How to view psp images in Windows Explorer (I have Windows 7 - 64 bit)? When I am in PSP X3 I open my files by going to "file" then "open". I get the standard psp icon instead of the actual pic view. PSD and PNG files show up, PSP images do not.
I do not like using the pic display at the bottom of my screen. I want the largest workspace possible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Vista 64 Viewing PSP files with explorer has proven to be a pain. I have installed Fast Picture Viewer and the PSP file handler and none do anything. I have folder options setup correctly. With X2 I had no problems but starting with X4 and now X5 I have to guess what the file is by the name. I only save PSP files when in layers. PSD don't show either when in layers but do show as a single file (not PSP though). There must be some way to see a thumbnail. I can't even see them from within PSPX5 itself while in Edit mode until I open it up. Why does Corel not make at Codex so we can view their own product properly. Also I know I can browse using the Manage section of PSP but prefer not too as it has alway been too buggy, I only use the edit section.

I usually edit in Full Editor mode, but normally there is an Explorer-like ribbon running across the bottom, much like the one in Express Lab. I opened PSP ProX3 today and it was gone. I'm guessing it disappeared when i did some editing for my daughter in a non-standard (for me) mode.
How do I get it back? I swear I have hunted and even RTFM'd.
Back in the day, there was an application that showed the drawing version # in the icon in windows explorer. That was good for then, because of the lack of object data in many of the vertices. The link I have isn't valid anymore and it didn't work in Win7.
What I'd like to have is something that will show the different Acad versions related to the icon using the product ID, for example:
ACAD-5xxx = 2007
ACAD-6xxx = 2008
ACAD-7xxx = 2009
ACAD-8xxx = 2010
ACAD-9xxx = 2011
then in 2012 they changed to Axxx
2013 = Bxxx (???) I dont' have 2013 loaded
2014 = Dxxx (what happened to Cxxx?)
With the lack of backward compatibility between versions for objects (and I totally get that), it would be nice to be able to tell by an icon which version was used to create the drawing. I know the version information is stored in the header, which can be read, I'm just not a programmer.
I'm using Photoshop CS4 on Windows XP. I've been editing the Title and Description fields in Photoshop (and yes, I've been saving things). When I try to view the metadata in Photoshop at a later point I can see everything just fine. When I try to view the metadata by going in to windows explorer and looking at the properties, those fields just show up as blank.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried to create some keywords for photos, and save them into oringinal photo files by selecting photos in library then choose "Metadata>Save metadata to file" from right-click menu.
But, when I right-click original photo files in windows explorer and choose "Content>Details", these metadata set in lightroom doesn't appear.
is there any way to view it without any 3rd software but windows explorer?
I recently installed Paintshop Pro X4 and have found I can no longer see the thumbnail images of photo's in windows file explorer. There just now appears lots of paintshop camera icons instead in all the directories. How do I get the images to appear again in Explorer as I use this all the time for searching and moving files???
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy prior editing program was Serif Photoplus x5 and ACDSee Pro 5 for management.I purchased PSPx4 to see if I could get photo editing and photo management in one program .I've been able to figure most things out but I have a problem with the following:
1. Tags: my keywords are embedded in the file but when I looks at PBP tags they only show a couple of photos. I did notice if I selected one of the photos it was added to the tag list. I even tried selecting more files (at one time) but no luck. So, my questions is, how do I update PSP tags?
2. explorer view: is it possible to select the parent folder and view the contents of the children folders?
3. in ACDSee you can select the parent folder and it give you a count of the keywords (beach = 50, lake = 30, etc.,) in all folders. Is this possible in PSPx4?
sometimes I need to do simple thing like crop or resize group of images. I use XnView mostly. But it is possible to somehow run without run PXP x2/x5 my scripts from shell for example? If possible from explorer context menu will be perfect.
Are recorded scripts executed through Python or some DLL?
I recently purchased this computer. It works great. Want to take it on our RV trips. problem is I installed my Paintshop X3. Went in w/o a hitch. Now if I clickon a desktop icon ,which replaces a stock folder,The X3 will open up. Also if I open any of my picture folders it will do the same thing. I do not have this problem on my 32 bit desktop. One other point. I uninstalled (Complete), reinstalled>> Then uninstalled , and installed the X2 Same results . I have looked at all of the preferance settings, sure there must be one to solve this problem
View 7 Replies View Relatedis there a way to have icons in the menus as with previous versions? the space seems to be there and the icons exist. but the option appears to have gone. it was always in in the customise menu dialogue. but appears to have gone.
i found this really useful because it enabled me to scan the menus quickly.
I was messing around in PSP X4 and somehow managed to mess up my toolbars. Specifically, the STANDARD toolbar now has no images. I've uploaded a screen capture to show you what that looks like.

