My floating toolbars have the icons across in a horizontal straight line, but every time I open PSPX4 they are stacked 2 rows or more. I have to readjust them every time. It remembers where I had them placed but doesn't remember they are horizontal and opens them with the icons vertical.This is with SP1 installed. I don't know if it did that before SP1. Don't have this problem with X3.

For some reason when I use the cropping tool the floating tool bar has blank icons on it. Sometimes there may be lines in them like they tried to load but most of the time they are just completely white.
They still work and everything but you have to run your mouse over them and wait for the box to pop-up thats says what it is to see which one you need.
I've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).
In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.
The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course).
I have around 20 differently sized layers that I am trying to arrange into a straight horizontal line. I want them next to each other so that one layer's right edge is the same as the next layer's left edge. I also want them all on the bottom edge of the image. I've tried the Align tool and the Align Visible Layers option under Image, and neither have worked.

And that is how to make a series of lines on the image that are all perfectly horizontal or perfectly verticle. This will be part of a chart and the lines will be dividers. So the chart will have basically 21 rectangles with 3 rectangles across and 7 rectangles down.
So, I KNOW how to use the straight line tool to make the vertical and horizontal lines but I don't know how to keep the lines perfectly vertical and horizontal and parallel with each other!

If I use the eraser tool to remove parts of a straight horizontal line, the resulting lines are not 180°.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop 7 & do a lot of cleanup of bitmap/tiff images, such a logos & symbols that need cleaning up around the edges etc. Holding the shift down while drawing with a brush in eraser, etc. mode creates a straight horizontal line & that makes cleaning a horizontal edge easy & quick.
Is there any keystroke combinations that will draw a perfectly straight vertical line?
All of a sudden my X4 Tool Options started floating rather than the usual way to see and use them.
How do I anchor the Tool Options.
I've set up a couple toolbars with extensive customized buttons that make workflow easier.. though I cannot find a way to add SPACERS in between clusters of similar tool buttons. BTW do you have multiple custom toolbars defined for various tasks?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dual monitor setup and I maximize acad2011 on monitor 2 and have my toolbars on monitor 1.
I like to have my toolbars floating, but justified to the side with the 'gap' between the montiors so the tool bars fly out and I can see my email or reference docs or whatever on monitor 1 also. Sadly every time I close and re-open acad my toolbars re-justify to the center of monitor 1. I've tried unlocking and locking but that doesn't work. I am using the 'better', errr, excuse me, 'classic' workspace.
I was thinking my menus and toolbars customizations were storage in:
C:Users...DocumentsCorel PaintShop Pro14.0
I had copied all content of this folder to restore after have formatted my computer. But menus and toolbars weren't restored when I replace all the content of this folder.
So, I lost all my customizations. Where they are storage? What should be the folder to be backed up in order to recovery menus and toolbars customizations in new PSP installs?
About 10-12 years ago, I had a simple version of Corel Draw or some similar name. Then I got involved with Adobe products. But it is nearly impossible to draw simple straight lines with Adobe! The Corel program I used to have enabled a straight line to be drawn by clicking on one spot, then holding some button down (don't remember which) and clicking on another spot. Viola!
So my question is: "Is it simple to draw straight lines in Paint Shop Pro? If not, what program do I need to purchase.
Is it possible to add more than 4 nodes onto a straight line? I find that with what I'm doing, the lines can sometimes be too angular in areas.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased this computer. It works great. Want to take it on our RV trips. problem is I installed my Paintshop X3. Went in w/o a hitch. Now if I clickon a desktop icon ,which replaces a stock folder,The X3 will open up. Also if I open any of my picture folders it will do the same thing. I do not have this problem on my 32 bit desktop. One other point. I uninstalled (Complete), reinstalled>> Then uninstalled , and installed the X2 Same results . I have looked at all of the preferance settings, sure there must be one to solve this problem

i found this really useful because it enabled me to scan the menus quickly.
Ok I am attempting to add a floating curve from the end of a simple straight alignment. No matter what I do the curve is created from the left end of the alignment. I first created an alignment from objects. I tried reversing the alignment and it still comes from the same point. I tried creating an alignment and drawing the objects using a fixed line. Still from the same point. How do you get it to create the floating curve from the opposite end?

I just installed PSP X5 Ultimate (full install). After it completed it installed an update. All appeared to go fine. I opened the program and went to EDIT. I am familiar with PSP as I have used a number versions up to X2. The first thing I tried to do was crop a photo. The crop tool buttons are not correct. The "Apply", "Crop as new image" and so on under the crop area window are not correct. I see a square of colors. I see the same thing on the main tool bar for the "Copy Special" function and the "Share" button. There could be more that I have not discovered yet. I rebooted and tried again, but get the same thing. Also, the button icons look different each time I load.
View 14 Replies View RelatedShortly after I loaded PSP X5 on my computer, the picture icons on the buttons in the docking workspace changed and I don't know why. These are the icons at the top and bottom of the Docking area where I work with Layers and also have several other items docked.
I am using PSP X5 version 15.2.0.12
Across the top are the icons for " Edit Selection, Show/Hide Layer effects, Link/Unlink, Lock/Unlock, and Layer Styles".

There used to be an option called 'Switch to horizontal ribbon' in the right click menu when having the entire ribbon as a floating window. Looks like they removed it, so now I'm stuck with a vertical floating ribbon (?).
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my version of X6 32-bit, there is a problem with the icons in Print Layout, they're not the normal icons, but one's used when tying as script to an icon.
I have re-set X6, using the Shift key method, but the problem is still there. I can use the menus and print, but those icons don't belong there.
I'm trying to customize the Layer Palette with icons that I mostly use but it does not work. It have been possible in all previous versions. Is it just me or is it a bug or something new that we have to live with?

In the old versions, it was easier to find my way around if i had to change version and the list might not have been in the same order, or if i was making a tutorial and someone had a PSP in a different language; i could just display the icon instead of the name for the other person to be able to identify which tool i was talking about. But in later versions, they are gone. How do i get them back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow to view psp images in Windows Explorer (I have Windows 7 - 64 bit)? When I am in PSP X3 I open my files by going to "file" then "open". I get the standard psp icon instead of the actual pic view. PSD and PNG files show up, PSP images do not.
I do not like using the pic display at the bottom of my screen. I want the largest workspace possible.
In PSP X5 I have colored icons on each drop down menu(same as X4)..Have looked for a way(as in x4, x5)to show image and text in the menu but there is no way to do it.

But when I try to assign them, they appear larger and I can't fit them into the space allotted for an icon; in other words, they get clipped.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if it is normal for the lines to be jagged. Vertical and horizontal lines are straight but the angular ones are jagged, Stair step looking whatever you would call it. It makes the stuff I draw look like (edited) .Especially the low angle stuff.
