AutoCAD 2010 :: DWG Icons In Explorer Missing
Sep 29, 2010With 2011 I have noticed my DWG icons in explorer are displaying the generic icon and not the new DWG icon.I have gone through the Folder options and File Types tab to try to reassign it but no luck.

May 23, 2013Back in the day, there was an application that showed the drawing version # in the icon in windows explorer. That was good for then, because of the lack of object data in many of the vertices. The link I have isn't valid anymore and it didn't work in Win7.
What I'd like to have is something that will show the different Acad versions related to the icon using the product ID, for example:
ACAD-5xxx = 2007
ACAD-6xxx = 2008
ACAD-7xxx = 2009
ACAD-8xxx = 2010
ACAD-9xxx = 2011
then in 2012 they changed to Axxx
2013 = Bxxx (???) I dont' have 2013 loaded
2014 = Dxxx (what happened to Cxxx?)
With the lack of backward compatibility between versions for objects (and I totally get that), it would be nice to be able to tell by an icon which version was used to create the drawing. I know the version information is stored in the header, which can be read, I'm just not a programmer.
Photoshop :: Cannot Save PSD Explorer Icons / Thumbnails - Video?
Jun 1, 2013At some time in the past when I saved a psd file I would have an icon or thumbnail in explorer. No it doesn't save those thumbs. Actually it saves them but they appear to be corrupt.
I'm running win7 and I have a dll (don't remember which one) that allows for the preview thumb in explorer so I know it's an issue with cs5.

Oct 19, 2011How to view psp images in Windows Explorer (I have Windows 7 - 64 bit)? When I am in PSP X3 I open my files by going to "file" then "open". I get the standard psp icon instead of the actual pic view. PSD and PNG files show up, PSP images do not.
I do not like using the pic display at the bottom of my screen. I want the largest workspace possible.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Extra Large Icons In Explorer
Dec 4, 2012I installed X6 tonight and I'm now having trouble with my Extra Large Icons in Windows Explorer. When I switch to extra large icons the first few show up correctly (CDR, JPG, GIF, etc.) but most of the rest of the GIFs and JPGs show as Corel icons. I can refresh, reload, and they still stay Corel icons. The only way to get the preview thumbnails again is to switch back to large or medium icons and then refresh. But if I switch back to extra large icons I get the same thing again. What's particularly odd is that all the Corel file formats preview correctly as extra large icons, but only a few of the GIFs and JPGs do. I have already removed and reinstalled X6 and the Corel Windows Shell Extension.
If you run the Icon size slider up, the preview thumbnails for the GIFs and JPGs change to Corel Photopaint icons as soon as you go above large icon size.
I have Win7 Pro running on an Intel i7-3820 and have updated Corel to the X6.2.
Also, I do not have any icon viewer applications installed.
I browsed around a bit and didn't see this particular problem listed.

Jan 31, 2013When I search in content explorer it work just fine but when I click on a drawing to open it acts like its opening but right at the end it says Error Decrypting Data and wont open I've tried to look for a solution and I cant find anything.

Aug 23, 2012I have been leaving custom icons in the Support directory where the associated cui is located and that has been working ok. Now if I try to assign another icon by picking the ellipses button it pushes me to this directory:
C:Use im.turnerAppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 2013 - EnglishR19.0enuSupportIcons, which is empty.
Now if I edit an icon there is no Save As option and if I hit Save there is no option to browse to a directory, only change the file name. So I hit save and go back to the default directory (above) but the directory is still empty and the original icon in the Support directory is unchanged.
Where the heck did the icon "Save" at?

Apr 23, 2012Sometimes on my "Draw" toolbars, all of my icons disappear! Passing the cursor over it, than they reappear! Made same thing in ACAD 2012.
My video card is a NVIDIA Quadro 600 with the latest driver installed.

