I made a cylinder which is in the attachment. When I flat pattern produce its dxf file, I am not able to get correct geometries. When I zoom into the dxf file, I see that the inner hexagon and circles project irregular shapes and are not concentric.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a "steelplt.png" file that Inventor tells me is not in the correct library path. The problem is that it is in the correct path as defined by the project file. I cannot check in dwg because the "steelplt.png is not in the correct library path".

I create Layout using Inventor, save the file into AUTOCAD DWG format,and then load it to AutoCad. After I open it, the predetermine dimensions (which I select to display the dimension in Inventor) are right. However, the dimension goes wrong if I do a new measurement on the Layout using Autocad. For example, 3 inch distance could be 0.212 in AutoCad (Note I just make up the number, I just want to show the problem is not inch to mm problem), .

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe measure tool is not giving me the correct measurement. For example, I offset a line 24' and when I go to double check the distance it is off by .03. That is starting on the original line and doing a perpendicular snap to the other line. So I thought, wait a minute that can't be right, so I drew a line between the two lines and did an inquiry and it gave me 24'.
I also did a dimension which also was correct. I also measured a 97' line and it was off by 3 feet. Never had issues with previous versions of Autocad as far as measuring.
Have an easy file open and am trying to save a copy with a new name and Inventor either does nothing or crashes. Original full path and file name contains 243 characters (counting from drive letter to extension) New one will have 247 characters.
This is supposedly within the path/file name character limits for windows 7, which according to the ms website is 260 minus one for the null character at the end making it 259. So I am over 10 characters shy of the limit dictated by the OS.
Is inventor placing a stricter limit on the number of characters in the full path/file name? If so, why?
Obviously, working up the tree and adjusting upper level folder names is not an option as that would break every link in every assembly at that level or lower.
I am facing an issue while opening a JT File in Inventor 2012. When I open the JT file I am unable to view the geometry.Since I cannot attach a JT file I am attaching a txt file converted from JT. The txt extension needs to be changed to .JT. What steps should I follow in order to view the JT file in Inventor?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of SAT files exported by my colleague. He is only familiar with and only works in AutoCAD 2008.
All I'm trying to do is convert them to IGES for our customer, but I can't even open them. I get the message "Unable to Read SAT File" in Inventor. I tried Fusion as well, it just crashes out after working for a few seconds. When I try to open the original dwg in AutoCAD 2013 I get a message that the file is corrupted and to run recovery on it. I tried doing so, but then the dwg comes in with no model geometry.
How to open these files or any other workflow? We're going to have serious issues down the road if we can't move data between AutoCAD and Inventor.
I have an IDW file of my assembly, which is bombing out during opening. II can create pack and go file and post it in your designated folder. File is large.

The goal is to offset this rectangle 1" to the inside of the original rectangle, then delete the original rectange.
How could I go about this in autolisp??
I know I could use basic commands to bring up the offset functions, but i'm not too sure how i could write autolisp to offset in the correct direction, and the correctly delete the larger rectangle without deleting the smaller one as well.
Maybe put them on different layers? How I could achieve this?
I am having trouble opening a step file. I actually opened it a couple of days ago fine but now when i try it tries to load for a few minutes then just crashes. I have tried other step files and they open fine.
The file is 260MB not sure if it will attach here.

I can't seem to figure out why I cannot manipulate this file. All tool bars are blacked out like it has the "read only" property. Which was first thing I checked to try to diagnose this issue. I've also tried save copy as, checking in & out of the Vault. Deleting local copies and opening from Vault. Even re-downloading the same file. Nothing seems to work. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or did whoever create this remove the write capability from it somehow. All I am trying to do is go into document settings and change the units from metric to standard.
It only happens with this one file so far. It is a STEP file. I open it in Inventor and then when I hit save it gives me an error. The system cannot find the path specified.

