of AutoCad, so I'm trying to download TrueView. I go through all the steps, try to open a drawing and it directs me to download TrueView again. What do I do now?
I wonder if its possible to Xref in DWG TrueView 2012, right now I can only open either the "Building drawing" or the "Plumber drawing" and I need to see them both.
Can I Xref or is it any other way to solve my problem?
Can autocad automatically create a sequentially numbered array. I do concert seating and am looking to create an array of seats and have them be numbered automatically as I create the array.
It seems like this should be easy but it's not. I have a block with multiple components. I want them to array sequentially as I drag the grip. First one component, then the next, then the next. What I get is all 3 at once when I drag the grip far enough. I tried 3 separate linear parameters with their grips stacked but that didnt work either. What I have attached is a very simplified version of what I want, but I think once I get the concept it will be easy to elaborate on.
I created a DWG with Civil 3D. When it is viewed with LT or TrueView the contours for the surface disappears. I checked the detail switch on the VIEW tab but it did not seem to make any difference.
What Acad2010 or Trueview 2012 uses to create it's bacth PDF's? Â We got a new plotter last week and it seems to have corrupted that driver somehow. Â We are no longer able to create batch PDF in either Acad or Trueview. Â We using both Win XP and Win 7 machines. Â I don't know if the plotter had anything to do with this problem it just seem that this happend the same time as we installed the plotter. Â I can use a 3rd party PDF maker to make individual PDF but this takes time, the batch PDF is much more useful for me. Â I'm hoping I can get the generic PDF driver that autocad uses and reinstall that, but I don't know what it is or where I can find it.
have a lisp routine that will ask you the starting elevation and the elevation interval, then allows you start selecting polylines and it assigns them new elevations based on your choices?
It seems years ago I had a routine that did this and it also changed the color of the polyline so you could tell which ones you had already changed, but I can't seem to find it now.
There has been dicussion in the past about renaming and renumbering images ,sometimes other software was recommended.
Any way to do this in windows from XP and beyond. It may be a bit basic, but if you keep the same name for a batch of images you can easily number them sequentially, I have numbered over 900 images in a few seconds.
In XP- Select all the images you want numbered. Right click the 1st one and select rename Name the image and type a number you wish to start with in brackets ( )immediately after the nameClick on the 1st image and all your images will be numbered sequentially. If you want to use more images later in this way you can follow on with the next number to have a continuing sequence.
I'm scanning in page by page, without taking the photos out. (it's quick and dirty but works best for what I'm doing) Now I have templates set up in .psd for the differenrt sized pics, mostly 3x3 or 3.5 x 5, that I pull the scans into and touch up. Now I want to create an action that saves the photos as a .jpg, but when I do this it overwrites the previous .jpg. And I can't stop the action during the "save as" process. Any ideas what I can do here to streamline the process? I've tried searching, but couldn't find anyrthing specific to my perdicament.
I'm using Windows 7x64 and have recently installed Lightroom 4.3. Initially worked well but after installing Photoshop CS6 I can no longer see images. The metadata and histograms are there but no images. What I see is a set of gray frames, one for each image in the imported group. Each frame is numbered sequentially, and the total gray frames is the same as the number of images in the imported file. Â Using the "Develop" mode I still see only a gray box, though the histogram is live, and as I move the cursor across the gray box it shows R, G, and B characteristics as if the photograph is visible.
I need a way to take images of a preset size and slice them up into seperate little image squares which are each saved with a sequential number starting with the first square (top left) but in a grid type pattern - so the first square would be saved as '1-1.jpg' and the one to the right of it would be '1-2.jpg' and the one to the right of that would be '1-3.jpg' etc. Then the next row would be like '2-1.jpg', '2-2.jpg', 2-3.jpg' etc. and so on.
Is there anyone who would possibly be able to help write an action to do this automatically?
I know it's a large request but I'm not so good with complex actions and don't know where to begin with this.
Please help if you can. The final 'diced' images are to be used in a website which is a college project of mine, I'm fine with building the website, I'm just not so good with actions and really don't want to have to slice a number images individually (I'm currently estimating there will be a large number of little squares per image - something in the region 300 or so...). If anyone can help I'll work out the exact figures and dimensions so it can be done.
i get the following error msg "an autodesk product failed to send the required value for UPITOKEN. the error report sent to autodesk may be incomplete." and then another one also come "FATAL ERROR: unhandled e06d7363h exception at 75b19617h". then finally close.
I am using Autocad 2012. When I plot I go to change my plot styles, all I see is STB files. Where did the CTB files go? They are on my computer but not showing up in my style list.