Oct 3, 2012I have an addin which has an icon for a button. In Inventor 2012 it displays fine. In Inventor 2013 the icon appears to be enlarged by about 4x, and only the top left corner of the icon is visible. The api clearly states that Inventor will scale the image to size.
This is the C# code I'm using to load the icon. The icon is in my resources file.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Tool Palettes - Images / Icons Missing With Annotative Blocks
Aug 20, 2013I just made myself another toolpalette, and the icons/images don't show up.Well, none of the icons/images show up except for the Junction Box (J with a circle around it.)I found that the Junction Box block is the only one that is NOT Annotative. All the other ones are ANNOTATIVE (as they should be.)
In Windows Explorer, it looks like images were saved for each new block I inserted into the toolpalette, but the images are blank except for the Junction Box of course. Is there a special way you have to put your Annotative blocks into a toolpalette so the icon/image shows up??

AutoCAD Inventor :: Cannot Open From Explorer
Dec 22, 2013When I try to open ANY inventor file from Windows Explorer I get this error
I don't know why, the initial inventor splash/opening screen come up as normal, Inventor 2013 is the associated program by default, so I stuck as to why this is happening now when it never used to. I've not made any changes to my system, not installed any new software etc.

Feb 20, 2013I have is that after so long thumbnails in windows explorer stop loading just shows generic Autodesk image(.ipt, .iam, .stp, .idw, .dwg ect.). Causing me to be unsure on which file I'm actually opening. Causing me to have to restart the computer.
What is weird is you are able to see the thumbnails in the thumbnail of the parent folder but when you open the folder they aren't shown. If you open up properties it shows a thumbnail.
Closing and opening a new window doesn't fix this error.This was an issue I had experienced with 2011 and am still experiencing with 2013.
AutoCad :: DWT Edit From Contextual Explorer Menu
Jul 30, 2012I would like to edit the dwt file extension in explorer to add an option in the contextual menu' to open it in acad for editing it. At the moment I can only open it, but it actually opens a copy.So I would like two options:
OPEN a copy (default behaviour)
EDIT the template (optional)
I hate the need to open a copy and then go through all the process of "save a copy as dwt".I have win7 - LibreOffice has similar options for their templates (new/open).
AutoCad :: Thumbnail Preview Not Showing In Explorer?
Dec 18, 2012When using the WBLOCK command, no thumbnail preview is being saved with the block for previewing in Windows Explorer. I have check the RASTERPREVIEW system variable is set to 1, but this makes no difference.
When saving files normally I do not have a problem.

I would like to publish many of our commonly used custom parts for our engineers to search on without having to buy a seat of Inventor for each of them. Jan 20, 2012I navigate (all functions, pan zoom, etc) with my space explorer in autocad architecture 2011 any autocad command will be cancelled by the 3d mouse. when use the 3d mouse, the cursor in autocad changes to the default windows cursor display. I have an updated version of autocad 2011 with all of the service packages and hotfixes, the space explorer software driver is up to date too, windows 7 ultimate x64 is updated too.command line example:
Command: _line Specify first point: "I move the 3d mouse" Specify next point or [Undo]: *Cancel*
Command: *Cancel*
I tried reinstalling both autocad and 3dconnexion, restored the default settings of the 3d mouse. I also shutdown the logitech mouse software to make sure it was not interfering with anything. I also double checked that it was not a display refresh issue with the graphics card or the display settings for autocad, I also played with the profiles in the 3dx sofware.
I installed Aucad Architecture 2012 and same freaking issue. The only way to solve it "half way" (so not a real solution) is to change the visual style to other than 2d wireframe, but when doing so, whatever object you are manipulating seems to freeze on the screen and doesn't refresh untill you move the mouse (normal one), basicaly the manipulated object doesn't zoom with the rest of the objects in the screen.
This is very anoying since the purpose of these stuff is to create an uninterrupted worflow not the complete oposite!! this mouse is worth around 200-300 dolars and Autodesk took responsability for it's drivers!! and it doesn't work!! it's faster to work with your regular mouse. Also you should develop the driver version for the Autocad Mac version.

Jun 19, 2012I need my colleagues and customers to view some of the models I create, and be able to manipulate them.
No matter how much I ask, they ar not going to download a viewer - they just throw up their hands and say "can't, shan't won't". So I end up having to take numerous screen dumps and print, which in reality are much less useful.
I have seen components by some of our suppliers (though I cannot find an example now) online and viewed in Internet Explorer where I can view, manipulate, and even section their 3d models without needing to worry about viewers.
How this can be achieved with Inventor Assemblies?
