i have a drawing file which is corrupted with unknown reason , windows explorer is displaying file preview but anyway autocad is crashing when i try to open this file .recover and open file in another version solutions are not working..how can ı open my corrupted file?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2008 to 2001. Now when opening a file from windows explorer (desktop vs the AutoCAD browser) and AutoCAD is not running. AutoCAD will startup and open a new drawing as well as bring up the dialog box for finding a file to open, which I cancel, THEN open the drawing that I have selected. I have not seen this before and am wondering what variable or option is causing to happen. I am also seeing two icons for the same drawing file in the Windows task bar.

After making a video file, I found that the file details that are usually visible within Windows Explorer were not present. For example, when making a video using older versions of VideoStudio Pro, Windows Explorer would display the file size, video length, frame width and height, frame rate, data rate, etc., but now with Pro X6 none of these details can be found. When right-clicking on the file in Windows Explorer to check the properties tab, all the fields reserved for these details are blank.
Is there a setting within Pro X6 that I am overlooking that enables the saving of these details again?
I want to know if it's possible in CS3 to drag an image file from Windows Explorer into an already open file in PS. Right now when I drag over, it opens that file. I want to have it where the image is inserted as a new layer into the existing open file. is that possible?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen using the WBLOCK command, no thumbnail preview is being saved with the block for previewing in Windows Explorer. I have check the RASTERPREVIEW system variable is set to 1, but this makes no difference.
When saving files normally I do not have a problem.
When I preview an image in windows, the properties panel says my file is only 958KB with dimensions 2400 x 2369. But when I open the file in photoshop (I have CS6) , it says my file is over 16MB with the same dimensions.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have is that after so long thumbnails in windows explorer stop loading just shows generic Autodesk image(.ipt, .iam, .stp, .idw, .dwg ect.). Causing me to be unsure on which file I'm actually opening. Causing me to have to restart the computer.
What is weird is you are able to see the thumbnails in the thumbnail of the parent folder but when you open the folder they aren't shown. If you open up properties it shows a thumbnail.
Closing and opening a new window doesn't fix this error.This was an issue I had experienced with 2011 and am still experiencing with 2013.
restore the the ability of Photoshop to open with a preview on windows machines. That is; a single click on a file from within Photoshop gives a small preview image to tell you what it is you are opening. This is crucial to professional photographers in the industry working quickly with lots of images as I do in the medical/scientific photography field.
Every other version of Photoshop has had this feature and I can tell you a lot of power users like myself are not using CS6 just because a single click doesn't preview what you are opening. My company just spent $10,000 upgrading six machines and no-one is using CS6 for work - they are sticking with CS5. CS6 is only good for 'playing around' with photos, if production is key, then to save time, we need to see what we are opening on a single click - it's a no brainer! Check the forums to see this that is true, and if you are reading this and agree with me, write and tell adobe to fix this - pronto!
How would I go about editing drawing properties (Title, Author & custom props) without using AutoCAD. I need to replicate within VB.NET the windows explorer RMB > Properties capability.
I have heard mention of DWGProps.dll but cannot find it anywhere.
Any way to display the inventor iproperties in windows explorer or in the inventor open dialogue box? This would be useful for us in a lot of situations. If there isn't an inventor trick, maybe a windows trick?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe would like to enforce that our designers save all Inventor files by the Part number only. This is not a problem when using Vault to open files as the interface can be customized to show the iProperty description field. The problem comes in for users who open files from the local drive before they have been added to Vault. There is no way for them to see the iProperty descrition for the files except if they hover over each file and wait for the tooltip to show which then shows a number of iProperties.
I found that I can add a Windows description column but by default it is blank. Is there anyway to get the iProperty description to synchronize with the windows description column?
When I search in content explorer it work just fine but when I click on a drawing to open it acts like its opening but right at the end it says Error Decrypting Data and wont open I've tried to look for a solution and I cant find anything.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have multiple computers in my department that just received multiple Microsoft updates, a service pack update to Windows 7 and an upgrade to Internet Explorer 9. When they restarted and browsed in Windows explorer, all the Autodesk icons have been replaced by a generic icon. We tried to reset by re-establshing the file association and that did not work.
How do we rebuild the Autodesk icon cache on these machines?
Back in the day, there was an application that showed the drawing version # in the icon in windows explorer. That was good for then, because of the lack of object data in many of the vertices. The link I have isn't valid anymore and it didn't work in Win7.
What I'd like to have is something that will show the different Acad versions related to the icon using the product ID, for example:
ACAD-5xxx = 2007
ACAD-6xxx = 2008
ACAD-7xxx = 2009
ACAD-8xxx = 2010
ACAD-9xxx = 2011
then in 2012 they changed to Axxx
2013 = Bxxx (???) I dont' have 2013 loaded
2014 = Dxxx (what happened to Cxxx?)
With the lack of backward compatibility between versions for objects (and I totally get that), it would be nice to be able to tell by an icon which version was used to create the drawing. I know the version information is stored in the header, which can be read, I'm just not a programmer.
Goal: using the native windows explorer, Open the folder containing the the multitude of drawings from different vendors and customers, usually 30 -40 .dwg files.
Highlight all the files, Right click print.behind the scenes without any further clicking or involvement from the user autocad plots the extents of model space of all the drawings to a designated plotter fit to 11x17 sheets.

When I click on File>Open The dialog box no longer has a thumnail preview. Only a small grey box hovering on the right that says "Initial View" with a check box. I have attached a snapshot of my Autocad File> open dialog box so you can see what I'm getting on my end.
If I browse for files in windows explorer and change view option to thumbnail I can see the thumbnails just fine.
I've tried everything but I cannot get back my File> Open thumbnail preview.
In Tools> Options I have the thumbnail preview settings all set to save thumbnail preview image. Nothing has changed that I know if for the thumbnail preview to go away.
It's really slowing me down not being able to have thumbnail preview in the file> open dialog box.
I have a problem with previewing of new files I made in INV2013. Old files are OK. I can not find the cause...I also found, that some new files are correct and other incorrect, all made in INV 2013.
There are two types of error:
1) when I pick the file I want to open, in left lower corner - thumbnail window- is displayed text:"preview not available"
2) when I pick the file I want to open, the left lower corner - thumbnail window- is black
In iProperties panel I have checked "Save preview picture"
There are four of us in our office who all installed Autodesk Product Design Suite Premium 2013. One of us cannot see thumbnail previews in the file open dialog box or in the preview area of Windows explorer. She's using Windows 7, 64-bit.
