Using Inventor 2010
I just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7.
Not the ipt, idw, and iam file icons are difficult to distinguish between when your in a hurry.
There used to be more contrast and color between the different file types
Is there a setting for this somewhere in Inventor or Windows for this?

how to change the theme colours in Elements 6. I mean the colours of the workspaces, menus etc. Also, how to increase size or contrast of the text/icons.

THey all started out the same, but I edited them and then did a save as, but the file icon image didn't update. How can I fix this? I tried resaving the files and copying the files, but it didn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just completed a fresh install of PDS on a computer and all seemed to go well but when i pick on any of the desktop icons, the little donut spins for about 1-2 seconds and then...nothing.
Everything was working last week and then AM stopped working but Inventor was okay. I uninstalled and reinstalled only AutoCAD and it didn't work and now neither did Inventor. So i uninstalled all Autodesk stuff and reinstalled all PDS apps and now nothing works.
The individual (environment) icons, i.e.; iam, ipt, idw, ipn doesn't show up anymore with my Inventor 2010. When I open Inventor, there is only one common icon shows (I) for iam, ipt, idw etc. How can I make the individual icon visible gain?

I mean, while to those who write them, there's nothing wrong (really) with a command button titled Invoke_This_Fuction or InvokeFunction, it looks quite odd to everyone else.
If the only way is via add-in, that's fine (though a friendly display name should be an option). Just trying to find out before I spend a boatload of time only to figure out you can't
Also, do all add-ins 'have' to be installed? Or is there a way you can just drop a file in the correct path and it'll appear on next running of Inventor?
I have installed PS CS6 and updated it to 7.2. I can see my images under Bridge file icons, but under PS file icons, the images are generic. What do I need to do in Photoshop? What does Bridge have that PS does not?

I have an addin which has an icon for a button. In Inventor 2012 it displays fine. In Inventor 2013 the icon appears to be enlarged by about 4x, and only the top left corner of the icon is visible. The api clearly states that Inventor will scale the image to size.
This is the C# code I'm using to load the icon. The icon is in my resources file.

I've installed my new windows CS6, all my .psd files have the 'generic icons' windows give to files they don't recognize. Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave installed inventor 2014 as part of the Product Design Suite Premium 2014 & have a few issues.
1). In sketch mode when drawing a line/circle etc there is usually a green dot in the centre of the crosshair, this is not vissible at all making it difficult (if not impossible) to see where the cursor is snapping to. The same happens in the drawing mode when dimensioning. I've checked the options but can't see anything obvious.
2). The icons in the 'Navigation Bar' are invisible, I've checked the opacity levels & irrespective of the setting they are still invisible. You can hover the mouse pointer over where they should be & they work, they're just not visible.
Also, the close, minimise & restore down icons in the top right corner are also invisible. Similar to the navigation bar issue, they work, they're just invisible.
Have tried uninstall & reinstall, & have downloaded & installed the update, but this doesn't solve these issues.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have been trying to create mac desktop icons using the "Photoshop PICT Resource File" and it works all right, but i lose any transparency one the image is saved.
I have tried using various icon programs (IconBuilder, etc) but they never seem to work for me.
Since i am on a Mac, standerd icon programs just dont cut it, because im looking to create high-quality icons like those found on Pixel Girl (a great resource for both Mac + Windows Icons).
I am far from a beginner, but i can't seem to find any tutuorials that apply to this topic.
I seem to have lost my icons for Illustrator CS2 and InDesign CS2 files. The files show as a standard white "page" icon, instead of the program icon. Since I often have multiple Adobe file formats in one folder, it makes it difficult to distinguish which ones are Illustrator vs. InDesign. Oddly enough, Photoshop files and GoLive site files show their icons for files.
I read elsewhere online that this could be caused by a cleaning utility program such as CCleaner when "{GUID} folders are deleted from C:WindowsInstaller." However, I can't find the answer as to how to FIX it.
I have tried using Windows>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a program to check that Illustrator and InDesign are set as defaults to open the files. I found that the programs were set to shortcuts within the Adobe folder. I fixed that by deleting the shortcut and putting the actual program link as the source to open the program. (Actual program .exe file was located within Adobe Illustrator> Support Files>Contents>Windows.)
Also, I have the Adobe CS2 Suite installed under Program Files (x86).
When exporting DNG files as JPG the file icon doesn't show a complete picture. Perhaps 2 out of 25 files will be affected.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 in Windows 7 64 (bit) - I've successfully used File Types Manager (freeware) to change file type icons (since the Windows file type editing has been removed). My problem is that JPEG, PNG, & GIF change in lockstep - (like you would expect all of a similar type - ex. JPG, JPEG, etc. to do). BMP and TIFF are not affected. Is it a Windows or Photoshop matter? (This was not a problem in Windows XP and CS.) I would just like to have the correct icon (provided in the Photoshop.exe file) associated with the various file types.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running PS CS6 on a new 27"imac. When saving documents in CS6, the majority of times no icon is saved only the file name when viewed from the finder. Around 10% of the documents saved will have an icon, the remainder will not. This is across the board with all file types. If I open up a document through CS6 I can see the file icon in the CS6 as I search, it's just through the finder that I can't.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I edited the attribute of a block, just when I tried to fill in a new value in the "Value" column after thosed named "Tag", "Prompt", it was always a pain for me to find out on which row the new value was maintained, because the color contrast between the rows was too poor. See attached picture for more details.

when you draw on a black background with white, it comes out black ink on white paper.
is there any way to automatically adjust the contrast of lines with the screen background?
so if i have a dark grey bacground and use a lighter grey line, it is still distiinctive on the white paper?
I was wondering if there was an option to set Inventor to display the full file path for the current file open ? At present I am only seeing a short description of the name of the active file - I wish to see it's full file path similar to what AutoCAD displays.

is possible to retrieve the information of the reference in the iam file without open the file in session ? Opening with notepad the iam file, at the end of file, the references is contains in the planar text.
Is possible to retrieve documentation for this request ?
I'm trying to update a part with different colors for various features. My color styles are not available in this file. I can export them from another file, then use the import function to bring it over, but there has to be a way to force this file to find the entire "default" color file.

Does Autodesk 360 cloud storage work in any way shape or form similar to a Vault whereby users can check out, lock, and then check in designs? Can Vault be used in conjunction with Autodesk 360, or does Autodesk 360 eliminate or replace the need for Vault?
What's the best way for individuals working at multiple sites to work without overwriting each others' data or having save collisions?
I'm using the file dialog snippet as the foundation for a save as dialog box for saving a new copy of my template assembly to a project folder. Is there a way to disable the ability to click on a file in the window which puts that filename in the input box? The assembly file name is standardized and pre-"calculated" by my code and its a decent hassle if you accidentally click another file because the user would either have to rewrite the file name by hand, or cancel out of the dialog box and re-navigate to the project folder.