DWG to PDF is not printing certain files correctly. It appears to only happen with the dots hatch pattern and the Dots linetype with a 0.0003" lineweight in the CTB file. The lines with the issue have color and pline width (zero). Print preview show, plotting to a printer, and using adobe show the lineweight correctly but using DWG to PDF does not.Â
I have a Makerbot Replicator 3d printer for my class. I am having issues when I save my drawing as an stl file bring it up in the Makerware software it decreases the size and I can't get things to scale. I have been in contact with Makerbot for several months and their response is now: "We actually may have had a bit of a breakthrough! Apparently there's something off about the way that Inventor exports files to .stl, and there may be a bug in our software when scaling. Whenever exporting to .stl, especially in metric apparently, Inventor makes the object 10% of the size. To correct for this, can you try scaling your model by 1000%, then exporting to .stl and bringing it into MakerWare? Send me a copy of the .stl either way, and let me know how it goes!" and "The issue is not something we can fix because it's not an issue in MakerWare.
I don't need the capability to print directly to a plotter, but I need to set up a dummy plotter to generate plt files that will be changed to tif files with our Kip. Any plotter driver that works for this situation? Every one I have tried has generated a plt file, but the Kip would not convert it or open it.
how to print two separate A2 drawings side-by-side in A1 paper space on an HP plotter? I'm assuming that this would be handled by a third party print management software or something along these line. I'm looking for any solution to save on paper!
Why files received from different architects affect how my plot style prints? I'm using my set plotstyle but plots are almost too light to read. Layers are set to default line weights in both files. This printing problem happens in both model and paper space. Using AutoCAD 2012 standard.Â
We just upgraded our old DJ4000 to a T2300 and are having a devil of a time getting the PC3 files to work. We have about 40 CAD users and the PC3s are all on a shared network location.
[URL]
We tried using the 5500 and 4020 drivers but they did not work for us.
It looks like we are now faced with deploying 30+Â PC3s to 40+ computers. What a HUGE pain in the you-know-what that will be. All of the PMP will have to be repathed.
What was HP thinking? That the T2300 -- or, if the above-referenced thread is accurate, ANY of their plotters -- are not suitable for use in companies that have more than one or two users?
In the process of releasing 2013 to the office. We have about 60 machines being loaded, varying from 64-bit Win 7, 32-bit Win 7 and 32-bit Win XP. I have gone through and created new PC3 files for our two KIP printers (3000 & 7000 series). I added one custom page size to each to create a PMP that goes along with them. These files have been placed onto a network folder for all users to access. This is where my confusion begins.
When other users go to utilize these files it is giving an error stating that "the plotter configuration cannot be found, driver cannot be found, device cannot be found, yada yada. The none has been substituted."
So we began to look at the PC3 files and see what the issues are. When the same file on the Server is copied down to a local machine it changes back to a KIP10 driver down from a KIP11 driver on the network. Make Sense?
In order to fix I began running the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on the local machine. Created a new PC3 wiih a different name and went back into the program. Now the PC3's that did not work before WORK.
In short, since the 2013 version has a new file format do we have to run the "Add-A-Plotter Wizard" on all local machines before the standard PC3 file will work effectively? Or does having 2011 version still on the machines have an effect on these files?

I use Sheet Set Manager to create and output sheets. Typically I will setup the pages to 24x36 and set to output to our HP.
If I want to output to 11x17 pdf, I use a page setup override and it works fine.
What I would like to be able to do is add a watermark -- using transparent text -- that says "Not to Scale" across the print when I use the page setup override.
If I import an Arcview shape file into Autocad Map, why can't i plot it out from Paper Space??? I can plot out shape file data in Model Space but not Paper Space. The data is mapped to a layer, and it can be viewed in "Print Preview" but nothing comes out when i plot from paper space.
Working on Macintoch with Lightroom 4.2 Â Before we were able to print a pdf file on Mac, even if we weren't connected to the Raw files. It was enought to click on "brouillon" in french, what is draft I think in english I think. But now with lightroom 4, I can't do it anymore. Is it another way to do it ? Â It was really usefull while you were traveling, you didn't have to plug you hard drive, and it was plenty enough to show to my client. And also it was way faster, and I didn't have to travel with all my HD files.
I'm using Photoshop CS4 and I have 2 files that refuse to print. Every time I try to print them I get the error "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer." Photoshop WILL print other files or new files no problem but will always produce this error when I try to print these 2 files. Â It is not a problem with printer drivers, or a problem with which printer is set as default as evident but the fact that every other program on the computer can print just fine and photoshop itself has no problem printing other pictures.
How can I print mulitple different .ai files onto one page in Illustrator CS6? I have all of the files organized by Arrange Documents>Tile All in Grid and I would like to print the files in this format so that they can all be seen at once when printed out onto one page. Â Some background is that I have 16 different cad drawings that I have converted and edited in illustrator. I'd like to basically make a contact sheet with all 16 drawings so that they can be reviewed on one sheet of paper after printing. But each drawing is in it's own unique file, and I have not figured out how to put them all onto one page for printing.
