I use LR on a MacBook for tethered shooting on location. During the shoot I 'Pick' all of the images that I want to rework and supply to the client as I am shooting. When I get back to the office, I load all of the RAW files from the shoot into my storage array, open up LR on the big computer, and start editing.
What is missing is the information about which images I have 'Picked', so I have to go through and 'Pick' the files again. What is the best way to retain this 'Pick' info when moving between computers? Is there a way to get LR to embed this in the RAW file?
I an currently using LR5.3 on a PC. I have purchased a MacBook Pro and want to move all of my files to the Mac.Since my purchase of LR5 was a download will I have to pay for the program again or can I get a download for the Mac?
Why won't survey mode(N) let me pick only one photo? It used to let me but now won't. I have the latest software update on Lightroom 4, working with an iMac(OS X 10.8.2). I hightlight several images to pick from, click on one and press "P" to pick it. It then picks ALL of the photos I have hightlighted instead of only the one I clicked on.
It's not supposed to do that according to the website...yet it's still happening to me. In the Library module, do one of the following:
Select one or more photos in the Grid view, or select a single photo in the Filmstrip in Loupe, Compare, or Survey view. Then, choose Photo > Set Flag and choose the flag you want. If more than one photo is selected in the Filmstrip in Loupe, Compare, or Survey view, the flag is applied only to the active photo.
Movies from Sony NEX 5n (ADVHD) import fine, thumbnails look OK, player provides broken horizontal lines filling screen with movie playing in back ground. Macbook OSX 10.6.8 4gb ram.
I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and would like to place my copy of Light Room on it as well as on the XP PC. I see in my list of registered products it is a "multiple" platform product.
I recently purchased a new Mac Desktop and I would like to transfer my lightroom from my pc to a mac desktop. I am not very savvy on when it comes to this...the apple store will transfer all my files except for software...
I am running windows vista with lighroom 4.1 and CS4 11.0.2.
If I edit a photo with lighroom and send it to CS4 for final editing I am not getting any lighroom adjustments transfered with the image. I have been using lightroom 2.5 with no problems and now I have upgraded to lightroom 4 I am having problems..
I have recently transferred all my photo folders to a new NAS on a different drive to the original NAS. How do I point all my lightroom catalogues to the new NAS? Do I need to do this folder by folder by re-importing the files?
I don't hve the fastest computer, admittedly. But dowloading raw pics cand take ten minutes per picture. I am downloading to an external drive - is that the problem, or do I simply need to get a more modern/ faster computer?
I typically shoot in raw and export jpg versions..
I'm getting a new laptop tomorrow and want to know the best way to transfer pictures from my old laptop (running LR 3.6) to my new Laptop - which will be running LR 4.
Some old jpgs Lighroom suddenly started to report as unreadable, if I open them in another program they are not unreadable. Tried an optimimize catalog with no luck. Tried to start with a new catalog and import all the pictures again. That went fine, now I can read the pictures that earlier were reported unreadable. The problem is that I do not have my collections from the old catalog.
How do I get them to the new catalog?
Or: How can I make the pictures readable for Lightroom in the old catalog?
I process in Lightroom 4 on a Mac Air when traveling. When I return I want to transfer those processed images to my home MacbookPro computer. I think there is a way to attach the Lightroom changes to the photos and then import them into the home computer.
I use a iMac to capture and tag photos as finalist. I then transfer the folder to another machine for editing. When I add the images into the editing machines lightroom, all the tags, ratings, stars, colors don't show up.
When I was on Lr3 on both machines, these tags transferred. Even when a client used Bridge, they showed up. Now, not so much.
If I select and keyword RAWs (not doing any image adjustments) in L4 on a mac air on the road, how do I later (after moving these RAWs to another computer with L4) export my selection and keywords to it for image editing? Is this possible? Hoping to do the 'boring' stuff on the road, then working on them on a larger computer at home...
In addition tp adobe photshop i have a program i installed with my Canon XTI Digital called EOS Digital. Anytime I try to Browse and attach a photo I have to go to my pictures and some time the pictures are not there (the ones I downloaded into Adobe from my camera). There is a way to transfer the Adobe photos to this program but I forget how I did it.
I just bought a MacBook Air as my travel device. I have a Windows laptop that I use for everyday activities and processing. I just did a shoot and imported my RAW files into a brand new catalog on the MBA. I flagged picks and did some processing (both heavy processing and light processing) on the MBA. I saved Metadata to file, ejected the external hard drive from the MBA and then hooked it up to the Windows device.
Issue #1: I cannot open the new catalog created on the MBA on my Windows device. It just fails. Issue #2: When I simply synchronize the drive to the Windows laptop, the files do come in and the processing that I did comes in too. However, the flags do not transport. And, any adjustments I did with the adjustment brush are not available for editing on the Windows laptor. (If I "reset" it does go back to the original RAW file, but before resetting, I have no access to the adjustement brush settings on the Windows device)
I just bought a new Mac and I want to transfer old catalogs (LR 3 version) from my external and put the catalogs on my new Mac using Lightroom 4. I am having trouble getting the catalogs to save under my Pictures folder on my hard drive....
All my images are currently stored on a 3 Tb hard drive and recently I purchased a DROBO with 15tb of memory. At the momeent I am using the Drobo as back up until the 3tb becomes full. That time has come and I want to use the Drobo as the main drive for my images which contains exactly the same files as the 3tb. I also copied the catalog file onto the Drobo so I thought that all I needed to do is open the catalog in the Drobo and it will automatically access the files in the drobo drive but this is not the case as it still accesses the 3tb files. I tried diconnecting the 3tb thinking that it will try to access the files on the Drobo but then I get ?
I have a new desktop and want to transfer the files from lightroom on my laptop to my new version of lightroom on my desktop. Every method that I've tried thus far has resulted in the original files being transferred without any of the associated processing.
Best way to simply pass these folders from lightroom on one computer to another.
After finishing with developing an image including cropping, i export it to a Desktop file for emailing. however, the image that gets exported is not the cropped image but the original size.
I know this makes me sound like a newbie but in lightroom 3 the raw files were listes as .crw when I imported them from iphoto but in lightroom 4.1 they are showing up as .jpg. Am I doing something wrong? Are these actually RAW files I am working with or is lightroom converting them before I get a chance to work with them.
