AutoCad 3D :: How To Make Cylinder To Show Like Without Crossline
Oct 7, 2013
how make a cylinder to show like without cross -line? See attachment for detail. I use AutoCAD 2012. I just need to show parallel line on the face of cylinder.
I drew a circle, then a polyline, then used sweep to make a sort of curved cylinder. It worked, but if you try to orbit at all, it gets extremely large (1000+ units 0_0) and turns into a straight cylinder. SD17B.dwg
How to make a Mitered Elbow from a cylinder this is driven by our Manufacture they would like to roll a sheet of metal and have a stitch cut within the rolled sheet so they can then just cut the additional amount of material between the stitches to get two identical mitered elbows from one piece of rolled sheet metal. Please see the attached doc. to see what I'm trying to do.

I am trying to make a cut on a 12" D cylinder at a 45 degree angle and i am having a little trouble. I have projected the shape onto the curve and sketched it. Now to finish the cut do i need to scuplt that path or how do I go about doing this.
I provided a screen print to try and and explain it a little batter. The half moon looking sketch is what i am tring to cut out of the cylinder. i have already projected the surface lines on the cylinder, but get stuck at this point
In inventor 2013 I want to extrude a horizontal circle on surface of a bigger vertical hollow cylinder. but what i did it enters into cylinder, and i only want to extrude it on external surface.
I'm modelling a pen, the problem is that its bottom is not flat, it is a section of a sphere, that goes inside the pen, I've tried soft selection, relax, but I can't make the shape, I could use booleans to cut the sphere out of the model, but I' avoiding booleans because they destroy the topology.
I was wondering if there is a way to make an exported PDF to show up clear on the compurter screen. I have changed the settings. I have found Bullzip PDF which expoerts out a great copy that a customer is able to look at without having to zoom in on the pdf. But the issue with this program is you can put them in one file but it is very tedious. Is there a way to make the AutoCAD pdf export any clearer without having to zoom in on the PDF to read for example dimensions.
I am trying to figure out how I can make a block that will show up in a dwf file but not in a pdf file. We issue dwf files with a "Not For Construction" note on them. To print our drawings in house we generate a pdf file. That note should not show up on our hard copies.
Created some pulldowns and icons to go along with the new commands. Put the cui files on the server for everyone. Question is ... How/Can I make the icons go with them. Are they associated with the CUI automatically. Guy at work is running MEP and everyone else is running plan old cad. They are not showing up on his. Is there a way I can fix this?
I inserted a scanned PDF xref and now I can't get it to plot in a viewport. Is there a way to make the inserted PDF opaque so that objects behind it don't show.
I have two PDFs slightly overlapped, and for some reason all of the areas that are transparent in the PDF print with grey outlines in a PDF, but not when sent to a hard copy printer.
Am trying to use millimeters for the first time. In model space, I set UNITS to millimeters. I draw a 5 unit line. No problem. I go to a layout tab and the viewport shows a 5" line, using a 1:1 scale. How do I make the viewport show a true 5mm line? If I choose inches as my units, the viewport scale is true 1:1 scale
there is already a style set from the file i'm using, when i am trying to get the measurements from the line to show up, they aren't doing so. how do i get it to show the lines when i modify the text and make it become visible?
I have a sketch on a component. That component is being used in an assembly. The assembly drawing (.idw) does not show the sketch on that component. I have made them visible on the component, but don't want it visible on the assembly model. (only the assembly drawing)
I have a block of a guide sign with directions and azimuth angles. I made arrows rotatable and angles were changing ok. But when I try to rotate an arrow into zero position, dimension shows 180. I need the dimension to show 0 degree. How can I do it?
And I can’t make angular dimension show degrees greater than 180 even if I specify vertex – after rotation angle shifts on the other side. I gave up and used back azimuth.
And I can't make an attachment: "The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file type"?
I am in the process of building new machine and have a pro seat that for some reason is not showing the standard IV Icons.I have already built this machine and authorized all the softwares so I do not want to go through rebuilding to fix something so small.how to make the system show the correct icons for all the IV file types.
I’m creating an assembly that makes an automatic berm when the cut height in not enough, so then I need a berm. The problem is for some reason I can’t get the link code for the assembly.
Is there an option in Revit Architecture to make the room tag show up on multi lines if its more than one word? This option is available on Autocad Architecture
After keywording, why do only some of my keywards show up on export? I know I can double click on the keyword list and choose include on export but how can I make that the default and why are some doing it and others don't?
If i open a new .psd file of any size and i have guide lock on, I get lock lines as i move and object twards the center of the canvas.
So how do you get ps to place guides (H&W) at the center of any doc.
The guides do not lock to a center when i pull them from the ruler. I can not figure out a way to make the ruler show zero at a center point and go =/- out from a zero center point like a number line either.
I'm wondering how in the attached image they were able to make the white leather background show through the red type? Is it just playing with the opacity? The type feels too opaque for that to be the only thing done.
While I still try, unsuccessfully, to get Gimp to run on my Mac...
I'm not a graphic artist, but I do have a task I would like to accomplish, so a couple of quick questions?
It's been over 10 years since I experimented with graphics software of any kind other than resize and/or convert from one format to another.
Scenario to illustrate my question:
I create a new graphic, of X by Y proportions. Create a black circle in the center of the graphic. Save graphic.
When I import the graphic into a document, web page, email composition window, etc., I would like only the black circle to display when the background is a color other than white. IOW, I want the unused/blank part of the graphic to be transparent.
I've found the online manual to be confusing to follow, since I can't easily "thumb" through the pages to see a picture of the effect I want to accomplish, and I'm not sure of the correct terminology.
I found a PDF manual for 2.4, are there instructions that cover this? I'm not really interested in printing it, or having it printed. If the manual were for 2.6, I would consider having it printed.
When I press File Open in my PSE 11 and look for Camera Raw files, they all show PSE 11 icon which makes it hard to find where is the image I am looking for? How do you make these CR2 ehumbnails to show the actual image?
