Apr 27, 2007When creating selection marquees, i.e. magnetic lasso, etc., I like to "set" lots of anchors close together when tracing along an object. I can't tell you how many times I've been 98% finished w/ a tedious selection, and accidentally closed a marquee because the system "thinks" I double-clicked. I've set my double-click speed in the windows control panel as fast as it will go, but this still happens. Del does not delete the last anchor point once the selection is finished. It cuts the selection out.
Ideally, I'd like a way to specify an altenative method in PS to finish selections, i.e. SHIFT CTR click, or ENTER, etc.
Does anyone know of there's some registry trick, etc. to accomplish this in Windows w/ CS2 or CS3.
As there a way to do this in PS prefs, etc, that I've totally missed. I just can't imagine I'm the only one having this annoying problem, but I can't find a single mention of it on google with what I felt were good search criteria.
At minimum, I'd be happy with a way to "Undo close selection", so I could resume setting anchors & finish it properly.

It does it's work as expected but once the actions are executed on all the images in a folder, I'd like to close the Photoshop as well, which looks tricky in Photoshop droplet. Is there anyway to close Photoshop application at last by action? Or is there any option so that droplet actions will be executed without opening the Photoshop window.

Dec 2, 2011 I am very new to Flex/Flash/Illustrator. Using Illustrator CS5.1, Flex 3.6 SDK in Flash Builder 4.5, and Visual Studio 2010.I am developing a hybrid plugin for Adobe Illustrator. The plugin is C++ and interfaces with a hardware device and an UI extension built on Flex/Flash. It uses the CSXS library (version 2.0 based on Flex 3.4 SDK) to perform the communication between the extension and the plugin.
When the UI extension closes, I need the plugin to perform some tasks. These tasks might be related to Illustrator and/or to the device it communicates with. If the UI is closed using a button I add to the UI, the plugin runs the tasks as needed. If the UI is closed using the 'X' button in the corner of the window, I can not get the CSXS interface dispatch events to carry over to the plugin. This is the same dispatch events used from the UI button that I manually created and works fine.
I have tried capturing the exiting event from the NativeApplication and I do see myself entering the associated function to that capture. The dispatch events run but I do not enter the corresponding functions in the plugin.Below is one of several attempts at making this work (believe this was found on the Adobe forums):

Again, windowedapplication1_closingHandler will process but the dispatched event is not seen by my plugin (when the 'X' is clicked).Is there a way to disable/hide the 'X' in the corner of the window?Am I not properly "capturing" and "halting" the exit event?Should I move away from the CSXS Library and use sockets to perform this communication (though the closing of the extension may have the same affect on the socket communication)?I am currently working on Windows 7 64-bit (if that matters) but the plugin will have to work on Mac too.

I use ESC many times and it happens too often when i press F1 instead of ESC and then the whole help opens (either from hard drive or it opens my internet browser and loads up a page), its really annoying.
I tried in. "Tools" > "Customize" > "Keyboard" and sorted it with "key" but there is no F1 there.Also i changed category to "help" and to my suprise there is not a single key assigned to any of help command.
Then why still F1 opens help and makes my life harder than its already?

In other drawings that are open at the same time the X in present...Switching between drawings often brings the X back, but this is a weird bug that was not present before the 2012 release.

Jan 5, 2014In LR 5.3 on a macbook pro I find that closing the window with the red X makes it impossible to recall the window from the icon in the dock. I can still go to LR menu but Quit is not an option and everything else is very limited. I am forced to Force Quit and I think this has hosed my catalog and library. There are many recent folders and images missing. I believe this is a flaw in LR 5.3. I never had this happen back to LR 2.

Dec 8, 2013I have recently downloaded Photoshop CC, Bridge and Lightroom 5.2 64 bit and am suffering with terrible performance issues. Initially both photoshop and lightroom worked really well but after only a couple of days and only a few hundred images being imported into lightroom I can no longer use lightroom.
The computer works fine prior to me opening lightroom, I can use all programs, open files and folders with no issue. However as soon as I have opened Lightroom then the whole system grinds to a hault. Lightroom is unresponsive and the rest of the system practically freezes, it took over an hour to open a folder containing roughly 100 JPEGs. When closing the laptop I have to manually close background programs because they are also unresponsive.
The computer has 6Gb RAM, 500GB HDD and a dual core processor so there is ample power to cope with this program on my system.
Lightroom :: How To Disable Auto Import
Feb 5, 2010I would like to disable auto import.
I uncheck "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected" under Edit - preferences - Import. However, it rechecks itself when I close lightroom down. Then whenever I put in a storage device -- a memory card, external hard drive, flash drive, etc -- Lightroom starts up and wants to import from that device.
How do I prevent this?

Oct 6, 2012I am getting an error message saying that the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) click ok to close application. Further research appears that the temp file location is not found for lightroom 3 64bit, and it wants me to find it or reinstall lightroom 3. The problem is that my software is 16hrs away from me and I forgot to register it when I got it for school in July 2010. I am not sure what I can do here, but I need it for school. Can I just download a trial version and until I can get this fixed
