View 7 RepliesI drew a stone wall with the free hand tool and used a 1.0 line width, but since the ends of the lines are square I have jagged edges in places. I tried using the eraser but as soon as I let go of the mouse button what I erased pops back. I was thinking about converting to a bit map and smooth it out that way, but I need it as a vector file. So after I convert it and clean it up can I convert it back?

eg:i have a wall now drawn out, with all the details of the wall done, but i realise now have to make a window out of the wall i have hatched, but i do not want to create a rec and trim it. as i may have to change the window position again.
I want to create a 3d effect that looks like someone just ran through a wall leaving their body shape as a hole in the wall (like in old cartoons).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to know whether it is possible (and how) to trim a wall that was generated from mass face to a roof (also generated from face mass) or/and make a horizontal hole in it. The wall itself is not straight or curved, it shifts outwards from the building from base to top (still in an elevation it looks like rectangle).

i attach example of what i want assuming that i will often isolate wall layer in the project to facilitate the task.
I can make a curved wall, now I need to make a "cylinder" wall or a closed curved wall. If a curved wall can be closed I cannot figure it out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the RetainWallVertical subassembly with a created gutter subassembly attached to the wall and a DaylightGeneral subassembly attached to the gutter assembly. My cut slope parameter is set to hold at 1.5:1. I would like to use a target (feature line or alignment) to daylight to and have the wall height adjust accordingly. Problem, I am not able to use a target other than a surface for daylighting. I can use my existing ground surface, which I am daylighting too, but I can't adjust the target point.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to create a wall style that has 2 components, a framed wall and a brick veneer. What I would like to do is have this wall react a certain way when I insert a window. Basically, I don't want the window to cut into the brick veneer, only the framing.
I have attached my attempt so far, and I have not figured out how to get the window to only cut the framed portion.
I am having trouble cleaning up different wall types joining at or close to a corner. I tried to over ride the clean up radius....no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can convert a wall to a curtain wall but not a curtain wall to a wall. When converting a wall to a curtain wall I select wall in the design pallette right click apply to wall select the wall and it changes to a curtain wall. When I try converting a curtain wall to a wall I right click on curtain wall select apply properties to wall then go to select the curtain wall but I cannot select the curtain wall as a wall?
I simply want to convert an existing curtain wall to another wall type how is that done/
I'm having a problem here with hatching in AutoCAD 2000. The existing hatch patterns doesn't fulfill my needs and I need something more specific to hatch a cobble stone area. In my aCAD hatch patterns there's not a good hatch for it and I looked that I can do my own pattern using Notepad etc. but unfortunately I don't have a time to do that.
So, my question is: Is there any simple ways to create your own hatch patterns for example like in Microstation where it is very easy to do. There is an option that I can use cells (blocks in ACAD) as hatch patterns.
Or can I maybe download a custom *.pat file from somewhere and use it?
I'm trying to import a stone hatch pattern from the Internet but every time I try to import it into my hatch gallery it says error in pattern file. would like a couple different hatch patterns to show my customers rather than just brick.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm doing a 3D design of kerb stone which includes a pedestrian ramp.
Please refer to my picture.
The kerb stone I have issues with is the one I have provided dimensions for. From the right edge, the height of the stone is 225mm, then is slopes down to 110mm. But what I could acchive is that the right 100mm I have shown is meant to be 75mm which the back stays at 110mm. Is there a way I can achieve this?
I have a pline include some radius, and it has so many perpendicular line on it, so you can see it in attachment.
What i want to do is, write numbers for each perpendicular line 1,2,3..etc,
and write distance for each line (for each mile stone).
Any way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed. For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have to draw a bulkhead wall that connects to a full height wall and a gyp bd ceiling. This causes the entire end of the full height wall to skew in line with the butt joint above the ceiling level. I tried Wall Joins but all the options screw up the bottom half of the wall which needs to remain in line with the paired opposite. I also tried editing the sketch of the wall profile but Revit couldn't keep the elements joined. I tried trimming the two walls back together afterwards but the wall profile dominates and prevents a clean join above the ceiling.
Surely there's a way to have different kinds of joins at different heights?
I am trying to align the curtain wall with the edge of the concrete slab/face of wood framed wall (Core). I have tried to align and move however the whole wall moves as well as the edge of the slab. How I can move the Curtain wall leaving the other elements in place?
View 2 Replies View RelatedRefer to the attached file. How can I cut the RED part of the Wall 1 (W1) , where Wall 2 is sloped. I also want to cut a hole in wall 2 (W2) by the BLUE rectangle , but why I can't do that .
I also want to add a second floor to my project but I can only see the" Level" icon goes grey and I can't click it.
I got a picture of Mount Rushmore and I got 4 peoples faces.
Im trying to figure out the best way to make it look like those guys faces are on Mount Rushmore if I can.
I've added a stone material to my wall surface but when I hit render the edge looks very sharp. My question is how do I get the edge to look more rounded and give a more realistic look to the edge. I've attached my rendered image and below an image of what I would like it to be.

I am trying to make a floorplan of my house in Revit 2013, but I am having an issue when it comes to one wall in my house. I have an opening in the Master Bedroom that leads to the bathroom. This wall has a weird arched-like opening in it and I have no clue how to make this in Revit. I have attached a sketch.
Also, my exterior walls are 7' tall but the interior walls start at 7' and go up to 8' once in the middle of the house and reduce back to 7". How does one set that up in Revit?
EDIT: May have made the image too small to see, but the top is not arched, it is actually half of a decagon.
I have a question about wall profiles. I want to make a profile on a wall so I can make Zinc Panels on the wall that are 10" X 20". I've attached a picture of what I'm going for. I'd like it to have a 1/2" spacing between them and with a joint depth of 1" and I'd like to do this is the wall type so that I can use this wall in multiple places rather than having it model-in-place. Anyway I have made a profile that is 1" X 10" so that it can become my panel profile. But when I go to add it to the wall as a wall sweep as I have seen people do I get hung up on how to make it tile up the wall and also I don't understand how to make the profile so that it is 20" wide. I have a screen shot of where I'm editing this too. Below is the link of the site.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm designing a poster for a play and loved the stuff I saw in the stone wall forum and I'd like to do something like an ancient engraved stone (egyptian era ) You know, chiseled into the stone. I'll post what I have but I need some advice. Is there a way to get the engraving to show up better? I used the emboss mask but I'm just not satisfied. Any ideas?

Is there a way to treat a polymesh so that peices can break off of it in a controlled manner? I have tried pro-boolean but it is not to effective for multiple pieces.

I'm creating a level for a 3D game, and I'd like to use self-made textures for that one. A part of the level is supposed to take place on the outsides of an old castle. So I need a stone floor that looks old, a little dirty and bumpy.
I've folowed a few tutorials, and I made pretty nice things, but I can't seem to make the stones look more realistic. If you take this example (not created by me)
You'll see that the stones have very subtle cracks and scratches, and that it looks dirty (notice the greenish moss growing on it, darker patches here and there, etc)
I want stones that have similar effects. Can anyone tell me how to make that greenish moss effect and how to make outside stone floors look dirtier and older in general?
Setting the height of the masonry stone,
I couldn’t figure out how the height of the masonry stone can be set.
