I am in the process of building new machine and have a pro seat that for some reason is not showing the standard IV Icons.I have already built this machine and authorized all the softwares so I do not want to go through rebuilding to fix something so small.how to make the system show the correct icons for all the IV file types.
View 5 RepliesI create Layout using Inventor, save the file into AUTOCAD DWG format,and then load it to AutoCad. After I open it, the predetermine dimensions (which I select to display the dimension in Inventor) are right. However, the dimension goes wrong if I do a new measurement on the Layout using Autocad. For example, 3 inch distance could be 0.212 in AutoCad (Note I just make up the number, I just want to show the problem is not inch to mm problem), .

Nearmap has provided an aerial image georeferenced in the same coord system as Google Earth (epsg:3785). I found a Map 3D coordinate system WGS84.PseudoMercator (epsg:3857) which on web forums is equivalent to epsg:3785. After loading the image into a dwg on the epsg:3857 coord system I then queried the image into a dwg file on an mga55 gda94 coord datum.
It rotated the image correctly but as we had survey located features in the drawing the image needed to be shifted a further 1.75 metres SW than the transformation that Map had performed.
My question is to confirm that the Map epsg:3857 is indeed the same as epsg:3785? Given I had to shift the image I suspect it isn't.
Nearmap have also suggested using an epsg:900913 coord datum but there isn't one in Map 3D.
Created some pulldowns and icons to go along with the new commands. Put the cui files on the server for everyone. Question is ... How/Can I make the icons go with them. Are they associated with the CUI automatically. Guy at work is running MEP and everyone else is running plan old cad. They are not showing up on his. Is there a way I can fix this?

But the custom iProperty is a Yes or No.Had no problem with this in Inventor 2011.
The individual (environment) icons, i.e.; iam, ipt, idw, ipn doesn't show up anymore with my Inventor 2010. When I open Inventor, there is only one common icon shows (I) for iam, ipt, idw etc. How can I make the individual icon visible gain?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been adopting a linetype scale system for CENTER & HIDDEN types that works perfect on one drawing but not in another.
Here it is:

CENTER lines are scale 0.1 (works fine in all drawings and in both 1:30 and 1:4 viewports)
HIDDEN lines are scale 0.3 (work in one drawing but failed in the second drawing in both 1:30 and 1:4 viewport)
Setting the HIDDEN lines to 10 works with most other drawing.
I want to know first of all why this setting of 0.1 CENTER and 0.3 HIDDEN works on one drawing and not on another one in spite of the general settings set alright.
I'd like to use an "NPT" Hole Dialog thread but it doesn't show up in the Thread type list.But it does show up in the Thread Dialog/Specifications Tab/ Thread type list so it's available.
I definitely have "NPT" in my Thread.xls & I have my Options/Files set to point to the correct Design Data folder.

I'm using a student version of AIP 2012 and am having a problem exporting to .STL file types.
When using a "Standard(mm).ipt" and designing the part in mm, upon export it shrinks the dimensions down.
For example, the width of my sketch is 193mm, upon inspection on a different computer with VCarve Pro and CUT3D were 19mm.
I don't want to dimension the parts as to make the problems in export to the right size because I think that defeats the universal aspects of autodesk.
I have a customer that is trying to export a file out as an STP file. When he brings up the Export or Save As dialog boxes none of the normal model file types are listed. I have had him do a Repair and a Reinstall of INV 2013 which did not fix the problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI finally gave in and applied the LT14 registry "fix" to correct the flashing icons, monster lags, etc...might of fixed those issues (not sure yet) but now when I tap the F8 key to toggle Ortho on/off it also toggles on the Grid (which I do not want). If I keep tapping the F8 key it cycles through turning Grid on/off and turning Ortho on/off.
F7 still works like it should, toggling the Grid on/off.
I have just noticed that on my standard toolbar, it seems that the icons have shifted and do not point to the correct command.
For Example, when I click on the "open" icon, the "new" command is executed (see the attached jpg. It is showing what text bubble comes up when I hover over the open icon).
Using Inventor 2010
I just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7.
Not the ipt, idw, and iam file icons are difficult to distinguish between when your in a hurry.
There used to be more contrast and color between the different file types
Is there a setting for this somewhere in Inventor or Windows for this?

I made a cylinder which is in the attachment. When I flat pattern produce its dxf file, I am not able to get correct geometries. When I zoom into the dxf file, I see that the inner hexagon and circles project irregular shapes and are not concentric.

My problem is that the raw dng, and raf raw files from my fuji x-e1 camera are showing up in bridge as icons only, and not as thumbnails. How do I get the files to show as thumbnails. if I double click they will open in camera raw and i can see the pic there.
Can IV be set up to show the file path to an open file in the IV window title bar (next to "Autodesk Inventor") like Autocad/MDT does?

We reinstalled Windows 7 64bit to Windows 7 32bit and now all previously created Corel Draw X5 files in Win 7 64bit did not show correct fonts in Win 7 32 bit. All fonts are installed.
