AutoCAD 2010 :: Close Button Disappears
Aug 31, 2011It has happened repeatedly, but on different occasions, that the close file X that should be in the top right position of the drawing has vanished. In other drawings that are open at the same time the X in present...Switching between drawings often brings the X back, but this is a weird bug that was not present before the 2012 release.

Aug 31, 2011I just loaded 2008. With cleanscreen on, the close "X" button is grayed out and inop. Also, the minimize button which is still operable does not fully minimize AutoCAD. How can I get these buttons operable in cleanscreen mode?

May 15, 2013I used to be able to open a drawing then close it right away, if it was not the drawing I was looking for, as long as I didn't pan, zoom, or do anything else. Almost a year ago I had a pop-up with-in AutoCAD that they reccommend I make this selection. I can't remember what it said really, it was something about a script or lisp loading at each drawing opening. Well, the result is the 'Drawing 1' does not disappear when I open another drawing and I would like that to stop. Also as I said it does it to every drawing. how to stop this? I tried the 'startup' command and that is not it. It is not a big thing just something I think is a waste of my time having to close that drawing each time I open AutoCAD. Not sure it matters but I am using AutoCAD 2012

Dec 2, 2011 I am very new to Flex/Flash/Illustrator. Using Illustrator CS5.1, Flex 3.6 SDK in Flash Builder 4.5, and Visual Studio 2010.I am developing a hybrid plugin for Adobe Illustrator. The plugin is C++ and interfaces with a hardware device and an UI extension built on Flex/Flash. It uses the CSXS library (version 2.0 based on Flex 3.4 SDK) to perform the communication between the extension and the plugin.
When the UI extension closes, I need the plugin to perform some tasks. These tasks might be related to Illustrator and/or to the device it communicates with. If the UI is closed using a button I add to the UI, the plugin runs the tasks as needed. If the UI is closed using the 'X' button in the corner of the window, I can not get the CSXS interface dispatch events to carry over to the plugin. This is the same dispatch events used from the UI button that I manually created and works fine.
I have tried capturing the exiting event from the NativeApplication and I do see myself entering the associated function to that capture. The dispatch events run but I do not enter the corresponding functions in the plugin.Below is one of several attempts at making this work (believe this was found on the Adobe forums):

Again, windowedapplication1_closingHandler will process but the dispatched event is not seen by my plugin (when the 'X' is clicked).Is there a way to disable/hide the 'X' in the corner of the window?Am I not properly "capturing" and "halting" the exit event?Should I move away from the CSXS Library and use sockets to perform this communication (though the closing of the extension may have the same affect on the socket communication)?I am currently working on Windows 7 64-bit (if that matters) but the plugin will have to work on Mac too.

Jun 5, 2013We have two computers running AutoCAD 2013 with Windows 7 64 bit and both crash regularly on save and close with about 2/3 of the drawing files. Typically it won't crash if I have only one drawing file open and then save and close. With more than one file open the system crashes regularly on both computers. Our service pack updates are current.

I am running into a problem, I like to use the annotative line type scale when I open the drawing i have to set the MSLTS to (0), and PSLTS to (0), LTS is already at (0). When I set these settings then save the drawing (saves as autocad 2013 version), close it down and re-open it the MSLTS and PSLTS settings reset back to (0). I've tried everything to get these settings to save but nothing works.
I want to keep these settings MSLTS (1), PSLTS (1), and LTS (1), after a save and re open they reset to (0)

I want to force the user to close the dwg without save if the reponse is 'No'. (The function have BindXref so the dwg do not save this). Sep 14, 2013I'm running Windows XP with Photoshop CS6. Since the "Save" button runs off the edge of my monitor, I can't click Save. I also can't move the dialogue box up far enough to get to it before running out of screen space. I tried just hitting the enter key, but nothing happened. I end up having to do a control-alt-delete to get out of Photoshop altogether.I've never had this problem before when I had CS2 or with the CS6 I have at work.Is there a way around this?

Mar 29, 2012I have some custom buttons on toolbars and menus which I have created bitmaps for. Ever since I've upgraded to ACAD 2011, the image on the button will not save. I alter the .cui file and I can make the button find it. All looks great, I hit apply and I get no errors. When I close out I am back to the clouded question mark. The button works, but I can't get this to save the image. Also, any time I go into the cui editor, it moves all of my docked and locked toolbars. It gets difficult to have to keep dragging them back. It also keeps bringing up the steering wheel, even though I don't use that.

Jan 7, 2013I often open multiple images to make several changes, then use Close All and when it prompts "Do you want to save changes to ... before closing?" I check off the box to "Apply to all" and say Yes. This saves lots of time when adjusting several multi-hundred MB images. Imagine my surprise today when it closed an image without saving! I had to repeat about 30 minutes of work as a result.
I thought I had somehow accidentally clicked "No" to saving, so I made sure to pay close attention the next few times I used Close All to save work. It worked fine until a moment ago when it did it again.

Nov 16, 2010In the save as dialog box, the button for creating a new folder will automatically create a named "new folder" at the bottom of the files list. It does not come up highlighted for naming but can be right-clicked, renamed. If your files list is long you won't even see the new folder created as it does not snap to the folder either. Conversely; I can still right-click, new, folder. This acts as expected which creates folder at the top of files list, highlighted for naming.

Now, suddenly, when I save a file of exit the program freezes for approx 35 seconds before finally closing. It makes no difference where I save the file (on my SSD C Drive or elsewhere). I have a 6 core, 32gb RAM etc and, as I was saying, it worked until today but suddenly this.

Mar 25, 2013Whenever I edit (a copy) of an image in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom 4.3 (Photo/Edit-In), after I save and close the image in CS6 the new psd image does not show in Lightroom. In order to see the image in Lightroom, I need to close Lightroom and then reopen Lightroom. It is almost like Lightroom needs to "refresh". Any solution that does not require me to close Lightroom? I have tried to use View/Sort by extension, filename, edit time, etc. with no effect.

Aug 17, 2011I have multiple files open in Corel every day, and then, at the end of the day I have to run to get my lift (never at the same time!) and I would love a way to save all my files with just a click of a button.
I know Dreamweaver had this function - not sure if it still has, but I would love for Corel to have this so I don't have to scroll through all my open files and save them! If the file is not named it can pop up the save as box as usual and leave it open till the next day.
I have to save before I go, as we have very unreliable power and the UPS systems are not reliable either.

Jan 2, 2013I am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

Aug 3, 2004I have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
