Photoshop :: Dirty Stone Floor Texture

I'm creating a level for a 3D game, and I'd like to use self-made textures for that one. A part of the level is supposed to take place on the outsides of an old castle. So I need a stone floor that looks old, a little dirty and bumpy.

I've folowed a few tutorials, and I made pretty nice things, but I can't seem to make the stones look more realistic. If you take this example (not created by me)

You'll see that the stones have very subtle cracks and scratches, and that it looks dirty (notice the greenish moss growing on it, darker patches here and there, etc)

I want stones that have similar effects. Can anyone tell me how to make that greenish moss effect and how to make outside stone floors look dirtier and older in general?

AutoCad 3D :: Flattening Large 3D Model (hospital Ground Floor) To 2D Floor Plan Drawing

How to solve this problem of 'Flattening a large 3d model (hospital ground floor) to a 2d floor plan drawing'. The 3d model was made in Rhino and I saved it as a .dwg file because Rhino kept crashing with the command 'make 2d' (file too large maybe :/).

I don't know AutoCAD 3d so now, I'm trying to just change the line layers and eventually plot it all, but sometimes when I save the progress.... AutoCAD will delete sections of my work sometimes :/

Photoshop :: Shrinking Pictures Without Getting Lots Of Dirty Pixels

Every time I reduce the size (height & length) of a picture in Photoshop, I get a lot more pixels everywhere. And when I mean a lot, it's really so dirty that I cannot use it !

I don't understand because i've got some pictures from a Canon 40D that are really good quality, about 3800px X 2500px, it says its about 28cm large. If I reduce to 14cm, so half the size, I almost don't recognize the people on the picture if it's a group picture: a face is just composed of a few pixels. But when I send the pictures to a professional to print them on a 10cm postcard, it's perfect as the original, no "pixel-distortion".

I've tried many ways to shrink the picture: image size, free transform, I've tried tiff, jpeg... It's always the same. - Do you know a good way to shrink pictures without having the "pixelisation" problem, is there some settings to take care off ? Even maybe another software that would do the trick?

I become desperate because I'm working on a Dvd cover and the quality is so poor it would be better with my cellphone and it was shoot with a Canon 40D. I had this problem over and over with pictures from different origins and it's annoying when I have to work on small printout.

caused by a flood in my location (Bavaria/Germany), I have many damaged photos, which where stored in cellar, which was flooded. The photos are dirty and wet, but they can be cleaned and dehumidified. Many photos have now areas with ruined colors and "fire blizzards" on it. can I prepare damaged photos with Photoshop elements (8, 9 or 11) in that way, that I get back a good picture?

I have a script (modified version of export-selection) which when run makes the XCF look as if it has been saved. It's caught me a couple of times in that I have opened an XCF, made some edits, exported a selection, then clicked on the X to close GIMP, which it has happily done without complaint or prompt, presumably because the script has done the equivalent of saving the file and Gimp doesn't think anything needs saving again.

So, what's the simplest way in the script of:detecting and remembering in a variable that the XCF has been edited.if it has been edited, setting this "dirty" bit again after the rest of the script has run.1 is not essential, in that it would be OK if running the script always marked the file as needing saving, even if I hadn't edited it.

I'm designing a poster for a play and loved the stuff I saw in the stone wall forum and I'd like to do something like an ancient engraved stone (egyptian era ) You know, chiseled into the stone. I'll post what I have but I need some advice. Is there a way to get the engraving to show up better? I used the emboss mask but I'm just not satisfied. Any ideas?

What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. 1) There's a part of a Lensflare that travels across a characters face, which I need to remove. What is the best way to deal with this?

In our workflow we avoid rebuild all because it causes subassemblies to change, so we force an update by changing a parameter. I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?

I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

3ds Max Animation :: Animating Stone Being Chiseled?

Just trying to figure out the best way in animation a block of stone being chiseled away. So the stone would be chipping away piece by piece, one after another. Is there a way to treat a polymesh so that peices can break off of it in a controlled manner? I have tried pro-boolean but it is not to effective for multiple pieces.

AutoCad :: How To Hatch A Cobble Stone Area

I'm having a problem here with hatching in AutoCAD 2000. The existing hatch patterns doesn't fulfill my needs and I need something more specific to hatch a cobble stone area. In my aCAD hatch patterns there's not a good hatch for it and I looked that I can do my own pattern using Notepad etc. but unfortunately I don't have a time to do that.

So, my question is: Is there any simple ways to create your own hatch patterns for example like in Microstation where it is very easy to do. There is an option that I can use cells (blocks in ACAD) as hatch patterns.

Or can I maybe download a custom *.pat file from somewhere and use it?

I was waiting for a long time to get back to smoke since I left that FFI platform few years ago. Installed a demo to check the stability of the program on OSX. Have a problem with Stone+Wire. Smoke wont start - i get an error that he cant connect to stone. Checked Service Monitor - Stone+Wire is blinking red and green, the same as wiretap server. When I press restart, it goes green for a few seconds then goes back to red again.

My rig : 2 x 2.66 6-Core Xenon 17GB Ram os 10.6.8 and I'm setting up media storage to external G-Speed raid-5 that is connected by ESATA.

Im doing a 3D design of kerb stone which includes a pedestrian ramp.

Please refer to my picture.

The kerb stone I have issues with is the one I have provided dimensions for. From the right edge, the height of the stone is 225mm, then is slopes down to 110mm. But what I could acchive is that the right 100mm I have shown is meant to be 75mm which the back stays at 110mm. Is there a way I can achieve this?

I drew a stone wall with the free hand tool and used a 1.0 line width, but since the ends of the lines are square I have jagged edges in places. I tried using the eraser but as soon as I let go of the mouse button what I erased pops back. I was thinking about converting to a bit map and smooth it out that way, but I need it as a vector file. So after I convert it and clean it up can I convert it back?
