In addition tp adobe photshop i have a program i installed with my Canon XTI Digital called EOS Digital. Anytime I try to Browse and attach a photo I have to go to my pictures and some time the pictures are not there (the ones I downloaded into Adobe from my camera). There is a way to transfer the Adobe photos to this program but I forget how I did it.
View 4 RepliesI have been storing my LR catalog and all photos on an external drive, which is now full. I got a new external hard drive and would like to move everything over. I started to copy and paste the root folder - which has all the photo folders and the LR catalog folder. If I copy and paste everything outside of LR and open the catalog in the new location, will LR recognize the photos in the new location?
I also read that the catalog could be moved to the new external hard drive (with LR closed) and the photos moved within LR by creating the root folder on the new and dragging and dropping each folder in Library mode.
I would like to take my existing photo's on an internal drive and move them to an external drive. I would like to leave my catalogue where it is on my internal drive. I would then like to use smart previews to allow me to edit my photo's with or without the external drive connected and have the photo's automatically sync'd when the external drive is re-connected.

Recently upgraded from MAC OS 10.6.8 and had no problem there for years. I have tried re-doing the permissions on the NAS files, but it didn't solve the problem.

However, when I transferred my photos from my old PC (Photoshop 6.0) the captions from all .psd files transferred successfully but none of the captions from .jpeg files transferred. I have tried copying and pasting the images from the Word document into Photoshop but they lose a considerable amount of quality.
Is there an ideal/professional way of 'unbedding' the photos in Word and transferring them into Photoshop without losing detail?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat is the simplest way to "automate" the application of text captions to jpg photos. I have in mind to generate a "layer" into which I can paste the caption text to a predetermined position (eg bottom right).
This layer would then be "added" to the jpg photo to show on the photo when viewed in the usual way. The more automated this process could be, the better as, if successful, I would use it hundreds of times.
When I try to open any photo using PE 11 as the default application, the photo doesn't open. I have to open the application first and then search for and import the photo into the application. Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Some old jpgs Lighroom suddenly started to report as unreadable, if I open them in another program they are not unreadable. Tried an optimimize catalog with no luck. Tried to start with a new catalog and import all the pictures again. That went fine, now I can read the pictures that earlier were reported unreadable. The problem is that I do not have my collections from the old catalog.
How do I get them to the new catalog?
Or: How can I make the pictures readable for Lightroom in the old catalog?
I process in Lightroom 4 on a Mac Air when traveling. When I return I want to transfer those processed images to my home MacbookPro computer. I think there is a way to attach the Lightroom changes to the photos and then import them into the home computer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use a iMac to capture and tag photos as finalist. I then transfer the folder to another machine for editing. When I add the images into the editing machines lightroom, all the tags, ratings, stars, colors don't show up.
When I was on Lr3 on both machines, these tags transferred. Even when a client used Bridge, they showed up. Now, not so much.

If I select and keyword RAWs (not doing any image adjustments) in L4 on a mac air on the road, how do I later (after moving these RAWs to another computer with L4) export my selection and keywords to it for image editing? At the momeent I am using the Drobo as back up until the 3tb becomes full. That time has come and I want to use the Drobo as the main drive for my images which contains exactly the same files as the 3tb. I also copied the catalog file onto the Drobo so I thought that all I needed to do is open the catalog in the Drobo and it will automatically access the files in the drobo drive but this is not the case as it still accesses the 3tb files. After finishing with developing an image including cropping, i export it to a Desktop file for emailing. however, the image that gets exported is not the cropped image but the original size.

During the shoot I 'Pick' all of the images that I want to rework and supply to the client as I am shooting.When I get back to the office, I load all of the RAW files from the shoot into my storage array, open up LR on the big computer, and start editing.
What is missing is the information about which images I have 'Picked', so I have to go through and 'Pick' the files again.What is the best way to retain this 'Pick' info when moving between computers? Is there a way to get LR to embed this in the RAW file?