I just installed PSP X5 Ultimate (full install). After it completed it installed an update. All appeared to go fine. I opened the program and went to EDIT. I am familiar with PSP as I have used a number versions up to X2. The first thing I tried to do was crop a photo. The crop tool buttons are not correct. The "Apply", "Crop as new image" and so on under the crop area window are not correct. I see a square of colors. I see the same thing on the main tool bar for the "Copy Special" function and the "Share" button. There could be more that I have not discovered yet. I rebooted and tried again, but get the same thing. Also, the button icons look different each time I load.
View 14 Replies View RelatedShortly after I loaded PSP X5 on my computer, the picture icons on the buttons in the docking workspace changed and I don't know why. These are the icons at the top and bottom of the Docking area where I work with Layers and also have several other items docked.
I am using PSP X5 version 15.2.0.12
Across the top are the icons for " Edit Selection, Show/Hide Layer effects, Link/Unlink, Lock/Unlock, and Layer Styles".

In my version of X6 32-bit, there is a problem with the icons in Print Layout, they're not the normal icons, but one's used when tying as script to an icon.
I have re-set X6, using the Shift key method, but the problem is still there. I can use the menus and print, but those icons don't belong there.
I'm trying to customize the Layer Palette with icons that I mostly use but it does not work. It have been possible in all previous versions. Is it just me or is it a bug or something new that we have to live with?

In the old versions, it was easier to find my way around if i had to change version and the list might not have been in the same order, or if i was making a tutorial and someone had a PSP in a different language; i could just display the icon instead of the name for the other person to be able to identify which tool i was talking about. But in later versions, they are gone. How do i get them back?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy floating toolbars have the icons across in a horizontal straight line, but every time I open PSPX4 they are stacked 2 rows or more. I have to readjust them every time. It remembers where I had them placed but doesn't remember they are horizontal and opens them with the icons vertical.This is with SP1 installed. I don't know if it did that before SP1. Don't have this problem with X3.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I use the cropping tool the floating tool bar has blank icons on it. Sometimes there may be lines in them like they tried to load but most of the time they are just completely white.
They still work and everything but you have to run your mouse over them and wait for the box to pop-up thats says what it is to see which one you need.
I installed PSP X4 today on a new PC with Windows 7 and noticed that it has no Animation Shop. Can I install Animation Shop to this machine? Will it work without PSP 9 or does it need certain dlls from PSP 9 ? I really want to be able to use Animation Shop again.

Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.

I'm running win7 and I have a dll (don't remember which one) that allows for the preview thumb in explorer so I know it's an issue with cs5.
We can preview the DWF files in Windows Explorer with Windows XP but cannot seem to be able to with Windows 7 64.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed X6 tonight and I'm now having trouble with my Extra Large Icons in Windows Explorer. When I switch to extra large icons the first few show up correctly (CDR, JPG, GIF, etc.) but most of the rest of the GIFs and JPGs show as Corel icons. I can refresh, reload, and they still stay Corel icons. The only way to get the preview thumbnails again is to switch back to large or medium icons and then refresh. But if I switch back to extra large icons I get the same thing again. What's particularly odd is that all the Corel file formats preview correctly as extra large icons, but only a few of the GIFs and JPGs do. I have already removed and reinstalled X6 and the Corel Windows Shell Extension.
If you run the Icon size slider up, the preview thumbnails for the GIFs and JPGs change to Corel Photopaint icons as soon as you go above large icon size.
I have Win7 Pro running on an Intel i7-3820 and have updated Corel to the X6.2.
Also, I do not have any icon viewer applications installed.
I browsed around a bit and didn't see this particular problem listed.
I have successfully downloaded my Paintshop Pro 9 into my new computer with Windows 8 operating system. I am now trying to upload my Paint Shop Pro X2 upgrade but am getting error "The system cannot read from specified device"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed the Developer Preview of Windows 8. I already had PSP x4 installed in Windows 7 and it worked fine. Once I tried launching it after the upgrade if failed to load. I completely uninstalled PSP x4 and reinstalled. Still will not launch.