I have tried to save it on two different computers with two different projects and I get the same error. I have never ran into this problem before and I open and save STEP files often.
Using Inventor 2009. For some reason (all of a sudden) it will not open a step file. When I go to search for the file I would always use the file drop down an there would be a lengthy list of options. For some reason now it will only list the basic native formats... part, assembly etc. How I can get these back?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Inventor Professional 2012 Student Version, and I'm unable to create a new file, as the program crashes as I try to do so.
After starting Inventor, I select New than Standard.ipt. The file starts loading, the status of the loading process can be seen in the bottom left corner, than the "Open Documets in Session" counter in the bottom right corner changes from 0 to 1, as it should, I guess. And than, the program freezes. Sometimes, a message appears after several minutes that an error has occured, and that I should send an error report to Autodesk (which I did); but sometimes, no message appears at all, it simply crashes.
My computer specs are: Intel Core 2 @1,86 GHz, 2 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce 9800 GTX, 60 GB free space, Windows Vista (hotfix installed) Not a powerhouse, but I think it should be able to start a file properly I think, if I understand the system requirements correctly.
I am trying to download a file to new folder created in Autodesk 360 but this program responses in downloading some other compressed file as you can see on the video. The downloading of this not requested file lasts endless.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have multiple cylinders of increasing radius surrounding each over i.e first cylinder radius 0-5mm, 2nd 5-10m etc. (attached: cylinders.jpg). For the operand I'm using a solid cude - hollowed out in a particular shape i.e. using it like you would a physical mold.
Using ProBoolean Subtract I can successfully subtract the operand from one cylinder at a time, but not all the cylinders at once. I have up to 20 cylinders so it takes sometime to do individually (attached: subtract result).
If i 'Proboolean Merge' the cyclinders they become the one geometry and each cylinder looses its individual material.
How can I merge the cylinders such that I can perform the subtraction on them all in one go but they retain thier materials?
I can't get Inventor 2013 show a custom iproperty correct.My iLogic rule is this:
iProperties.Value("Custom", "myvol")=volume = iProperties.Volume
But the custom iProperty is a Yes or No.Had no problem with this in Inventor 2011.
I have been happily x-reffing for years but recently my x-refs will randomly disappear when I reload them. I have checked the file name seems to be the same the paths match where the file is (on a network drive if that matters.) I defenitely haven't deleted the x-ref on the model space.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with After Effects being unable to process image files in the correct order when making time-lapse videos.AE seems unable to identify the correct chronological order from the camera generated file names and the files need to be re-numbered with a number prefix.
However sometimes even after re-numbering AE still cannot order the files correctly and will generate a video with either individual or blocks of frames out of order.
I have another app (Video Velocity) that can also suffer exactly the same problem and which will often process a video with the exact same individual or blocks of frames out of order as AE.
However VV has options to order the files in various ways including ‘sort by file create date’ in which case the time-lapse video will be processed correctly. AE doesn’t seem to have this option? Or does it?
I have more than 50 geometries in my Gmask module, now I want to change all color to 0. Select all geometry and change the value doesn't work. I know I can always invert it in the next node, but I just wonder if there's any button that I missed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNearmap has provided an aerial image georeferenced in the same coord system as Google Earth (epsg:3785). I found a Map 3D coordinate system WGS84.PseudoMercator (epsg:3857) which on web forums is equivalent to epsg:3785. After loading the image into a dwg on the epsg:3857 coord system I then queried the image into a dwg file on an mga55 gda94 coord datum.
It rotated the image correctly but as we had survey located features in the drawing the image needed to be shifted a further 1.75 metres SW than the transformation that Map had performed.
My question is to confirm that the Map epsg:3857 is indeed the same as epsg:3785? Given I had to shift the image I suspect it isn't.
Nearmap have also suggested using an epsg:900913 coord datum but there isn't one in Map 3D.
What is the correct format for the .csv file to be imported into QTO manager?

correct font style from 1071 group code in style table of dxf file ? I am able to read the Font name and font file name from group 1000 and 3 respectively, but not able to get the font style: whether it is Regular, Bold, Italic etc.
I know i have to decode the long values in 1071 group codes like: 50331682, 50372882 etc. But dont know how to arrive the Regular, Bold, Italic etc Font Style. How to decode this value ?
The requirement of above information to me is that i am making a Graphics viewer for a specific purpose which reads and displays Graphical Entities from DXF (ascii) file.
With Inventor 2013 , user can view iProperties > Physical > Volume. After UPDATE is clicked, the application seems to recalucate and display mass information. How do I accomplish this task with API? I tried looping through all Occurrence objects, then access MassProperties.Volume, but the numbers do not match what I got from the Inventor application. The API seems to give me the Volume before the model construction (add parts, extrusions etc.) I need volumes after the final assembly.
