The individual (environment) icons, i.e.; iam, ipt, idw, ipn doesn't show up anymore with my Inventor 2010. When I open Inventor, there is only one common icon shows (I) for iam, ipt, idw etc. How can I make the individual icon visible gain?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIsn't there a way to show your environment map directly on your model? It's pretty tough to show a chrome-like material if it just shows up a solid color in the viewport.
I did some searches, but must be searching for the wrong things because the only thing I could find was how to show the environment in the Background of the viewport, but nothing about on the model/material.
I have a hdri image in the environment map slot that I want to use for illumination and reflection purposes but I don't want it to show in the actual render, is there a way to do this? I've tried adding the hdri to a skylight but it doesn't give the reflections. I'm using mental ray by the way I know in vray you can use a map for overall reflections and one for overall GI is there a similar way for Mental Ray?hide in actual render?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to show an individual stud kicker down a corridor. The kicker needs to kick at a 45 degree angle from the front of a soffit to the wall. The width of the soffit is variable. The kicker length needs to chang and get longer along a 45 dgree angle.
I want to be able to 1) set the soffit width or 2) set the soffit width with a type parameter.
I have a reference locked to the back side of the kicker. Attached a parameter dimension
When you grip that reference line to the back it will extend the kicker along the plane the way I want. However, when I go to insert the kicker, and I change the dimension in the properties window, nothing happens. It just is inserted in the size I created.
That's ok. So I was going to create 1'-0" increment sized kickers. Assigning a soffit depth for each one. However than it gives me a constraint error.
I'm trying to hide all items in a document (and store each items original visibility state), iterate user pre-selected items and perform an export for each item in selection (I've got this part covered), and finally restore the visibility state of each item again (here's where the storing of original visibility state is needed).
I've found that I can iterate all items in the document using app.activeDocument.pageItems[i] where i is the page item identified by the i-th index in the pageItems collection.
What is not clear, however, is how to get the visibility state of this page item. Indeed, there is a property visbilityVariable associated with page items, but when I try to "inspect" its content using an alert message, I get "undefined".
Are there better ways to iterate all items in a document? Ideally, I'd like to access all items regardless of wether they're path items, group items, text frame items or what have you. I need this collection to read/write the visibility state of each individual item.
When opening an assembly document via the API (inventorApplication.Documents.Open("path-to-document")), the browser pane and ribbon look like no document has been opened, even though the active environment (inventorApplication.UserInterfaceManager.ActiveEnvironment.DisplayName) is "Assembly".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from cs5 to cs6, I have downloaded upgrades for photoshop, bridge, camera raw, and adobe dng converter.
My problem is that the raw dng, and raf raw files from my fuji x-e1 camera are showing up in bridge as icons only, and not as thumbnails. How do I get the files to show as thumbnails. if I double click they will open in camera raw and i can see the pic there.
I have an assembly which is made with a sub assembly. The sub assembly has iLogic code that both resizes it's parts and suppresses parts that arn't needed after a change in length.

My problem is that I want to rotate the part so that a face that was once along the XZ plane will now be in the XY plane. Is there anyway to rotate it like this? I would like to do this so that when I bring it into Mastercam, I don't have to rotate it each time.

I am trying to use a Windows environment variable to point to my root directory where the projects are stored. When I type %MYINVPROJECTROOT%/newproject/... into the path of a new project, it seems Inventor is unable to resolve the path.
We use SVN to collaborate, hence, instead of forcing everybody to the same folder structure, we keep everything in SVN and people just need to set an env var to point to the respective folders where they checked out their working copy. This is especially useful when working with branches, etc. All other engineering tools seem fine with this (MATLAB, Labview, Maple, ...) only Inventor seems to fall behind.
In the Inventor 2012 drawing environment when multiple objects were present I would pause the curser and use the wheel on the mouse to select the object and click the green check mark to dimension a part.
In Inventor 2013 the objects will scroll using the wheel but the green check mark don't show up. How can I select the correct object I want to dimension to?Has the behavior of the select other function changed in Invnetor 2013 or is this a bug?

Where can I find sheet metal.ipt template for Inventor LT 2012 ?
I seem to be failing to get "off the ground" here ... The "Sheet Metal" tab at top will not appear. Also, the "sheet metal.ipt" template is not in my files. Should I do a complete deinstall/reinstall? This is my first (or should I say, zeroth?) attempt at sheet metal, so I seem to be crawling on all 4's.
I tried to read an environment with iLogic and to combine it with an external rule name and to pass the whole path over to iLogicVB.RunExternalRule.

Why is access to the Content Center only available in the Assembly Environment?

Where is the setting to control the size of dims in the IPT sketch environment. The arrow sizes are OK, but the dims are so small they are unreadable to the point of having to double click on the dim to get the actual value.

I think that something is not the way it is suppose to be at my ribbon I have a Inventor Studio icon but by defaults is not active (it's grayed out) so in order to turn it on I have to go to add ins and turn Inventor Studio off and than on again and in that way I am able to activate the Inventor Studio button but after that all the buttons in the Rendering Studio tab are inactive so I cannot use them. And I cannot figure out where is the problem. Is it because I am using the student version of the software and it has some kind of limitations on the rendering engine, or it is some kind of malfunctioning of my installation. Everything else is working normally I can modell I can do a rey tracing viewport renders but I cannot run the studio environment interface.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from ps elements 10 to 12 and have noticed that all of my albums from 10 have disappeared, but to the lower right of each photo thumbnail there is a red album icon, and if I hang my mouse over it, it tells me what album it is in, but the album isn't listed on the left of the screen. I really do not want to recreate these albums, as it would be almost impossible. I am dealing with over 2000 photos over several years (downloaded from discs from the last several years). I need to have these albums back to print, delete, edit, share.

It seems random; I've tried multiple times using different orders in which to choose the geometry. Sometimes certain geometry will project, sometimes not.

Possible to run all simulations in "stress analysis environment" by just one click?
I have a large model with three different loadcases (simulations). Each loadcase takes approx. 2-3 hours to calculate and I would like to run all of these overnight, but it does not seem to be possible.
Is there a way to switch off the animation when creating joints in the assembly environment.
